As far as US hostels go, this one is pretty nice, with spacious, relaxed common areas. I stayed in a private room and it was cute and comfortable. The other options as far as I could tell in Sacramento were pretty slim - overpriced bed and breakfasts, drab chain hotels, or motels with rooms overlooking parking lots and roadways, all... More

The hostel is located in Downtown Sacramento and close to some restaurants. The main attractions of Sacramento are also a short walk away (apart from Sutter's Fort). The staff is very very friendly. We were greeted like old friends and they had many tips on what to do. Also, when our train was departing at 12am, they allowed us to... More

I stopped here overnight between my travels from Yosemite to Sacramento International Airport. I so loved this place. They have private rooms which cost a little more or the dorm rooms...This was my first hostel and although I was leary about the dorm room for an overnight stay and the price being right....I was very pleasantly surprised...I slept well and... Stayed one night in May - excellent facilities - staff members were top notch - so welcoming and knowledgeable - great location downtown - within walking distance of restaurants and nightlife - very clean - the building itself is an attraction - Victorian mansion with all the 'trimmings'!

Really close old town, convection center, amtrak station. Really safe neighborhood, we were able to walk back to the hostal at 10 pm. Nice showers. Good continental breakfast bagels, toast, cream cheese, butter and preserves, oatmeal, oranges, apples, tea, coffee, pastries. Beautiful place!!! Lots of restaurants and museums around

Back to back commitments in the area led us to this hostel in Sacramento one Saturday night in May. Driving into town found us truly in the belly of the bureaucratic beast. Downtown Sacramento is a hodgepodge of institutional time capsules, from the grandeur of the state capitol building to facelessness of the EDD building. And then there's the Jewel... More

Beautiful location, fabulous staff, environmentally friends EVERYTHING and so much to do! They'll rent you a bike to explore the town or you can hang out on the porch with a good book. Visit the basement and play pool or a game of giant Jenga! Even the breakfast spread is lovely.

I have taken classes to Sacramento on two occasions and on both we stayed at the Sacramento International Hostel. It is the perfect place to stay for school groups. It is clean, comfortable, safe, affordable and friendly. For my students (4th and 5th graders) staying at the hostel was an educational experience as they had to make their own beds... More

Very impressed with the property, the staff and the overall ambience of this place, with its spacious Victorian feel, huge lobby and dining area, grand piano, fireplace and airy, natural-light-filled rooms. Kitchen is also huge and guests can cook as long as they clean up after themselves. Although it wasn't easy at first to meet fellow travelers (given the feel... More

I have to say, I enjoyed the spaciousness of this hostel; there's room in the laundry room to fold your clothes, and there's an actual dining room too! The dorms are big enough to hold a lot of ppl without making you feel crowded. The staff, seem to like their job, and the vibe is very chill here without being... More
