Everything was perfect - from the friendly reservation agent and concierge who helped plan our whole trip, to the helpful valets and cart drivers, the amazing massages, the gorgeous dining experiences, and the beautiful room and property. Comfort and beauty in every experience we had.
The property location is serene, the staff superb and the rooms are perfectly appointed with luxurious bedding and bath amenities. It is a true gem overlooking Napa Valley with beautiful balconies to enjoy the view.
We've tried quite a few resorts in the Napa Valley region, and Auberge du Soleil might just be our favorite property of the bunch. The only caveat is the fact that they charge eye-popping rates to stay there. We booked a Deluxe Valley View Suite, which measures a generous 116m² in living space, and comes with a balcony with a panoramic view of the valley as well as a nice, large, hot tub. The decor is muted and earthly, which gives it a cozy and welcoming ambiance and blends in nicely to the surrounding landscape. The Suite also had a charming fireplace in the living room, two separate toilets (a major plus for Mrs. KI-NRT) as well as a nice and deep hot tub in the main bathroom. No qualms at all with the Suite. The grounds are equally picturesque. Aside from the view (which is particularly gorgeous from the main dining area), the fairly large grounds are littered with Olive trees, and there's a nice little walking trail that allows guests to explore the property grounds. It's a nice way to pass the time in the late afternoon or early mornings. Service - especially for an American property - was attentive, professional and down-to-earth without being too casual and chatty; ABS struck a good balance while still maintaining aspects that make American hospitality unique from other cultures. We had dinner at their signature restaurant, but were not blown away. While we enjoyed the very good service and romantic ambiance, the food was good but not particularly memorable. The grilled Octopus, Sauteed Petrale Sole and Nantucket Bay Scallops are just okay. Perhaps if we focused more on meat-based dishes things would have been different. Unfortunately, due to some distribution issues Foie Gras was not available the evening we were there. I do have to knock the score down a notch due to the rates here. While we are generally not price sensitive when it comes to accommodations, it must be said that rates are astronomical, and even compared to rival resorts in the area, ABS does command a price premium. It's not their fault - it's simply a matter of supply and demand - but if you're somewhat price conscious and the rate disparity persists you might want to consider some alternatives in the area.…
ADS is fantastic. From the incredible art you find sprawled around the property to the views from the mountain side, this resort is a must see! With a 24 hour pool and hot tub, this adults only resort has everything a guest is looking for. The spa pools ritual is a must-do. The pools overlook one of the best views of the valley and the staff is amazing.
Auberge du Soleil remains one of my favorite hotels anywhere. So much so that I am actually reviewing it again after our latest stay because there is still more praise to share. Since I went into more descriptive detail in my original review from April 2021 and because Napa and Sonoma are replete with excellent resorts, I am going to focus on what makes Auberge unique (and in my opinion, the best). First, it has a low guest count with all of the facilities and amenities of a much larger resort. Auberge has an amazing spa with cold plunge, warm springs, hot tub and steam rooms, a large saltwater pool and hot tub, an indoor-outdoor gym, a tennis court, walking trails, an outdoor sculpture garden as well as two restaurants and a bar. It is also an adults-only resort with only 50 rooms, a spa that is only open to on-property guests and dining that is closed to the public for breakfast. Basically, your stay will be a peaceful one and can be as private as you would like. You will never struggle to get a spa appointment (with advance notice) nor fight for a seat at the pool or wait for a table at breakfast. On this visit, for example, I only bumped into one other person at the gym across three visits and we were often the only guests using the spa pools and steam rooms. Second, the rooms all have private patios and amazing views are the default (unless you want to opt for a private garden-style room). Most properties in Napa are built on valley floor and may have manicured gardens or vineyard views, but do not have the same stunning depth-of-field or sense of place that Auberge offers. Third, every room is excellent. Even the entry-level rooms have a sculptural soaking tub, shower with a skylight, private patio, fireplace, California King Bed, an included minibar with locally-sourced snacks, lots of natural light and generous dimensions. You can always upgrade to a suite or a Maison for more space, but you could easily spend your entire stay in any room because they are all so comfortable, stylish and well-designed. Four, there is deep attention to detail throughout the experience. Everywhere you go, you can feel the level of thought that has gone into every aspect of the experience. Rooms have every bath amenity you could want already stocked as well as robes, slippers and yoga mats. You can also request art supplies, books and games to enhance your experience. Whether it is simple things like the spa having multiple infused waters, tea, snacks and sunscreen available, the tennis court having balls and racquets to use and the gym offering Vitamin Waters and fruit along with your standard water options — the team at Auberge has reduced the level of planning needed by the guest to enjoy anything. The grounds are the same way. They have a phenomenal landscaping team and the artwork is constantly evolving with the seasons. Five, the food is delicious and fits all palates. Auberge is the only hotel resort in Napa with a Michelin-starred restaurant (until Meadowood’s reopens) and their casual food options, bar and wine cellar are best-in-class as well. Finally, and most importantly, the service at Auberge is fantastic and has actually never been better given the challenges that COVID presented over the past few years. Guest Services managed every request with ease during our stay and took care of all of the tiny details around a surprise for someone in our group. Simple things like making us a key card when we arrived early so we could enjoy the property and then having multiple valets drive our car down the hill to meet us where we were relaxing in order to divide up the luggage in the trunk across our two rooms. The dinner server offered to have the kitchen package up dessert for our room since we were full after so many courses. Our breakfast server remembered my father-in-law’s juice preference before even he did on our second morning. An off-hand comment at the spa about the hot tub temperature, resulted in maintenance showing up 15 minutes later to confirm our desired temperature setting. There is no shortage of these anecdotes, and while service can be an amorphous concept to evaluate, it is clear that Auberge is firing on all cylinders. Ok, so what was intended to be a shorter review ended up being just as lengthy as my original one…but that is the challenge of capturing an experience like staying at Auberge du Soleil. You should book your stay soon and you will see what I mean!…
The quintessential 5 star Napa hotel. The rooms are huge, comfortable and have a massive tub that I enjoyed nightly. Service is absolutely impeccable from room service, to the restaurant to the spa, everyone was warm, polished and beyond helpful. The concierge can set up all of your vineyard visits and restaurant reservations to take the stress out of planning your trip. The pool is stunning and a great respite after a morning of Napa hikes. It’s expensive but everything in Napa is and here you absolutely get what you pay for.
Top notch service, very comfortable room and bed and friendly staff who offered helpful advice. Restaurant and menu options were varied but quality remained high, as evidenced by many diners who were not staying at the hotel but came for the experience. Even provided a hotel car to enable guests to sample the delights of Napa Valley.
From start to finish, an incredible resort with every wish fulfilled. From the room (Lovely) to the restaurant (outstanding), attentive staff, perfect pool and hot tubs - everything was first rate. We didn't want to leave.
Simply divine !!! I cannot say enough about the attention to detail this property delivers to make the guest experience first class and unbelievably special. I will certainly be returning . We had an absolutely amazing time.
This hotel offers so much charm. Our room overlooked the grounds below. It is nestled between two wooded areas and sits on a hillside. Because of its location, many rooms offer a beautiful view. Rooms are spacious. Valet parking is offered or in our case, we parked in front of our room. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. The hotel is next door to the Rutherford winery. We explored one morning and discovered it’s proximity. Next time, I will book a tour at this winery. The grounds were gorgeous.
