This camp-site is lovely if you are looking for a quiet time away. Liz and Alf who run the park are lovely to deal with and made us feel welcome since day 1. The beach is a short walk from the caravan park and the lake a stone throw away. We enjoyed our stay so much we've rebooked for next year.
Camping at Yambuk Lake Caravan Park gives you the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge. The staff are so friendly and accomodating and the facilities are always clean and tidy!! The new addition of the undercover area with a TV was nice to see completed this year. The fire pit / pond was an interesting addition. Enjoyed short walks to the beach, the big slide, swimming in the lake, activities for the kids and New Years Eve Fireworks nearby. Plenty of day trips to neighbouring towns within 30mins drive. The weather was a great escape from summer heat. The only thing missing was visiting food vans and small supplies available at the Park Office (Port Fairy Parks have these facilities, not sure why this one doesn’t also). This park is a perfect escape that is like a hidden paradise. Thanks Elf and Liz for your hospitality, I’ll be back again next year!! Cheers, JM…
If travelling along the Princes Highway, you see the sign Yambuk Lake CP, turn in and you will find a lovely small park, clean ammenities, including camp kitchen, and a lovely view over the lake. Stroll down to the jetty and throw in your line to catch a fish for dinner, then cook on the BarBQue. Sit back and relax and listen to the quiet as you unwind.
It is a very basic caravan park at affordable prices. They use tank water so make sure you bring water with you as you cannot hook up van to a water supply, this was not stated until after we booked. The managers are super friendly and very helpful and keep the area clean and very tidy. There is a basic camp kitchen and lovely bbq area which is all that you need for a comfortable stay. The lake is just metres away and some good fish are to be had. It was very windy and raining most of the time we were there, but in better weather would have been a lovely place to stay. Due to water restrictions, the showers are on a 4 min timer, it is enough but be prepared to have a quick dip. PS to the managers. Please replace the chair in the ladies shower block as it is ready to collapse. PS the washing machines are super cheap and the dryers are free.…
Beach & lake camping, dog friendly, wonderful hosts great facilities, bbq, kitchen, showers etc all very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for a weekend away from everything! The corner store 3.5km away is also great for supplies, papers chocolate etc
Had a lovely night stay. The guy running the place was super friendly and helpful. Great facilities and the park has a great view of the lake. Short walk to the slide and beach. Fantastic for the price. Definitely recommend! We will be back!
Our 3rd stay at the Caravan Park... Every time it's been a jem with plenty to do, or not to do if that's what you need! Already booked again for a quick pre Christmas stay... Cant wait to sit by the huge fire pit again under the glowing stars!
Lovely location, lovely small park with very clean amenities, even though not many. Very friendly, Liz & Alec, operators meet you as you enter & show you to your park. Park is very isolated, 5km off the main road to Portland, just 20 km from Port Fairy. Beautiful & quiet listening to the surf beach just up the river entrance. There are plenty of fish to be caught in this beautiful lake/Inlet, including 36cm Bream when we were there.
This is a small intimate caravan park with powered and unpowered sites available overlooking the Lakes and River .... We love it as always ,.. walked 8+ kms each day either on the beach and/or across the rolling paddocks in the vacinity ... rewarded with huge mushrooms which cooked up beautifully. Kayacked the Lakes and watched the locals catch plenty of fish. Great management, facilities and amenities and the recent camp eating area is a great bonus which is sheltered from ALL prevailing winds.
