We had 2 rooms for a total of 7 nights at your hotel. This is a nice hotel, however, we had a very poor experience. Upon checking in, the gentleman at the front desk was rude and condescending. Having worked in the hospitality industry, he is not someone I would want representing the company. All of the other staff was friendly, polite and helpful. Throughout our stay, our key cards were de-activated 4 times between our 2 rooms. We had to have the front desk re-activate them. We purposely kept them in the sleeve and away from other cards, phones or anything else that could have affected them, but they repeatedly did not work to get into our rooms. The final issue we had was on the day we checked out, the hotel had no hot water. We notified the front desk who said it was a planned outage for a broken water pump repair. This was inconvenient that we were not notified, we were given no alternate way to shower (maybe on another floor), and if it was planned, why right before guest checkout time and not later, after checkout, prior to check-in? We rarely leave poor reviews, but we feel we needed to pass along this feedback. Although the hotel was nice, we will not stay there again. We frequently visit family in the area, but will find a different hotel in the future.

No hot water!! I paid close to $200 with taxes etc and had no hot water. They said it was a burst pipe but they didn’t warn us about it. I went to fill the coffee pot and the water was brown. I had drunk that water earlier in the day. After waiting for 5 hours I gave up the ghost and moved to a nicer place. The staff were friendly and apologetic. I understand that with COVID we need to expect pared down service but this was too much. This used to be a very nice hotel when it was a Sofitel but it is quite worn these days.

Reception is not really helpful. One incident was with delivery. It took 2 calls to reception and 30mins for items to be delivered. Cleanliness is not as good, 3 out of 4 towels has hair and stains on them. Asked for new towels but was told off by the staff on the phone. Not the best experience after all.

Last night just around sunset I went down to the lobby it was filled with Singapore airlines flight attendants about to depart back to Singapore. They were all smartly dressed in their uniforms, about to take their charter bus to SFO. It made me think how appropriate this hotel is for Singaporean visitors. The rooms are comfortable, beds are amazing, it’s quiet, luxurious and safe. Unlike nearly everywhere else on the bayshore, there’s nary a homeless to be seen in this corporate park environment. Other than the boardwalk bird poop, the entire area is immaculately manicured. So if you wish to visit San Francisco but fear its gritty sides, and want a modern safe place to spend the night, this Pullman is your bet. Rooms are not as inexpensive as they were a year ago at the height of the pandemic lockdown, but now all amenities are available like the pool, gym, and restaurant. It’s a great value compared to the all the other hotels along US101 or CA82 in this area, which might cost a little less but are right on the freeway and all that entails. Don’t forget to upgrade to a view room. They are usually just a little more than the standard rooms. Bird watchers should ask for lagoon view. The local geese like it here so much they have given up on migrating! It’s about a half mile sidewalk stroll to the local strip mall with a modern supermarket and several decent restaurants. Downtown San Carlos and Belmont are a 5 minute Lyft away. Both little cities have lots of great restaurants and some boutique shops. Catch a Cal Train from the stations on El Camino and you’re in downtown SF in 30 minutes or so . Or pay the nearly $30/night parking fee. Forgot to mention that the service here is also impeccable.

It's always disheartening to see when specific attention have not been looked into when hotel staff cleans the room. Customers are always weary about cleanliness especially during such pandemic. And to see unclean or suspicious objects on the sofa just makes it worse. It leaves questions about how serious was cleaning conducted. While hotel staff interactions have been limited, on checking in staff set the tone of the upcoming stay. Unfortunately 'thank yous' and 'your welcome' was missing from this bunch. Perhaps they were busy. But coupled with an unfriendly look does not help.
