My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Portofino Hotel Ballrooms and it was a very good and beautiful experience. The staff there were always respectful and willing to answer any questions we had regardless of the situation. We had Sheena from sales assist with setting up everything for the party and always did her best to make time to answer questions or assist us with any aspects of the party, definitely was a big help in making the party a success. Julio made sure everything ran smoothly and ensured all guests were taken care of, always listened to our requests. The servers Eduardo, Ivan, Maria and Michelle were always making sure everyone got their food and if anything was needed they would take care of it. The bartender James was excellent in making the drinks and I saw many of the guests going back often to get his drinks, very good at what he does. It was an overall great experience. The room was decorated beautifully and we had an amazing view of the Redondo Beach Pier and ocean. Beautiful setting, and the perfect choice for an overnight get away for couples or four friends that were celebrating birthdays. Price, beautiful comfy rooms, great linen and shower/ bathroom combined with opportunity for a room with a view. We've done ocean and harbor view and loved both choices. Welcoming front desk staff and option to dine at Baleen for breakfast and lunch really rounded out the stay. While you're at it don't hesitate to ride bikes or even walk to the pier for fun viewing and enjoying fish markets and super loud, fun bars. (If that's your scene :) Redondo Beach area was new to us and completely a future destination!
Booked 2 nights using my Singapore Airlines mileage points redemption, hotel had the reservation but says the reservation was not prepaid. I have had a hard time until now to solve this problem with the front desk staff in the PM saying that only morning staff can handle the situation. When the bill was sent to me (since I had a back to back reservation) for the 2 nights, I replied to Cynthia stating the problem and we only drank 1 Evian water which was by our bedside table. There was no reply and I even followed up days after. I am very disappointed. The 2nd part of our reservation, we stayed in a room that smelled like marijuana which even the HSKP attendant said it does smell like marijuana and sprayed something for it to go away. Next person to check was the ENG personnel who said he is very sensitive to smell and all he could smell was perfume - The perfume that the HSKP team sprayed. We explained how yes, it smelled like perfume because HSKP just sprayed it but just kept pushing that there was no smell and he was going home at 11:30pm if it does occur again. Me and my boyfriend are hoteliers from Aspen, Colorado as well and know protocols. I just don't understand why the prepaid reservation cannot be resolved when I sent over my confirmation email and also SG airlines has been trying to reach out but no one has been able to help.…
A family road trip that had the Portofino as the terminus was exactly what we needed. Five Star visit with excellent service from Chelsea and all the staff. All rooms were facing the Pacific and we had excellent food from the Baleen twice.
Other than the location of this hotel and some friendly staff, everything else is average or poor. To start room cleanliness and musty smell are huge red flags. Poor wifi in this day and age is surprising. Parking at this location is a hassle. Fitness room is bare. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
This hotel gets an A++! I was there on business and my only regret is that I did not get to spend more leisure time here! Guest services, the restaurant, and cleaning staff were top notch! I really appreciate the professionalism and the outstanding service!
We were coming up for a wedding and needed an early check-in. My wife has a youtube channel- the dressupmom and my son is gay and loves the prep time before a big event regarding getting ready. THANK GOD. they got us in early. I am so grateful and thankful that they got us a room and allowed us early check-in Thank you so much for taking care of us and we had a great trip.
The room was very small a and it was ada room which we did not need. Wifi was usless, staff tried to help but never could get the connection to work. All in all a very disappointing experience. Can not recommend this hotel to anyone we know. One star rating.
I had an outstanding stay, staff and front office was always pleasant and accommodating to any request. I would highly recommend to others for both business and personal stay. The restaurants close by within walking distance were outstanding. Looking to visiting again later this year.
Loved the hotel location and service was impeccable! We ate every morning at Baleen and it was superb! I would definitely stay at Portofino Hotel again. The valets were very friendly and fast. Gorgeous lobby.
