We relied on the hotel coupon book available at rest stops for a cheap drop-in rate at this property. Big mistake! It was awkward finding our way into the parking lot. The hotel looked okay on the outside and there were happy kids playing in the pool. However, the first room we were given smelled of fresh paint (?), had... More

Made the mistake of going here because of a coupon. Should have gotten a clue that there was a problem when they asked for a $ 50.00 deposit in addition to the rate. Was extremely tired so stayed. Not smart. Huge stains on the sheets, was "given" laundered ones, for Me to change the bedding. The next day we realized... More

I reluctantly Stayed at the Ponderosa against my husbands advisement the first week in October 2015. It was wonderful! The grounds looked very nice, the front desk staff courteous and efficient, and reasonably priced. The room was clean from top to bottom and it appeared to have been freshly painted. The housekeeping staff was polite and hard-working and was there... More

We have been coming to Redding for years to visit family. We liked this motel because it used to be a clean, reasonable place to stay with a friendly staff. We also liked its proximity to Lulu's Eating and Drinking Establishment which is a great place to eat and drink. We had to be in Redding overnight last weekend and... More

Wish I had read some of these reviews before I booked a room at the Ponderosa Inn. Stayed there in July. Redding was about 105 degrees. The room was filthy, in disrepair and the AC was not working. Went to get some ice and, of course, the Ice Machine was out of order. We were just passing through on a... More

This is BY FAR the scariest place I have EVER stayed! There were more spider webs in the room than guests that have stayed there. There were multiple hairs in the shower, the exhaust fan was so loud and didn't even work, there were wrappers and napkins on the floor- which meant it was vacuumed as often as dusted (never).... I was driving from Portland and needed to pull off the highway and rest for the night. I found this place and noticed the parking lot was super busy. (It was actually because of the bar next door). I agree with the other posters. The room was disgusting. There was a hole in the bathroom door like someone put their... More

If you're passing through town late at night and plan to get up and go first thing in the morning, this will do, but for anything more than that I would stay away. The cleanliness was acceptable, barely, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly, but after that most features were sub-standard. Our non-smoking room was next door... More

any other reivew on this site that says otherwise is fake, period. This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Homeless roam the parking lot at night. The rooms are beyond gross, they smell. We changed rooms 3x. It was 2am we had no choice but to stay. Worst experience ever in a hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE
