Hospitality at its best. The hosts are so accommodating. The atmosphere is peacefulness, yet quirky and its environment is enjoyable. I can only imagine how beautiful and tranquil is in the warmer seasons, out by the fire pit, under the pergola.

The photo made the place look dark and uninviting, but all of the other B&B's were sold out so we called up Raimond (the owner) and yes, one of the (only two) bedrooms were available. As it was, we had the entire charming cottage to ourselves. the large picture window with two comfy armchairs in the living area overlooks the...

My husband & I (depressed by the usual poor accommodations available in the Redding area) decided to take a quick on-line look to see if we couldn't find an alternative place to stay (had little hope). I happened upon The Desmond House (bed & breakfast) and we decided to give it a try. This last minute decision to call was...

We stayed one night elsewhere in Redding but our B&B was booked up, so the owner recommended two others and we chose The Desmond House and were so pleased with it during the several nights we were there... The house looks small from the front on Riverside Dr. but it is not, it stretches back to a lane and is...

We stayed overnight. The place is delightfully charming and quirky. The owner Greg collects and displays all kinds of strange objects. we stayed in the Brooks room and had a good night's sleep. the breakfast is cold, and there was no service, just some items like fruit and breakfast pastries in a refrigerator. Wifi didn't work, but that may have...

My wife and I were on our way to Sublimity Oregon to visit my wife’s father and other family members. Half way to our destination is Redding so we decided to stay the night there. My wife and I like to stay in unique,...

If you are looking for a quiet, homey and comfortable place to stay in Redding, the Desmond House is the place to go. We spent some wonderful days there and were taken care of very well by the innkeeper Greg. He would do anything to make us feel at home and to make our stay very agreeable (like lending us...

The Desmond House is a wonderful getaway. It is quiet and peaceful both inside and out, yet it is close to all that Redding has to offer. Time just seems to slow down while you are at the house. Breakfast was delightful and Greg is a very kind and thoughtful host. No matter how much time we spent at the...

We liked the description of the The Desmond House on-line and made a reservation on our way to the Redwood coast. We were not disappointed. The house is beautiful and is in a great location. The owner, Greg, made a tasty and healthy breakfast. The outside sitting area with its arbor and bamboo is an experience in itself. Its obvious...

This eclectic and beautifully maintained B &B is a true gem to find. Comfortable and inviting with many niches to sit, read or daydream. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are spacious. Off street parking. Wonderful outdoor sitting area gives you a secluded beautiful oasis to have a glass of wine and relax.
