I've been wanting to stay at this resort for over 10 years. I finally bit the bullet to pay the exorbitant price and stayed two nights. The first night we ate at their restaurant and the service was bad. I had to ask four times for ketchup and by the time I finally got it my fries were cold. The following day we went to the pool by the spa. There were dirty towels on most of the chairs that no one had picked up after the guests have left the pool area. I'm sorry to say I don't feel the hotel is up to par and would not spend the money to stay at a place with poor service such as this.

Stayed at this beautiful resort for a bachelorette party. We stayed in a spacious hacienda, ate at the restaurant and went to the pool. Very relaxing. Loved the complimentary mini bar and fresh squeezed orange juice in the morning. I was disappointed when I reached out to the event staff to arrange for a wine tasting that they were unable to accommodate and were unable to provide an interesting alternative. I think this hotel is gorgeous but do feel it is overpriced.

Rancho Valencia is in a beautiful setting, and the rooms are large, with lovely outdoor space. Grounds are elegant, and the spa/fitness/yoga areas are particularly special. The food is solid, and complimentary snacks in room and green juice after workouts and orange juice in the mornings are fun, and service was very friendly. The yoga instructor was truly excellent. We had a delightful stay and I would happily return — I just would note that the rates aren't quite consistent with the experience. This is a truly beautiful hotel, but more consistent with an ~$800/night or so stay, and not quite at the extraordinary level of what I would expect from a $1500 or 2000/night+ price range.

My friends and I treated ourselves to a half day at the spa and full day in a pool cabana. It was easily one of my favorite days of the year. We started the day with a small group Pilates class before our services. The relaxation room was well stocked with tea and an assortment of healthy snacks. I loved that the entire setting was indoor/outdoor, including the service rooms! I especially enjoyed my gemstone massage, which left me feeling relaxed, yet somehow energized. Post service, we were offered green juice, which was a lovely touch. At the pool, we were treated to champagne and lunch; we lingered for hours. The experience was absolutely perfect and will be tough to top. Kudos to the resort team for exceptional service! We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed here in COVID and it was a very relaxing and clean stay. The staff was very good about safety (except once when housekeeping came in our rooms to turn down beds). Other than that, the rooms are all separate and have separate AC units. Since it was in the middle of pandemic, we opted to get room service - which was probably not the best choice - the bill was very high for just basic meals. We had our kids with us, and they loved the grounds. We even saw hot air baloons as we ate dinner one night in our room's "backyard". It's a little pricey, but a really nice place to stay.
