Really a beautiful hotel. Rooms r tired. Service is terrible. Front desk people not great! No fresh juices on the entire property! Wrist bands for the pool like u r at Disneyland!! Never again, terrible, 2200 for that room and no service makes no sense.
This was the first time visiting Terranea Resort. We came here for a wedding. We were here from Friday to Sunday. The resort is huge, everything on this resort is beautiful and exceeding our expectations. Plus the food and drinks were delicious. It was the perfect couples trip. We will definitely be back and next time we will bring our kids with us. There is also a lot of family friendly activities to do.
We rented four casitas. The casitas we choose were recently remodeled. The service in the casitas was wanting. I had to call for someone after the first day to empty the trash and get fresh towels. Nelson's and Mar'Sels were excellent dining experiences.
Fund raiser event talk on microphone and played loud music way after 10:30. Keeping us awake. Even with the nice paned windows. Restaurant Saturday night had great service and excellent food. Staff was very friendly.
Just finished a 4 night stay. Pros: Stunning oceanfront views, not crowded during the week, many on-site dining options since there's really no restaurants nearby. My daughter loved riding the golf cart shuttle around the resort. It felt well-staffed during the week but I can see how on the weekends wait times for everything are very long as they had two large weddings checking in and moving throughout the property. We dined at almost all their restaurants and Nelsons was our favorite. The bavarian pretzel and lobster roll was delicious. Mar'sel had nice views but the service was very slow and the food a little lacklustre for the price. I've had much better food at other local 5-star resorts in the OC. Cons: Rooms were kind of old and the bathroom felt run-down. My husband kept complaining about how the hallways looked really old and sad each time we walked to our room. Don't come here expecting a beach for kids. Their cove is small and it's not a sandy beach but more of a sandy area overlooking big rocks.down to the ocean. Menu options at all the restaurants felt very limited which I get since it's a pandemic but more options would have been nice. I didn't like how the restaurants like Catalina Kitchen did not offer take-out on the weekends. We're in the middle of a pandemic and not everyone feels comfortable dining indoors yet. Plus we're on a vacation and sometimes just want to pick up food to eat in my room rather than have to get my entire family dressed to go dine in. And the 25% room service- service charge is egregious. We had to call for housekeeping on our 3rd day and housekeeping forgot to restock our toilet paper so we were down to the last few squares of our roll and called the front desk for more toilet paper, waited 2 hours and it never came. We tried calling the front desk again and the hold time was so long we gave up and fortunately ran into a maintenance guy in the hallway who was able to get us 2 rolls. …
