My wife and I loved staying in this super cool and unique cottage. The yurt had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Easy to find and a very private and quiet location. Just a short drive to Point Reyes Station and the National Seashore. Perfect spot for relaxing or a base for day trips around Point Reyes and West Marin County. Our host, Tony, introduced himself on our second day, otherwise we didn't see other people. Tony was very quick in responding to emails and took care of our reservation right away. The hot tub was a nice feature, the weather was too warm for a fire, but there is a nice little wood stove for chilly winter nights. We will definitely be back on our next trip to the coast.
Just want you want, cozy quaint with the only noise at sunset the faint mooing of the cows, literally coming home. Deer right out the window, chill enough to lie down in the grass. A constant cool breeze and just a 4 minute drive to town. Perfect, and the hosts are great and responsive to your needs.
The Windsong Cottage is the yurt of my dreams. Clean and perfectly appointed, it has a view of Tomales Bay. The wood burning stove was ready to light and made for a wonderfully cozy and romantic evening. Plus, it is just down the road from Heidrun Meadery, which is the perfect stop after getting amazing local cheeses in Pt. Reyes Station. The wonderful evening of cheese and fruit and wine was topped off to perfection with a relaxing float in the hot tub leading to the best sleep snuggled in the comfortable bed. I didn't want to leave!
Even though we lost electricity for almost 24 hours during our 2-day visit in the yurt, it was still one of our favorite things that we did during our California vacation. We visited Point Reyes & San Francisco during a historic storm with constant rain, flooding and mudslides so we had some things happen that wouldn't happen to the average tourist. The yurt was extremely comfortable, had a lot of natural light, all the creature comforts of home and a gas stove that kept us warm during the power outage. The only thing we didn't have was refrigeration during the power outage. And we lost access to the hot tub because it wasn't "hot" without electricity. I would call that a smallish bummer. We ran out to the little downtown and bought ice to keep food/milk cold and did get to jump in the hot tub in the morning before we left. We managed to hike and got very wet but felt very adventurous. And on Tony's recommendation, we drove up to North Beach which was excellent and so worth the trip. There was so much rain during our stay there were roads closed off so we had to get creative during parts of our trip. The yurt had a comfortable bed, comfortable furniture, fresh fruit and coffee (and even milk and juice in the fridge) and a great hot tub with total privacy, Pretty views as well. Point Reyes is close by with a great natural food store to buy food and wine. We would love to come back again under dryer circumstances! We did get a peak at blue sky on our last day.…
Located in beautiful Marin County this Yurt cottage will delight you. Enjoy wonderful panoramic views and a peaceful feeling from the moment you arrive. After a glorious hike to Tomales Point we returned to luxuriate in the hot tub. Tony was a gracious host, providing fresh fruit and breakfast supplies in his well appointed kitchen. Leave your stress behind and treat yourself to an exceptional experience, go visit Windsong Cottage.
