What a lovely spot to wake up in. Ocean on either side and newly renovated cottage between. Just bring your food, lots of warm coffee and a good book or canvas. Close to town for supplies but feels isolated too. Just 4 cottages so very quiet before the lighthouse opens st 10 am for tours. The house is 3 br/2ba... More

My son, my niece, and I stayed in the Assistant Keepers Apartment number 4 for one night in early August. We were the first guests in the newly remodeled space. I'm stunned! I've stayed at many of the world's finest hotels including the Ritz in Paris and several Four Seasons. They all live up to their standards. But, when a... More

Thanks so much for your review, Doug, and it was a pleasure to have you, your son and niece as our first guests! You are lucky that your son found us on the internet and got you this reservation, and it was nice of you to give him the master bedroom as a reward. We hope you make us part... More

Every possible need is met here. Beautiful 1 bedroom cabins fully stocked, great staff (especially the redhead...can't recall her name), wonderful heated pool and jacuzzi, convenient to all good things, private parking, easy accessibility, maid service and full kitchen. Love it here and we will be back soon. We are in unit 3 which is close to the front office,... More

A great history lesson provided by Isaac atop the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast. We stayed in their Asst. Keepers Quarters - a great cottage, right by the sea and lighthouse. A great value for the accommodations. The views can't be beat - both from the ground and 100+ feet in the air (and it was foggy on the... More

So glad that Isaac did his usual fine job of giving a great presentation in the Tower, he is very passionate about the Lighthouse and loves sharing its history and details with our guests. Also glad that you enjoyed staying in our Assistant Keeper's house. It is truly a unique place to stay on vacation and we hope you visit... More

We had quite the mixed bag of a family group; elderly, injured, pregnant and new born needed to be carried and we all made it up to the top. Beautiful view and worth the climb! Resting points along the way made it possible 😉. Cute gift shop too. A little pricy to get into the park, but we were able... More

BEAUTIFUL SIGHT. You can take a wo derful tour. You'll recognize this lighthouse from the movies. Last movie scene shot on site was the scene at the end of NEED FOR SPEED. Also this is the closest point from the mainland to Hawaii.

Aloha everyone, As part of a 10 day summer vacation road trip, my significant other and I stayed at one of the Point Arena Lighthouse "keepers" cottages. More specifically, we stayed in the Head Light Keeper's Cottage (#1). First off, Point Arena is a beautiful spot, roughly 150 miles up Hwy 1 on the Pacific coast north of San Francisco.... More

Great experience! If you are up to climbing the 175 steps the view is amazing and there is a guide that will answer your questions. You can rest on several landings and the trip down is easy. The gift shop is nice and there is a little museum. Well worth a stop!

Thanks, Karen, I couldn't agree more except that everyone should visit MORE than once - it is different every day of the year out here. You never know what amazing sites you will see from the Tower and grounds. We get the migrating gray whales and pelicans flying by from October through June, harbor seals basking on the rocks most... Drove to the lighthouse while driving up the coast and I was just left breathless. The views are amazing and even our teenagers loved it. The wind, the views, and the lighthouse are just amazing. We even saw seals on the rocks, my son thought they were sheep when he first saw them. I would recommend this stop to anyone!

Thanks for the great review, and I have to say that even though I am here all the time the views always take my breath away, too. I am particularly glad that your teenagers loved it, I fell in love with this area when I was 16 and it has always been very special. I hope that it gets into... More

The trip to the lighthouse was great, mostly due to the fact you can actually go up into the lighthouse to the light room, then outside and walk around the lighthouse. The only downside was our tour guide, found once you make it to the top, was uninspiring and made comments not relevant to the area or the lighthouse.

Glad you made the trip and found it worth it! Sorry our guide was uninspiring, we try to have our guides be enthusiastic, informative and friendly and I'm sorry that wasn't your experience on your visit. Maybe he/she was having a bad day. I will discuss this in our next staff meeting, and I really appreciate the feedback. More

Our other two Assistant Keeper's homes offer more rustic accommodations, but still offer full 3 bedroom, 2 bath houses with fully stocked kitchens, comfortably furnished living and dining rooms, unique art and decorative features, satellite television, CD/DVD player, gas fireplace in the master bedroom and more! These units are also pet friendly, and share the same incredible views that all of our cottages offer.
