We had been to the Point Arena Peir many times. Mostly lunch or coffee and just a place to stretch your legs while on hwy 1. Recently we saw a review that said hike to coast trail behind the Wharf Master Inn. Well that was a great hike along the Stornetta National Monument and the ocean waves crashing with a couple of miles of coast line along with the room which had a big spa tube made this a repeat stop in the future.

Hi there, We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and had some time to relax in the jacuzzi tub! Great way to sooth after a long hike. Did you go all the way to the lighthouse? It's about 5 miles one way. So 10 miles round trip! Phew!! We can't wait for you to come back! We have a list of all the hiking trails, here in the lobby, so make sure to pick one up!

We stayed in room 104 overlooking the ocean. Queen bed and jacuzzi hot tub in the room. The furniture was beautiful wood 4 poster bed, VERY comfortable mattress, and beautiful sitting chairs. All very well chosen and in Very good condition! The deck had chairs where I sipped my coffee in the morning and tea in the evening looking for whales from our deck- with success! Bring binoculars for fun but you may not even need them to see the whales. We walked down the tiny hill (less than 1/4 mile) to the Chowder House each evening for 2 delicious dinners and beer on tap....also whale watching and watching the boats at sunset. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Hotel Breakfast:..standard continental with a very pleasant breakfast staff person. I need a bit more protein than hotel cereal /waffles so I walked down to the Cove coffee house near the wharf...super close..for eggs/avocado sandwich. This hotel is very much worth staying to listen to the waves at night and being able to walk to Wharf restaurants as needed. I am so glad I made this choice! If you want regular pillow cases to cover the fancy cases..just ask them. The staff was super helpful. I even brought 2 extra pillows with me but I didn't need them. Treating myself to a jacuzzi bath at night before bed was also a delight. Wifi: Good enough if you need to be connected but I encourage you to disconnect to soak in the beauty and take a deep breath. I travel all over California and I give this a thumbs up for a Northern Coastal Experience.

We spent two nights here in late Dec.. The first thing I noticed while checking out the room was a damp towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I’m sure housekeeping just failed to see it, but it was a little off-putting to find it there. We returned the towel to the front desk so they wouldn’t think the previous occupants had taken it. The couple working there was very apologetic. Our large room had two twin beds and electric logs for heat. Two steps up from the sleeping space(well, more like 1.5) was an area with a round table and two chairs, microwave, frig, and coffee maker. Had there been a small sink here, it would have been a nice kitchenette. Cups and glasses were not your usual plastic but glass. Lighting was excellent! Two luggage racks were available as well as a listing of TV stations. To me, these are big bonuses when on the road! The bathroom which also had steps up to it was quite spacious. The tub/shower was large, but it took a big step to get into it! There was one small shelf for personal toiletries. A towel rack near the sink would have been nice for hanging the hand towel. On our second night here, I discovered a puddle of water and at first thought the toilet was leaking. It turned out that the water came from the shower. I think there are corner guards that can be purchased to keep water from flowing out of the shower. Again, glasses were provided in this room, but with so many hard surfaces, I worried about knocking one against something and breaking it. A placard about reusing towels in order to conserve water was hanging in the bathroom. We checked with the front desk and were assured that housekeeping would not change towels if they were hung up. We were disappointed to find that this wasn’t the case. We travel a lot and unfortunately, this often happens. Why the indication from management that the accommodation is environmentally friendly when in reality, it’s not?? An unusual extra here was access to a trail that went from the hotel up the hill to the top where it joined the main trail system for the Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands, which is a part of the California Coastal National Monument. We used it when setting out to hike along the coast. Breakfast was provided beginning at 8am. Yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, bagels, English muffins, toast, sweet rolls, coffee, and juice were offered. On Sat. morning, one of the staff made waffles. There was a nice balcony in the complex from which we watched the sunset one evening.

Hi there, We are terribly sorry about the towel left by housekeeping. That is very unusual, as our housekeepers are very thorough. We did speak with them, to ensure they are very careful, and do not make that mistake again. I'm so glad it did not hinder your stay! We do rehang your towels that are left hanging. If they are very damp, we do replace them, as the rooms keep moisture, and they may not be dry for your next use. But if they are dry, or just a bit damp, they will not replace the towels. We're happy to hear you got to explore the hiking trail! It's so beautiful up there. We hope you come back again and stay with us.

Visiting the area for one night and found this gem online. Located on a cliff overlooking the working harbor, but not busy. The view from our room would have been great if not for the fog. The room was super clean and comfortable. The Inn keepers are very nice and accommodating. We would stay here again.

Hi there, We're so happy you found us, and came to stay. The fog is hard to predict, but it's kind of romantic! I know you would love a clear ocean view. That's why we're here! We hope you get the opportunity to come back, and hopefully it's nice and clear for you!

Room was extremely nice. Had a beautiful bathrub. View was good but not straight on, was to the left, so that was a little disappointing. I thought it was kind of expensive but I guess the quality of the room and the view made it worthwhile.
