We planned a visit to the Sierra Foothills wine region and wanted a well situated spot. Rest was perfect - even during the odd time of 2020. They were very welcoming and made us feel safe with their Covid-19 safety practices. The room was lovely and well appointed. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return when the world is back to a more normal time. I would highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant, Taste that is next door.
After being "sheltering in place" for over 4 months, we had a wonderful time at the Rest. They had done all the things need to assure us that we would be safe. We missed the company of Happy Hour and Breakfast together but loved the wine and the breakfast(which we ordered) that was delivered to our room to take the place. Not the first time we have stayed at the Rest and plan to do it again soon.
The staff at Rest have done an excellent job working with the new Covid 19 requirements. We felt completely comfortable in our stay. The continental breakfasts they are making are wonderful. We ordered dinner at Taste and they delivered it to the hotel. We ate out in the lobby and it was as good as ever. If you are considering a trip to Amador county, go for it. All of the wineries are doing a top notch job following the rules and it is not crowded at all!
Rest is a boutique hotel in Plymouth, CA situated perfectly for a winery weekend. Only 16 rooms and they are all over-sized and luxurious. Great staff just wanting to ensure everyone has a great visit. Can't wait to go back.
We spent 3 nights here in a King Standard room. Our room was spacious and the amenities were great, with chilled bottled water and snacks provided. Free Netflix compensates for the lack of HBO. There are only a few parking spots behind the hotel (with two electric car charging stations) but street parking is plentiful. The staff was extremely helpful. The continental breakfast was good with a variety to suit different tastes. The wine social is basically a wine tasting hour featuring a different winery in the region each evening. It is complemented with hors d'voeures made by Taste Restaurant next door. They even have freshly baked cookies at night! Taste restaurant next door is a convenient dinner venue but be prepared to pay. The deli across the street provides a more affordable choice if you grab something before it closes at 6pm. The hotel is located within 5-10 mins of wine tasting on Shenandoah Rd. There are two tasting rooms within short walking distance which is also convenient. The only issue with our room was that it was closest to the lobby and it was on the lower level. We could hear footsteps from the floor above. In the morning, we can hear the staff coming in at 6am getting ready for breakfast. If I stay here again I would request a room upstairs.…
