This boutique hotel is in the center of downtown Plymouth next to the Taste Restaurant. Both are exceptional. The hotel is clean and modern, although no elevator.. The staff is very attentive and invested in making every stay enjoyable. We intend to return, many times

My company stayed at Rest for a small staff retreat and it did not disappoint! It was perfectly cozy and inviting for our group of seven. The staff was wonderful and prepared for our every need, from the delicious meals all the way to our in-room conference/meeting. The staff was never too far away and always there to address our needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. Tracey went out of her way to find evening options for our party, with a wine blending class at Fate Wines and then dinner at Taste Restaurant. Both were amazing and the proprietors really made our group feel special. Every part of the experience turned out great and I would not hesitate to return.

Rest was one of the nicest boutique hotels I’ve been to. Every room and area is clean and well kept. Upon arriving, Lisa is a friendly face who introduces you to the hotel. She goes above and beyond to make the guests feel welcome and comfortable. The room was very large and the bed had one of the best mattress I’ve slept on. The bathroom has space on the counter, plenty of towels, and a nice shower. But Rest goes even further than providing exceptional space and people. There are extras around every hour…from 5-6pm they offer wine and 2 appetizers that are made by the restaurant next door. And those appetizers change everyday and are unique and very delicious. Lisa asks if there are any food allergies or preferences upon check-in and goes out of her way to accommodate those. Sitting comfortably in big chairs with the fire place offering a fine ambiance, you can chat with other guests or you can sit out on the patio. Then they offer each room 2 homemade cookies for later. And in the room, besides coffee and tea, there’s a basket with bags of snacks and 2 water bottles replaced each day, on the house. You can find more snack bags in the communal area as well. They offer a very nice breakfast with wonderful baked eggs, pastries, oatmeal, granola, fresh fruit, and yogurt. One really feels cared for and comfortable at Rest! Will return.

My wife and I have stayed here twice... most recently with some friends for a winetasting weekend in the Shenandoah Valley. Tracey and Mark have done a fabulous job with this property and with class equal to the Taste Restaurant next door and the rustic charm of the Union Inn and Pub in Volcano. Tucked away in the old historic buildings on Main St. in Plymouth, Rest provides a relaxing, clean, quiet and friendly place to relax at the end of the day and to wake up energized in the morning. The selection and quantity of breakfast offerings and afternoon hors d'oeuvres and beverages quite likely will leave you pleasantly satisfied and not needing to venture out for breakfast or dinner. So even though room prices are on the higher end of the spectrum, you really should consider these as added value your stay. Not to mention the well-appointed and VERY clean rooms. The staff really does a great job making sure everything is perfect. Being centrally located smack-dab in the middle of the Amador County/Shenandoah Valley Wine Country, nearly all of the area wineries are no more than 10 minutes away. This makes it a snap to taste and buy local wines and easily bring them back to the hotel so they don't overheat in your car! During late Spring through early Fall, the daytime temps can easily reach into the 90's and can ruin your wine if exposed too long at those temperatures. Trust us... we know! We've stayed both mid-week and during the weekends. There are pros and cons to each. Mid-week is more laid back and relaxing... but there aren't as many local dining options available (mostly because of COVID-19!). So the complimentary breakfast, hors d'oeuvres and beverages that Rest offers are particularly welcome and great value add. Because it is a little slower, you really get a chance to meet fellow guests and the wonderful staff. During the weekends, it's quite a bit busier with a lot of folks coming and going. That's not a bad thing, it's just different and you should set your expectations accordingly. We live in El Dorado Hills, CA... only 40 minutes from Plymouth. Going to Rest is like having a mini-vacation for us. Sure... we could visit the Amador County Wine Country during the day and then drive home in the evening. But why do that when Rest is so convenient and provides such a wonderful experience?

What a great location for a quick getaway! The bed was comfy, room full of amenities and the staff were super attentive and wanted to make sure our visit was "restful". It was! The warm chocolate chip cookies were exactly what we needed, the wine they gave us was top notch and the room was very quiet

This was our second time staying at Rest and we will definitely return. The staff (Andrew, Lisa and Scott) go above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Both the breakfast and wine hours are superb. We really appreciated that each night a different area winery served 2 or 3 of their wines to us.

We recently visited the area for a family wedding. The hotel we had originally booked was truly horrible and we were desperately seeking last minute accommodations. After a quick google search I found The Rest Hotel. Lisa was sympathetic to our situation and said come right over to choose your room. We were tired from a long day of travel and stressed about not having a place to stay. We arrived to a comforting smile, freshly baked cookies, wine and beautiful rooms to choose from. We selected Suite 102 and didn't want to leave. The abundance of windows that brought in beautiful natural light during the day and a cool breeze at night were wonderful. We were excited to discover the very large jetted tub that soothed our travel weary bodies. The bedroom was perfectly sized for two travelers and all of our things comfortably. We were traveling with our 6 month old English Bulldog and she loved the space to stretch her legs and the beautiful park across the street for morning walks and evening play time. The staff was so warm and friendly always going above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. My partner is in love with the little town and didn't want to leave. We also recommend the deli across the street. The food was so fresh and delicious for breakfast, lunch or a quick snack. We honestly can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was and we are looking forward to a more leisurely visit in the future!

We spent one lovely night at Rest. We were greeted at the front desk by Amy who was so welcoming and friendly. She got us all settled into our room, treated us to a goodie bag with wine, cookies and hotel info, and made sure we had all the info we needed to get dinner in the area that night. Our room was comfy and perfectly clean. An amazing bed, easy to control climate control, and bottles of water made sure we got a great night sleep. Everyone staying at the hotel was friendly and kind - a vibe set by the hotel. We were grateful for the car charger in the parking lot. Really can't think of a single "con" to add to this review. If you have the chance to stay at Rest, you won't regret it!

We really enjoyed our two night stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. In particular, Amy went above and beyond. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. We spent a lot of time playing cards and drinking wine in the lobby. The location is perfect if you want to visit the local wineries. Parking was easy and close to the back entrance (we could see our cars from the lobby). We will definitely stay here the next time we visit.
