My wife and I picked this hotel out for a two day visit. We wanted to be comfortable and centrally located. This hotel exceeded our expectations and we are well travelled and somewhat picky. The lobby and bar area are very inviting. I love all the wood paneling. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Service and food excellent. Additionally, as a physician/immunologist, it was refreshing to see them employing science based masked policies rather than the COVID hysteria based absurdities we have encountered elsewhere in CA. We are in our mid 70’s and must be careful but we never felt at risk. Thank you, Rose Hotel!! We will be back.
Stayed several nights at the Rose Hotel in Pleasanton in mid-July. This is a well-appointed boutique hotel on beautiful Main Street in Pleasanton, CA. Any other time, I would probably be saying it is an above average room, although looking a bit dated and in need of a refresh. But in the middle of a pandemic? I can only say STAY AWAY! The first red flag appeared when I asked on the phone before booking if they are taking good care to protect guests from the virus? They said, “Oh yes. The rooms are all very clean”. I then asked if the staff’s temperature is tested each day upon arrival at the hotel. “No, we don’t do that. Don’t see any reason to.” When I arrived, there was NOT A SINGLE MASK on the staff. They all huddled together, put out the breakfast buffet and served drinks. Everyone on the staff lacked a mask, including the manager. This was notable since every single restaurant on Main Street is required to post a sign, “No mask, no service”. Then how come this hotel staff has no masks? We instructed the staff that we wanted no maid service while there. But after two days they called and insisted it was their policy to inspect the room. I'm not sure if they thought we were cooking some crystal meth or what? When told them again that we wanted no one in the room, especially staff who see no need for masks. They then brought out the manager who was quite demanding. The finally let us stay without intrusion after we told them we would check out rather than have staff in the room. If you believe the pandemic is a hoax, this is your hotel. If you, like us, are looking for conscientious management that cares enough to keep their guests safe and wear a mask, you should go elsewhere. We will not be back.…
I had no idea what to expect when traveling for my daughter's wedding during a pandemic. The Rose exceeded my every wish - not only did we feel safe and comfortable (the hotel was impeccably clean) but the little details and indulgences made us feel pampered during our stay - which was so needed and welcome! The continental breakfast is high-end with amazing bagels, bread, and pastries as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, salmon hard-boiled eggs, and hollandaise. Little baskets of treats such as fresh-baked cookies (individually wrapped) were on every floor. The jacuzzi tub and shower are fantastic, and the bed was truly heavenly, with great sheets and comforter. The staff was very attentive and responsive but relaxed. It was a terrific experience and I can not wait to go back again!
Stunning hotel in downtown Pleasanton. Looks historic but is relatively new. Beautiful furnishings, upscale amenities, gracious hospitality, All during the co-vid 19 crisis. They normally have a delicious, over-the-top Continental breakfast. Even with limited guests they provide unlimited coffee, yogurt, breakfast bars, juice, fruit. The evening turndown service is lovely. Even though all restaurants in town are closed, there are a few who are doing takeout. Upon the manager’s recommendation, we ordered from two of them in one stay and again in the next stay. Delicious. The hotel staff set up dining for us in the hotel bar/parkour, replete with China, silverware, and glassware—no eating off paper plates with plastic fork. Lovely hotel, lovely furnishings, lovely staff.
I hesitate to share as I want to keep this as my secret but this was the most pleasurable experience. Melissa was the highlight with her attention to detail, most professional and friendly personality, so knowledgeable and accommodating. The hotel and the rooms were exceptional down to every last decor details and the service and amenities were second to none! The breakfast was fabulous, the snacks the turn down service, luxurious bedding, ample parking and everything included. I will definitely stay here for all my trips, worth my drive considering I was working an hour and a half away. Thank you to all!
