We stayed here one night. This was the only hotel within 25 miles or so that had a vacancy. We were tired so we took a chance. It was quieter than I expected. The room was relatively large. It was rather run down. It was adequate for one night but not lodging I would covet.
Last resort only type of place. I had the opportunity come up at the last minute and this was the only place that seemed to have vacancies. My room was very clean the pain almost a hundred bucks a night for this place is ridiculous. The internet didn't work, the TV didn't work oh, and for a hundred bucks a night everything should damn well work.
Just like most of the reviews on here, this is absolutely a horrible and dirty place, I will never stay here again. I had family in Placerville and have stayed here several times in the past but have not stayed in about 15 years, it used to be a great place. First when we got into the room the TV didn't work when I called the manager he had no idea how to fix it, so I had to play around with it just to get it to work, eventually I got it, then the TV directory card was so outdated, it was nothing like what the channels actually were. The Microwave didn't work, because only the bottom outlets worked, every outlet we tried to charge our phones on were broke. We had to unplug the lights just to get power to charge. Yeah, they advertise that every room has a fridge and microwave, but they never said they worked. If you need coffee in the morning better bring your own, no coffee pots and there is nowhere to get coffee at 4 am in this town, most places have at least a single coffee maker, nope not here. So instead of a nice relaxing morning, we had to leave at 4:30 AM to be able to get what we needed in Diamond Springs, just a few miles away, wish we knew that ahead of time. We would have just found a place there.…
Will never stay there again. I had to make an emergency reservation for an employee. They took all my credit card information (they say on their confirmation & website that they will charge the credit card should there be any issues) But apparently they won't charge the credit card for the room. The guy was rude on the phone. The employee didn't sleep a wink because conditions were horrible. Woke up the next morning & started looking for someplace else. Ridiculous. Will never use this place again.
My recent stay at Gold Country Inn in Placerville, California was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever with a hotel stay. Furniture, carpet, decor, are outdated. Bathroom paint on doors and walls peeling away....appears to have been that way for a while. Towel holder on wall welded together. Unprofessional hotel owner manager greatly lacking in people and customer skills. I have worked with people my entire career as a travel consultant and never witnessed or experienced a hotel stay and rude hotel manager as this one at Gold Country Inn.in Placerville, California. I highly do not recommend this hotel.
