When you book online they say they can not find your reservation, so you will rent a different and be charged twice never getting your money back from the reservation that they can not find. The rooms are very old, torn down, full of bugs, shower does not work, the bedding and pillows are gross, old and dirty. Matresses and... More

Pleasant people, clean comfortable room. Been there before. Coming back again, too. I must have 200 characters so I'm putting in more characters by typing a whole lot of more characters. I'm done now.

Best all-around deal in the Apple Hill/Tahoe aria. If you’re visiting Apple Hill this fall or on your way to Tahoe do yourself a favor stop in at this locally owned and family run hotel. I was impressed at the newly renovated rooms and great service. I come to the Placerville aria 4 of 5 times a year and this... More

As was mentioned in other reviews, this property and its neighbor to the south are owned by the same family; if there is nobody in the office, go to the next hotel down the hill and they are there. This is a bit unconventional and slightly inconvenient but, the owners are very nice, the price is right and that makes... More

Apparently, this is a completely ordinary and basic motel, alike many other motel along the highway in US. But in spite of its simplicity, there is something at the motel that has done that we have chosen to use this motel several times in a relatively short time. The motel has a very good location just a few minutes east... More

Wow. This place is just... awful. The office is vacant. You have to walk through another property to get to *another* motel to check in, then haul yourselves back up a hill to your room. The room had obviously been remodeled, but... that's about it. No cleaning. No clean bedding. Holes in ceiling. Missing smoke detector. A toilet that didn't... More

My family had to stay at this hotel when are apartment was being fixed. When we got in tbe room we noticed holes in the walls and that the place was very dirty. We canceled a day early and due to us cancling early the shared my personal information with a third party. I would be careful using a credit... More

We reserved a room at the Gold Trail Motor Lodge January 16-17, 2015. We arrived late that night and was charged an extra $25 per night for our 3rd person. The owners assigned room 12 at their adjoining Mother Lode Motel giving the excuse that no rooms were ready at the Gold Trail Motor Lodge. We walked into our room... More

On arrival we found that we had to check in at the adjacent motel, the owners (husband and wife) run) both motels. We were upgraded from a queen size to a king size room. The motel was an older style, the room although small was clean, comfortable and every thing worked including the wifi. No breakfast was served. The motel... More

I stayed overnight on business from southern California. This was easy to find and when I finely got to the hotel it was late. I was still able to check in and the staff was very friendly. When I made it to the room I was expecting something was worse, I was really surprised. Nothing too fancy, standard tv and... More
