We booked a last minute stay at the Eden Vale Inn and it far exceeded our expectations. David and Karen are excellent hosts. Their Digital Guest Book was so helpful with choosing restaurants and activities and they were available to ask questions in person. Our two breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed eating on our private deck. We enjoyed the town of Placerville - check out the Gold Bug Park Mine and go visit the wineries with the member day pass.

Thanks Carole! We're so glad you had a great time. This is the best time of year to enjoy the outdoor eating areas, too.

My wife and I have been vacationing at Eden Vale for years now. We have visited at least once per year for our anniversary just to get a relaxing restorative break from family life and to reconnect with each other and ourselves. The rooms are beautiful, the grounds even more beautiful, the breakfasts delicious, and the inn keepers Dave and Karen have become good friends. They are extremely personable, accommodating, and good humored. The surrounding area has a wealth of excellent food to be found, quirky shopping in historic downtown Placerville and tons of beautiful landmarks to explore - not the least of which is the American River. We look forward to returning for years to come. Cannot recommend Eden Vale enough. It is our annual oasis.

While I greatly appreciate the owners attempt to create a lovely and romantic setting, this property sits adjacent to a very busy main road with a lot of traffic noise. If you are seeking a truly quiet and peaceful setting, this is NOT it. I am VERY sensitive to noise and found this inn very different than what was portrayed on their web site.

As you stated in your review you are "VERY sensitive to noise" and while I disagree with Springvale Rd being a "very busy main road", I do empathize with your situation. At the front desk the first morning of your stay, your concerns seemed to focus on the gravel road along the back of the property. And its true that from your patio that can be heard. The fact is, sound carries much farther and differently than in the suburbs. When you approached us about an early departure, I did ask you if you felt misled by our website. You answered "no" but expected something different "because you're on 10 acres". Just to clarify, this region of the Sierra Foothills is zoned as rural residential with a minimum of 10 acres for every parcel. Admittedly we were surprised by your comments considering the many questions and lengthy phone conversation prior to your booking and arrival. Again, we empathize with your sensitivity to noise, appreciate your input, and wish you the very best in the future.

I stayed for five nights at the Eden Vale Inn. It was not my first visit and I have been several times. I was on my own and Karen and David could not have been more helpful. The room I had was fabulous. Everything is super clean, breakfast delicious. Sit around the fire pit watching the sun go down with a glass of wine. Get a massage with the amazing Barb in the spa. I didn’t want to leave.

If you are looking for peace of mind, toes in the soil, the sounds of nature, the smell of wild grasses filling the air and a room that creates an abundance of relaxation and romance, look no further: Eden Vale Inn! Dave and Karen were very hospitable. Also, on both mornings of our stay we were provided with a very delicious, tummy filling, farm fresh meal. We will for sure be back; already spreading the word amongst family and friends! Warmly, Chong & Britny

My friend and I spent three nights at Eden Vale and loved it! It is clean, magical, and the owners are fantastic. It is like staying at an exclusive resort, very comfortable and the rooms are modern and equipped with Wi-Fi, beautiful showers, and private soaking tubs in the gardens adjacent to the rooms. The entire grounds around the building are carefully planted and maintained gardens that have been there for many years so they are mature and make for a relaxed experience.

We needed a few days away from normal life. We got rain, hail, peace, quiet, and a beautiful place to experience it all. The outdoor tub was fantastic. The morning breakfast delivered to the room, amazing. The property, gorgeous. It was exactly what we needed and we'll definitely be back!

I would highly recommend staying here! This bed and breakfast is super nice and not like your usual bed and breakfast. The grounds are beautiful and everything is super updated. The bathtub and fireplace that come with the room are amazing and makes it so cozy! We felt so relaxed the whole time. Also, the free breakfast they bring to the room is so yummy, it feels like 5 star room service and it’s different everyday. The fruit that came with the breakfast was so fresh. They also offer a guest guidebook with free wine tastings for local wineries. It is a little far from downtown placerville and apple hill (20-30 mins), but that’s what makes it feel serene. Eden vale feels so serene and private, it’s the perfect little couple’s getaway :)
