Nestled in a prime location with scenic ocean vistas, SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel offers guests a tranquil atmosphere accompanied by live music and stylish decor. While the hotel's value is debated, with some questioning the price-to-comfort ratio, amenities such as beach access, fire pits, and jacuzzis receive high marks.
Reviewers applaud the cleanliness and family-friendly environment, but some have noted issues with room assignments and cleaning service schedules. The professional and helpful staff generally impress, though there are occasional mentions of service inconsistencies.

Detailed Reviews
Our family of four recently stayed 2 nights in a double queen. We thought the location was ideal. Close to the freeway and great beach access although be prepared to climb a lot of stairs on the way back up from the beach. The property is nice, clean and plenty of outdoor seating areas facing the ocean. Well manicured lawn areas. Patrons for the most part were adhering to wearing masks while moving about public areas. Decent options for take away breakfast. Pool access requires a reservation to minimize the amount of people. 1.5 hour time slots. I noticed staff frequently sanitize the door handles. The room location was less than ideal in my opinion but the rest of my family didn’t mind. We were in 105 directly adjacent to a fence between the hotel next door. Sorta felt like we were in a basement. We knew we weren’t getting ocean view but I was not expecting to face a fence I guess. If that’s important to you I would ask more specifics about the location of the room when you check-in. The room did have a small patio with 2 lounge chairs and a small table but it wasn’t very enticing to sit there given the lack of a view. Also, our AC unit was really loud when cooling and I had trouble sleeping with it on so we kept it off the second night. No complaints overall about cleanliness other than to mention that the floors are some type of laminate wood with a large rug under the beds. Definitely recommend wearing slippers or flip flops while walking about your room as those types of floors are difficult to keep clean. Especially with sand and all that comes with being near the beach. We would stay here again but next time would definitely opt for an ocean view room if available, there were none when we booked, or a room that was not facing the hotel next door.

I have gone up and down the coast for years, but never stayed over in Pismo Beach. But when an opportunity presented for a mini get away at this gem of a hotel in Pismo, we jumped at the chance. This hotel has a perfect location. As I stepped out my hotel door, before me is this stunning view of the beach with palm trees swaying against the back drop of the serene beach. Out in our patio, we can sit and languor, but spent many hours on the sand just down the path. Our daughter got lost in chasing beach treasures and had fun running from the high tide. Loved that you could meander along the beach and pop by the quaint downtown.
The hotel is updated and well appointed. The room was comfortable, clean and fresh, and did not skimp on furniture; you actually have counters & drawers to place your things and not on the floor! And you feel that they care for you and not just look hip and pretty. Great for all! Even w/ social distancing the hotel, at their continental breakfast, was respectful, wrapping individually the fruit, the English muffins, etc. And it was truly appreciated. Loved spending time at the the public outdoor patio w/ cocktails and relaxing by the fire pit. Loved our time there.

Our family spent a few days over Thanksgiving week at SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel. It was a beautiful resort, with a busy pool, lots of outdoor seating for safe congregating (COVID-19), a rooftop terrace and spacious room. We needed a change of scenery and this is exactly what we got. The staircase down to the beach is well maintained and frequently used. We walked into Pismo a few times as this is a great location - just outside of the tourism activity of Pismo town. The breakfast was plentiful - all individually wrapped portions to encourage safe consumption. The alcohol delivery service to the room was a great touch, too. Very friendly front desk and perfect location!

Unfortunately it was not the same experience as I had previously coming to the hotel in April. The rooms are spacious and the location is beautiful and with the direct beach access is wonderful but it seemed like there was a different type of crowd staying here this weekend. Instead of being a relaxing beautiful space there were several large groups of people packed into single hotel rooms and throwing parties in the outdoor space well into the night. It was after midnight and there was still loud music being played, loud conversations being had and beer bottles being clinked so we had to close all of our windows to limit the noise and did not get to listen to the ocean. Having reserved an ocean front deluxe room that is a main part of paying the extra money... to listen to and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Also, when I initially made the reservation weeks prior I had requested 4th floor. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. Not that big of a deal... but coupled with the excessive noise and the overstuffed rooms/party atmosphere
it just wasn’t the same experience I’ve had previously and was frankly disappointing. We were thinking about extending our stay for another night but ended up checking out early because of the overall feel of the hotel atmosphere this weekend. I did not complain while we were there because I did not want to be a “Karen” asking to speak to the manager but I was surely tempted at midnight when the parties below our window were going strong. I’m not sure if the first visit was a fluke and normally this hotel has a less than “classy” atmosphere or this weekend was just “off” and a bunch of people pooled their money together to fit several families/groups into single hotel rooms? Either way I’m not sure this will be the hotel we return to in a few weeks for our next trip.

I have to admit I was surprised at how much we enjoyed our stay here! First off the majority of traveler photo's are old and do not do this property justice. When you go to the website you will see the current photo's. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they also utilize your phone number as a way for you to text any needs you have. I recommend using the text system they responded very quickly each time I had a question. It is Covid times so housekeeping will not come to your room but they will provide you with any additional towels, soap etc. upon request. I recommend a coastal view room you will have a pretty sweet view of the property and ocean without the full ocean view price tag. Although updated it is an older hotel so yes the walls are a bit thin so if complete peace and quiet are on your agenda be warned. We spent so much time out of room it really wasn't an issue for me. The property is truly laid out to be enjoyed there are 3 outdoor seating areas with fire pits, tables, chairs and even barbecues. The pool was open without reservations but hot tubs were not. The beach access is right behind the pool are there is a gentle paved path and then about 75 stairs to get to a from the beach. We enjoyed the beach several times per day. Breakfast is grab and go each morning coffee and tea are available all day. There is an onsite restaurant open from 3-9 you can order food and drinks ( think to go cocktails).
The Pismo pier area was pretty quick walk via the beach ( although the pier was closed). We were looking for a little R&R so we didn't venture far from the property although we did drive to dinner one night the Villa Cantina and we picked up a pizza one night from ..........We will be back for sure. Try a mid week stay if your trying to be a little more budget friendly.

As always, our room was extremely clean. We stayed in the North Tower. The Deluxe rooms are very spacious, and our son loved the windows in the sitting nook.
The staff is very courteous and friendly. When we checked in, Bernie helped us, and she made sure we knew the names of the front desk crew working that evening. Throughout our stay, my family really appreciated how we were acknowledged with a sincere hello and a smile by all the employees along the property. The employees were very polite when closing the firepit areas, and because they actually close the areas, it's quiet at night.
We took advantage of the onsite barbeque grill for lunch and dinner; both times we found the equipment was clean and properly functioning. I highly recommend doing this if you enjoy grilling. Eating outside in the sunshine certainly invites friendly conversations with the other guests!
Another cool thing is this place is super family and pet friendly!! There is so much room for the family to play on grass areas, and the beach is fantastic. Can't wait to go back!

We travel a lot with our dog & are always in the look out for a nice hotel with a balcony, view, & GRASS. This fits all 3.
We splurged for a signature deluxe king (Rm 347). Best view here! HOWEVER, what we didn't anticipate was the Terrace Lounge right above with kids currently playing tag for the last 2 hours & still going. They did offer to change our room the next day, but the view just couldn't compare & we thought pounding noises here and there would be ok. It closes at 10pm. Today was the worse constant pounding of feet mixed in with screams, but if you don't plan to stay in your room very much, it's fine.
I would suggest to management to make the Terrace Lounge an adult only place in consideration of the people who pay good money to stay in this room since the phone call to the front desk really does nothing. I get it. There's nothing you can do if parents don't think it's a big deal. So no kids at all... Just like your spa would be great!
Other than the room issue, there's direct access to the beach on site that nearby hotel also uses. Great place during low tide for kids to play, dogs allowed but on leash. Bagels served at breakfast was also really good.
Also, Avila dog beach is about 15 minutes away (aka Olde Port Beach, pass the bridge & human beach) but the water is brown with green algae washing ashore. Dog's feet were green! 30 minutes away is Morro Bay (Cayusco) dog beach which is much larger & cleaner water.

Beautiful view, nice and open. The patio furniture is cute and I love the fire pits and heating lamps. Continental breakfast was well stocked and followed all covid-19 precautions, even the fruit was individually wraped. The pool was available by appointment only in an effort to social distance, personally I think they could have allowed more people at once in the pool, but I do appreciate the need to keep everyone safe. Overall great place to stay.

my wife and I and our two kids and one of their friends decided to rent a couple rooms and take a weekend getaway during covid19 with friends of ours, another couple who also brought two children. while the hotel seemed fresh, possibly remodeled more recently than others in the area, the rooms were definitely smaller than we were used to. the tub was weirdly small and the sink had restricted water flow (on purpose?) one of the rooms was too close to the parking lot and got a lot of light and noise coming in, especially at night. the other room opened right onto the grassy quad, which was nice during the day, but at night picked up a lot of noise from other guests also on the quad. there was no maid service, because covid19, so our room got messy real quick with so many kids in and out constantly. the pool had a signup list to use for 90 minute intervals with limited occupancy. the free breakfast was cut way back and was difficult to navigate due to covid19 accommodations (traffic flow etc). with so many limited amenities and services yet still charging full price for rooms, I would not recommend this hotel if you are used to other accommodations.

Response from Savannah Sevedge, Marketing at SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel
Responded Jul 13, 2020
Dear wlperkins66, Thank you for staying at the SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel during your recent trip to Pismo Beach. Operating a hotel during the pandemic certainly has its challenges with all the Covid-19 precautions in place. We hope you enjoyed your stay even with the changes we’ve had to make to keep everyone safe. Guest safety is always a priority of ours, especially now. Hopefully this all ends soon, and we can go back to offering the amenities that you and all of our loyal guests are used to. We have been offering different discounted rates plans, so please give me a call directly so I can make sure we honor one of those for your future stay. We look forward to seeing you again soon! My best, Heidi Kamas Assistant General Manager

We were blown away with our amazing stay at SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel. We stayed one night during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our room and the rest of the hotel was spotless and you could tell cleanliness was a priority to them. The check-in area had glass to separate the staff from the guests and there were six feet markers throughout the lobby. Amanda checked us in and she was a delight! She was so polite and informative. She offered us an upgrade to an ocean view at a minimum fee. It was worth the little bit extra cost because the view was spectacular! The only downside of the stay was that the pool and hot tub were closed. I'm assuming this was something they were required to do because of COVID-19. However, the beach was open and the view from our balcony made up for that. I also loved that the property has a staircase that leads directly down to the beach. So convenient. I definitely want to come back when things go back to some normalcy. Thank you SeaCrest for a much needed break from quarantine!

The Seacrest is pet friendly and pricey on the weekends. You might be able to find a lower rate by booking through a third party.
Higher rooms have the best views! Top floor is the most private.
Hi Megan!
Please visit our website, SeaCrestPismo, to see our current Covid protocols.
The Willow Restaurant is open for indoor and outdoor dining.
Yes we do have onsite fire-pits but they are first come first serve.
Landscape activities by the north tower
I am not sure about "family rooms". Our room had 2 queen beds. The room was large enough for us. I think 4 people would be comfortable in the double queen room. We had a partial/ocean view room which was nice.
