The rooms are all awesome. We've stayed in an oceanfront two bedroom and just this week at a partial oceanview one bedroom and I brought my cat with us this time. The service is above and beyond and now that COVID is with us, you can have groceries delivered right to your room via Instacart and enjoy cooking or grilling on their amazing barbecues.

I stayed here with my family back in August in a one-bedroom suite, and it was pretty heavenly. The standout was the room itself, which was a spacious suite with a fully-furnished kitchen, which was super-welcome during the COVID era. We had a partial oceanview room with a nice balcony looking toward the beach. Our only complaint is that our balcony happened to be located right above the Lido Restaurant patio, and so it felt a little awkward to be out on our balcony during peak meal times, as we could hear detailed conversations and every clink of the silverware. Service was good but mostly stayed out of the way, which is understandable during the COVID epidemic. I loved the location which was on a cliff overlooking the ocean, but with a 5 minute walk down some steps you were at a very pretty beach with tidepools and dramatic cliffs. It's about a 5 minute drive to downtown Pismo Beach, a 10 minute drive to Grover Beach, and a 15 minute drive to downtown San Luis Obispo. Lido Restaurant was very tasty, although on the slow side. A few restaurants and a bakery/market within easy walking distance. The property has a nice pool with lots of chairs and bar service. Overall, we loved it here and have been recommending it to all our friends.

Room Tip: I'd recommend not getting a room over the Lido Restaurant if you're sensitive to noise...

The hotel has a lot to offer, the rooms are big and clean. The windows were left open for fresh air when we arrived, which was a nice touch. However, both alarm clocks turned on at 6:00a.m., and extremely loud too. We tried to unplug them but they were battery operated. Hopefully, the hotel will read this review and check alarm clocks before admitting guests.

My best girl friends and I were looking for a new location to enjoy a weekend away of relaxation. The idea was to stay at the Cliffs as we've heard about it before, but with 5 girls sharing a room they recommended their sister property Dolphin Bay. We reserved a 2 bedroom suite and WOW was it a surprise on how spacious and nice it is. I'm in the luxury hotel industry (Front Office, Sales, Events experience) and was impressed. Full kitchen, dining table, open living space, 2 patios, very bright, and clean! We were bummed the spa was closed, but understand the circumstances and we made alternate plans. The pool was nice, plenty of space and very warm for an early evening swim! We did take out from the restaurant both nights. The food was good. All the staff we came in contact with were extremely nice and smile on their faces. I have to recognize Jay, Bellman/Valet. He was very welcoming upon arrival, especially after we just got through a 4+ hour drive. Super friendly and asked questions about our plans and where we were from, etc. At check out he was just as friendly, but additionally wouldn't let us leave without washing off our windshield as he knew we had a long drive home. While our intention was to have an adult, kid free weekend, this would also be a great space for bringing the families. We will be back either for our next girls getaway or with our families. Thank you for an enjoyable time!

September 21, 2019 we celebrated our daughter and son in law's wedding at the Dolphin Bay. The wedding was perfection. The site is breathtaking, the service FABULOUS -best service ever, the food was top notch and the one and two bedroom suites were exceptional. Our family and friends were amazed at the facility and amenities. It is a hidden gem and the picture perfect wedding was worth every dime. Krysta, the wedding coordinator was outstanding seeing to every detail. Lisa Carnes, Front Desk Manger, was remarkable keeping all the reservations straight. A shout out to our excellent vendors, Epic Entertainment, Ricardo of Elegant Details, Central Coast videography and Kristyn Villars Photography. We are still reliving the celebration a year later and can't wait to go back to visit.
