This motel can appear a little run down from the outside and even in the rooms the decor is a little out dated, but when you go to the balcony and look outside the ocean is right there and you forget about the outdated decor. If you can I suggest you request a room facing the ocean and I was... More

I have stayed here numerous times when visiting Pismo and still keep coming back! The accommodations are simple and outdated, but comfortable and clean. We usually get the suite with a connecting room which is perfect for 4-6 people. Love being able to have a kitchen to heat up leftovers or make breakfast. You can't beat the beautiful view and... Our family took and extended weekend getaway. The Sea Gypsy was the perfect place to just park our car for a few days and relax on the beach. The room was clean, spacious and had a well stocked full kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. Even with a partial view, we were still able to see the whales as they... More

The Sea Gypsy is a condo hotel where individual owners rent their unit. Relative to other Pismo hotels, the rooms are a bit smaller but more than adequate. All rooms have been renovated in the last two years. To access the beach, use the exit door across from the laundry facilities, two levels down from the main floor. Parking is... More

This was our first time staying at the sea gypsy. Overall the experience was excellent. The location absolutely cannot be beat and most rooms have an excellent full Oceanview. The pool isn't much fun but you can tell from the website photos what to expect. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff are very helpful as well. Overall for the... More

We stayed at the sea gypsy for a family gathering over Labor Day. The rooms were large and the ocean view from the second floor - even with a building in front of us - wasn't bad. The full-sized fridge was convenient and the location right in town was great. I was a little dubious of the fold-down Murphy bed... More

We need somewhere to put our heads down for the night and we found this nice little motel on the beach. It was perfect as we had a sort of an apartment so my son slept in one room and we in another. It had all the basic amenities plus a few more like a microwave. The place was clean.... More

Turned up on spec as the motel we were planning on staying in did not look very nice. We opted for a room that did not look over the beach as the motel is right on the beach so did not need to. Reasonably priced and the staff are really nice. Good breakfast in the morning to send us on... More

Had a great vacation at Pismo Beach while staying at the Sea Gypsy. Love that it's right on the beach, so no driving. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed to cook in the kitchen. The staff is very friendly! The only downside is the thin walls, if there are loud guests, who'll hear them. Bring earplugs... More

I have stayed here twice. Condition of the room was good. Quiet enough during the week but weekends were another matter. Hard to sleep with partiers roaming around yelling and going on until the wee hours of the more morning. Also, our sleep was disrupted by loud, very loud pipes and what was probably a bad water heater on the... More
