This was my 5th stay and I LOVED all the improvements and enhancements.
The refurbished rooms are wonderful creating more interior space and much more comfortable furnishings.

We are soooo grateful for their pet policy. The ground floor rooms are so easy, with an good sized outside patio leading to an expansive front lawn.

The new bridge leading north adds a fantastic walking route looking down to dramatic sea cliffs and a gorgeous gazebo perched over the ocean.

And the kitchenettes are so handy with microwave, good sized mini-fridge, coffee makes, sink and plenty of storage. We actually cook sloppy Joe meat the night before, bring buns and heat the meat in the microwave for our first night dinner. We also bring plenty of beverages, snacks and lunch meat for sandwiches.

And Pismo Beach is so easy. We never find crowds and always find a parking space at the beach or downtown. And in a short driving distance some great beach parks with dunes and wetlands. So much variety and breathtaking scenery and dramatic vistas.

The hotel staff is excellent from hassle free check-in to the thorough housekeeping and breakfast room staff who keep the buffet area ckean and always make sure all food items are continuously stocked.

I also like how management gives you the option on a daily basis to forgo housekeeping that day for a $10 credit. We opted out every other day and it was nice not having to worry about securing the dogs those days we didn't have housekeeping.

My only complaint is to reduce environmental waste they eliminated toiletry bottles and furnished larger dispensers in the shower.

I applaud their decision but the liquids are very difficult to dispense. You stand there awkwardly squeezing these vertical attached bottles while only getting a little bit of usable liquid.

They should install pump bottles that
dispense more liquid.

Otherwise it's a perfect stay.

We ended up staying here unexpectedly. We stayed the night before at a different hotel in Pismo. My parents and some other family members were staying the night at Lighthouse Suites and we were going to head home. A flash flood hit unexpectedly and sent our trip into a tail spin! The rain was coming down too hard for us to leave and the hotel grounds started flooding. Staff was on top of it and made sure rooms were safe and water was clearing. They did a fantastic job! Pumps were brought into the outdoor areas and water was cleared out quickly. After watching the rain poor for quite a while and the forecast calling for the rain to continue, we decided it was not safe to continue home. Due to the wonderful double rooms at this hotel my parents offered to let us stay in their suite. We checked with the office to see if that was ok, and they were so nice about it. They gave us an extra set of room keys and we were all set. The room was very spacious! We each had our own bathroom. My parents were able to close the door to their side of the suite and we all had our own beds and each family had their own bedroom and bathroom. We had a very quiet and great nights sleep. The next day we were all ready to head home, although we wished we could stay longer to see the sun come out and enjoy the beach!

The flash flood had caused water to leak into the roof of my Dad's car the day before. We were hoping it had dried out over night and would be ready to roll in the morning. Unfortunately his car was in full "limp mode" and was not driveable. After thinking for a while, he decided he needed to get the car home for repairs. In order to do this, he would have to wait until the next day to rent a Uhaul to get it home. My parents had already checked out when they realized they would have to somehow stay another night. They went to the hotel office to inquire. The front desk staff was so wonderful and understanding of this unusual situation. After hearing what had happened, they let my parents stay an additional night at the same price they paid the night before. I am so grateful for Lighthouse Suites making what could have been a really miserable situation so much better. I really cannot say thank you enough to your warm and exceptional staff. We spoke with several people in reception as all of this unfolded and all of them were more than happy to help us. We will return again for a much more relaxing stay sometime soon.

No, it's not your fancy fancy hotel with orchids on your pillow, but it is super clean, functional, friendly and perched right above the sweetest part of the beach, a little private cove with caves and perfect waves for beginner surfers and little tidal pools here and there. It's great for families with kids, although our family's kids are 'grown' they still played on the fun playground in the middle of the hotel. The staff at the front desk (Tim, Becky, Lisa, Serenity) are great and took care of any need we had. More than that, the entire staff (Roberto, Racelly, Ismael, to name only a few...) were all warm and welcoming, making us feel like part of their family with warm smiles and service. The rooms were perfectly clean and functional and the cookies at the front desk were a win with my kids. The hotel and rooms are nicely 'appointed' with a lighthouse theme which is not cliche but tastefully orchestrated throughout - a clean, simple, yet elegant and comfortable aesthetic. There were a few minuses- the pool was small and the hot tub rarely hot ( I kept running in and turning on the jets in the morning). The scrambled eggs were very bland (powder, I believe, mixed with water) but they had tamales (surprisingly good) , waffles, and plenty of other little options. There is a bit of a walk and climb up and down to the beach, but it has good handrails, stairs that are not too steep, and the whole descent/ascent offers great views, a chance to meet interesting people along the way, and is an excellent way to stay in shape. I'm over 60, with bad knees, and I did fine by going a little slower. Also, originally I was disappointed to be so far away from down town, but it is a pleasant walk to the pier and the hotel is out of the crazy traffic and somewhat intense street life of that area with excellent access to 101 for exploring the area. I loved this little slice of sea and sky, along with the cute squirrels and bunny on the back law.

Began staying at the Pismo Lighthouse Suites years ago when it was a new property, and I return regularly. It is my "go-to" place because of the beautiful views, comfortable surroundings, location, and accommodating staff. Most recently, spent 9 days there, 5 of which were a "working vacation." Because of the pandemic we are teleworking, so decided to work with a view. Because of the extra sanitization protocols, we felt safe and enjoyed the respite from working at home. Looking at the ocean over the top of my laptop computer did me a world of good!

The master bedroom was very uncomfortable the mattress needs to be changed and the worst part was that the carpet was filthy. This carpet needs to be changed or steam cleaned. My feet were black and i was forced to purchase flip flops to wear around the room. My daughter who is 18 months i could not let her run around and touch this dirty floor. if you do not believe me walk around bare foot for 15 minutes and check the bottom of your foot. This is disgusting. This place is a nice but the cleanliness is poor.

This hotel is really family oriented. It had a great play ground. On Saturday night there was an old school ice cream truck selling ice cream in the lobby.

The room was very spacious. It was great that there were two separate rooms and the kids had their own bathroom and area to hang out. There was a fridge and microwave that was very convenient. The morning breakfast was good. Although i wished the menu varied. They served tamales and frozen breakfast wraps/burritos every morning. Some varied would have been appreciated especially since we were paying Labor day weekend rates.

The bath products that they provided smelled great.

They had plenty of parking available and the spaces were nice and large.

All the staff were wearing masks and kept their distance.

In terms of the cons, there is no easy beach access. So if you have little kids or mobility issues, the beach is hard to get to. Many of the hotels on that stretch share a single staircase and it is a long way down and even longer to get back up. I work out daily and I was out of breath after going up. This is not a beach front hotel, but an ocean front hotel built on a cliff.

I found the bed way to hard for my taste. Woke up every morning with a back ache.

The stairs to the rooms were not swept and were full of feathers and leaves.

The bathrooms could have been cleaner/updated.

Last minute booking got lucky on such a wonderful place.
I was a little skeptical at first without researching before an unplanned road trip. I called the hotel directly and booked over the phone (best price) direct booking.
The night manager was very friendly and recommended an Oceanfront Suite considering it was my first visit to Pismo.
I later discovered it was totally worth the extra few dollars and as a way to ensure my expectations the manager assigned me a room (3203) at time of booking.
The room was well above average.
1 bedroom suite, 1 full bath and 1 1/2 bath with shower.
Living area has a fold out bed and all the appliances and amenities like home except a stove.
The icing on the cake was the view from the balcony Simply Amazing Sunsets. I highly recommend the Oceanfront suite preferably on the second or third floor for a little more privacy and an unobstructed view of the ocean, beautiful sunset as you enjoy a nice beverage while taking it all the surrounding beauty.
After things settled down a bit I wasn’t a bit surprised the LightHouse got great reviews.
- [ ] I apologize to the night manager for not remembering your name, however your a gentleman and earned a A+ for making our stay wonderful and memorable.
- [ ] We Thank all the staff from booking to house keeping.
- [ ] LightHouse is on my to return schedule.

Our suite was huge, very clean and nicely decorated in a "beach theme". The cleaning staff were always doing something outside and around the buildings due to COVID. The restrictions the hotel placed were very reasonable and made me feel more comfortable with making this trip. The staff at the front desk and in the Galley breakfast area were friendly and helpful. The view from our ocean front balcony was spectacular, the balcony was private, and there were 2 chairs and a table. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star review is that I was a little stunned by the price when we added on one more night to our stay. I know it was Memorial Day weekend and this was a little minute addition. However, I thought that our being a guest for 3 nights and adding this additional night might allow them to give us a better price.

We felt like we were on a cruise ship in a room with a balcony. The property is very compact and family oriented. If you do not like kids running around, then this isn't the place for you. We enjoyed the play area mid-day when everyone was off on excursions. One had to have reservations to use the pool, even when there was no one using the pool. I did miss that this property doesn't have an area to relax along the ocean, like other properties in the area.

We stayed in an ocean front suite, on the 2nd floor. The room is long, with the bedroom near the walkway and the living space ocean front. We left our sliding doors open so that we could hear the pounding of the waves. One can watch the sunset from their room. I was surprised with the tiny sink and very small refrigerator. Since this is a family oriented property, one would expect a larger refrigerator and sink to at least make lunch. The bedroom stays dark all day due to the overhang for the walkway. Our room was across from the elevator which meant people can look into the bedroom if your curtains are open.

Unfortunately the guests in the room above us had a toddler who, according to the front desk, felt it necessary to allow their child to stomp around before bedtime to get rid of his excess energy. We were told the child was 1 year, but the noise was such one would think an 80 pound child was upstairs. We put up with this for 4 nights. So ask to stay on the 3rd floor.

Due to Covid the breakfast was wrapped, and compared with other places we have stayed, it actually wasn't bad. The tamales are excellent.

Our main complaint was the price that is being charged to stay on a Saturday night. We received a #bookdirect discount, but our room still cost $450 for Saturday night, while the other nights were $250. We have travelled extensively and this is not a $450 a night property. This is flat out price gouging. They are taking advantage of the fact people are staying in their own state, rather than travelling throughout the US, or to Europe.

While we enjoyed staying oceanfront, I don't think we'd stay here again.

Family of 4 plus added guests stayed the week prior to Memorial Day Weekend. We love this place and this is just an updated review of our recent stay. Our previous review still speaks currently of the hotel with the exception of Covid policies.

Staff here is ALWAYS great! They are accommodating, friendly, and try their best to assist with your needs. Shout out to Becky, Suzanne, Cole, Erik, and Tim. Great people.

Currently, you are greeted with masked employees at the front desk (and everywhere else really.) This is by far the cleanest I have ever seen the hotel. They have sanitizer and wipes readily available for the public and for the decks many games.

The most impressive "thing" we saw this time around was the turn over of the rooms. Not so much the timeliness, but the thoroughness of the cleaning. I counted at least 4 individuals from housekeeping that deep cleaned several rooms. They got in a lot of nook and crannies, and all of the high touch areas and surfaces. They deep cleaned the carpets, and scrubbed the tile floors. We felt that housekeeping did a bang up job of sanitizing between guests. We felt safe and clean in our rooms.

The only downside this trip was that the water was shut off on the property for a couple hours on two days. The water pressure was also pretty lacking (like you have to stand there for some time to get the shampoo out.)

This will always be our go to hotel for Pismo Beach. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Yes-in the oceanfront suites we have stayed in there was a whole other separate "kitchen/bar" sink area from the restroom - counter-cabinets-microwave-refrigerator-coffee/tea maker etc....located in the Living room area...there is a table with two chairs.I hope this helps. (no stove top)
