We had a double-bed room on the first floor, and it was very loud and noisy. You could hear people walking by and talking, it seemed like people just hang out in the parking lot. There was also construction going on on and off until 5pm! The room has been updated, the bathrooms are beautiful and very clean. However the... More

I'm sorry if the prices were high when you stayed with us, weekend prices are sometimes 300% higher than week day off season rates, but we we are within 20.00 of the discount hotel about five blocks farther away from the beach with no amenities. We do have a small ocean view where you can see the pier and the... More

Rooms were scarce due to the annual Clam Festival and rates were sky high. Not close to the pier - although clerk said it was a 15 minute walk, we chose to drive as it looked much farther. Auto lights in the room kept going dark even while you're in the room which was annoying (manager says they're in the... More

Yes, we've remodeled half of the hotel bathrooms at this point and removing the automatic lighting is high on the priority list. There are plenty of lamps and non-automatic lighting in the rooms but as you've seen guests typically prefer only using a single light switch. I'm sorry you had one of the rooms that has not yet been remodeled.... More

I'm sorry you were checked into one of the rooms that has not yet had the bathroom remodel, we are working quickly to get every bathroom in the hotel looking and working brand spanking new. Regarding the microwave, most likely that was the surge protector being triggered I'm sorry you had to wait. Regarding the price, hotel room rates fluxuate... More

Let me begin this review by stating that I am completely comfortable with staying at a below average hotel. However, when you are paying $300 a night for a hotel, it better not be below average. This hotel would not be one we would return to, unless we had no other choice. There are many hotels in the area, I'd... More

Hi Shauna, let me begin by saying I'm very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. To explain how room rates work, our regular off-season weeknight stay is 79.00, about 20.00 above the discount hotel down the street with no amenities. If there is a special event going on in the county and we expect every hotel in the area... More

We spent 2 nights over the weekend, and can find nothing at all to complain about. The price was very reasonable, the rooms clean and very comfortable with all amenities, and the desk staff friendly and accommodating. They made sure our two rooms were right next to each other and brought extra towels when we requested them. The breakfast area... More

Each time I drive from Northern to Southern California, I break up the trip by staying here. The rooms are clean, well appointed and spacious. There is no ocean view, but I donot mind that. It's more important that the room is quiet and away from the freeway. Breakfast area is a tad crowded but the friendliness of the staff... More

This hotel is not your luxury hotel choice. It's a very basic hotel... a place to sleep. Even sleep might not be easy because it is in a noisy location and the beds are not very comfortable. It is ok if you are on a budget. I woke up very stuffed up nasally so I assume not the cleanest in... More

I would agree we are a basic hotel, and yes the building is older but we pride ourselves on how modern our remodeled interiors are and being very clean (I'm not sure what caused your nasal congestion). We do consider ourselves a great value vs hotels that can be of lower quality but a few blocks closer to the beach... More

Loved the place as a kid ... more as an adult. Without a doubt it's the best part of California. Wine country and the pacific coast in one location. Great location great seafood ,,, not a lot of travel getting there.

This is an average hotel. Like many other Choice Properties we stayed at during this trip, this could afford a little fact lift. Room was fair sized. Heating and AC was loud. It kept tripping off and on trough out night and was annoying. Lot of noise from parking lot. Neighbor seemed good though and conveniently located.
