This property is owned by the UC Berkeley alumni association. We were there in between seasons, so the facility felt somewhat empty. It is more like renting a cabin than a full-fledged resort. That said, the cabin was comfortable, with quality bedding and towels. The cabin we stayed in had a small kitchen, but only one pot, so if I... More

Omg! So terribly terribly TERRIBLY disappointed as to what has happened to our once beloved Pinecrest Chalet!! I can't even explain how horrible it is now...so pricey but what for? Where is the volleyball net? Who in the heck could even play basketball in that idiotic set up? Why is the pool so dirty and with broken tiles? Why aren't... More

The Pinecrest Chalet is a beautiful location. The cabins were fantastic and accommodated our family well. The bigger cabins can very comfortably hold a large family, but even the smaller cabins had room for 2 adults and 2 children. The view was phenomenal and the hotel sits right next to a river! The hotel is near multiple attractions for both... More

We chose to stay at Pinecrest chalet because of its close vicinity to Dodge Ridge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom chalet that had a full kitchen (stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave). The chalet was overall clean, on the well-worn side. Functional for certain. Kitchen stocked with just enough place settings and just enough other stuff, but you can make... More

We stayed here during the winter break. We had the four bedroom house. It was perfect for four families. It was very cold and snowing so we did not get a chance to enjoy the amenities available at the chalet, but the house was very comfortable and had all the usual amenities to make us comfortable..The location is 2 miles from the Dodge... We were a large wedding party of about 100 people. If you like Rustic type wedding party in this part of America this is the place.we did not see any wild bears but they are there! and you are not supposed to leave any food stuff in your vehicles! because will try to break open and damage the vehicle. There... More

We've stayed here twice now for an annual trip we do with 7 families--and it is awesome! The entire staff took great care of us with meals and activities to keep even the little kids in our group (all under 11 years old) fed and entertained. We love the fact that the kids can roam freely in the beautiful woods... More

This place is not fancy, but it is lots of fun. We had the Programming and Food options and happy we got both. The food is simple, but hearty. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. This was a great Winter Lair experience!

We just returned from a Winter Lair weekend at Pinecrest Chalet. Fresh air, clean and quiet accommodations, good food cooked by someone else (not me!)... As long-time campers at the Family Camp next door (Lair of the Bear) we felt we were in the lap of luxury in our cozy little cabin with gas fireplace and full bathroom (!) plus... More
