As seen in Sunset, Food & Wine and Departures Magazines, The Madrones is an Agriturismo style destination which offers just four luxurious guest quarters for travelers who seek something unique and intimate in rural setting. This is not a hotel or B&B, so the service is very low touch...no daily maid service is provided. Perfect for travelers looking for a place to get away without someone hovering over you. If you are looking for accommodations rich in amenities, such as spas, restaurants, room service & breakfast, this is probably not a good fit. Surrounded by vineyards and wineries in the heart of the Anderson Valley, this Mediterranean styled compound which was originally a home and private business has garnered prestigious national awards and recognition. The property has four separate tasting rooms offering local small lot wines, as well as a curiosity store, cheese counter and private gardens.

We managed to get a room on a busy weekend on our way to dinner at The Bewildered Pig - The Madrones and The Pig are a perfect combination as they are close by. Cyndee was wonderful helping us to select a perfect room for a romantic getaway and also to give us an easy late arrival process with artwork included on our welcome envelope. Loved the low impact arrival. Our room was perfect as were the treats left in our fridge for breakfast!

I stayed here last week, which has become an annual thing. This time I stayed in the kitchen, which was a very nice, large, two bed room. The room was very nice inside. The wifi worked well as did the tv. We enjoyed the food provided for each morning, including orange juice, cereal, muffins, and milk. We enjoyed the tasting rooms on site and nearby. I plan to return next week, as do my friends.

So glad we chose to stay here for our Anderson Valley experience. All the wine tasting nearby, two redwood groves to explore (Hendy Woods & Indian Creek), sandwiches from Lemon's Market, dinner at the Bewildered Pig, lunch at the pizzaria at the Madrones, great little suite in Estate Cottage 1, gardens at sunset with wine & cheese, nice little stocked fridge for breakfast. We stayed 3 nights and just loved it!

We found The Madrones to be a wonderful wine weekend accommodation. All of the staff were very friendly. Our room ("The Livingroom") was a large and lovely decorated room with a small kitchenette (very convenient). The restaurant and tasting rooms on the premises were also fantastic. Right in the heart of the Anderson Valley, perfect location for visiting wineries. We'd certainly stay again.

Logger's Cabin was the perfect getaway for our family of 3 (2 adults, 1 baby and 1 dog. It was stocked with more than we'd expected (small stovetop and dishwasher in addition to the refrigerator), and we loved the thoughtful basic breakfast that was provided. Service was also very considerate. Housekeeping was so sweet, and the front desk kindly mailed back my iPhone, which had gotten left behind in the commotion of packing up all the baby gear and dog gear. The cabins are set apart from the other quarters on the Brambles property, but we recommend walking down to the redwoods, which are beautiful. While the whole Anderson Valley area in general is a hidden gem within Northern California, we felt like The Brambles in particular was a great escape - the right dose of comfort with warm hospitality and easy access to great food. Although one day of our stay was cool and rainy, we had enough room to spread out that we didn't feel cooped up. As others have noted, there is road noise from the cabin. We also had loud music with a thumping base on one night. However, we brought ear plugs for us and a sound machine for the second bedroom, and that was sufficient for a good night's sleep. The only thing we can think of to ask for would be blackout curtains in the smaller bedroom. We're excited to return and seeing how the property develops over time!
