Stayed in a pool/vineyard view king room. Quite nice. Staff was perfectly attentive. Restaurant, while pricey, exceptional. I had some food issues and they took fabulous care and provided a delicious dinner.

We were meeting up with friends who were staying nearby and my husband found this GEM on-line. The customer service was impeccable from valet, to check in, to being taken to our beautiful, patio room. What a find and I’m very particular. The restaurant was very good and a great selection of many things to choose from. They even had a personalized doggie menu and treats for our little girl upon check in. The property is spectacular with artwork, sculptures, and Geonome Rock formations(the angel wings in the tasting tasting room were my favorite) along with beautiful Angel in the entry way. Beautiful hand carved furniture and unique stone tables throughout. The owner is definitely a collector of fine pieces from all over the world! We will definitely be back! Such a treat and a great find! Wish I had more pics to share. You need to come here to see for yourselves 👍😎❤️ Can’t wait to go back!

Allegretto was a great place to stay, about 2 miles away from downtown. The King room was nice - very comfortable and plush bed. The staff - very friendly and helpful. I realized I lost a pair of sunglasses after I left, spoke to Rich the GM, and he had his team search and find them for me! Thanks for the hospitality! Be sure to watch the hotel video that shows up on your TV screen when you first turn it on - that's how we found the sound garden area and gazebo.

Relaxing doesn't come easy after being wound up, but after 24 hours, I left the Allegretto refreshed, calm and happy. The small resort sits quietly next to its vineyard less than two miles (3 km) from Paso Robles's downtown square. The Allegretto doesn't fit a standard marketing niche. It doesn't cater to unruly children. It doesn't have brochure racks. It doesn't have a gift shop, and the pool sits in a semi-private area between the hotel and the vineyard, not in the central public courtyard. While not crowded, the pool was in constant use; as was the onsite restaurant. Similarly to Hearst and his castle, but at a far smaller scale, Doug Ayers, the directing manager of the 20+ Ayers hotels, shaped the Allegretto after his interests. The resort combines an impeccably built, rustic Italian architecture and hardscrabble landscaping with elements of Christianity and Buddhism. While seemingly incongruent, the meld brings serenity, loftiness, and a connection to the earth. The expansive number of sculptures and significant minerals combined with two labyrinths, one with ambient sound, will surprise you. As you walk into the lobby, your impression maybe "I've seen this before," but you will leave with "I haven't seen this before. What a great place." The Allegretto Vineyard Resort achieves a level, a comparable resort in Napa, the Meritage, doesn't quite hit. The staff is quite young but exceedingly professional and well trained. Registration went smoothly. When I inquired about wine tasting, the clerk reached beneath her desk and handed me an unmarked envelope containing numerous discounts. She also remarked that the onsite tasting room was only a few discreet steps away. At the same moment, the General Manager walked by and suggested the Allegretto 2015 Reserve Tannat. He discussed their training system and the wine-making. Please don't anticipate this extra level of service, but you may get lucky. By the way, the Tannat was excellent. Mr. Ayers has created a successful winery. Familiarize yourself with this grape. It copes with global warming well, and Allegretto Vineyards is a leader (sadly) in the effort to protect the future. Our room was luxurious without pretense; except for the exquisite robes which were great for wearing while walking to the pool. A Keurig coffee maker was present with a nice mix of K-cups. If you have favorites; you may want to bring them. There was an outlet and space for a small microwave. I would have liked one, but there may have problems with their abuse. The walk to your room may be longer than you may expect. For quiet, the elevators and staff rooms are located and isolated in one corner of the three-level building. After arrival, stroll the floors and grounds, observe the artwork and the simplicity of the many round stones. Walk up the hill and through the vineyard. Afterword, stop for a beverage and relax. Consider borrowing one of the free tandem bikes. The area surrounding the resort is safe, quiet and not too busy; surprising since you're only one big block from the 46. If you go wine tasting, you won't feel the need to rush or travel far. In short, Mr. Doug Ayers has created a unique vineyard resort that will revive you calmly with quick access to the many other wineries in Paso Robles. He deserves kudos for improving Paso Robles. The area has needed a new resort for decades.

Very nice but front desk was unwilling to honor a second and third night at the same price as first night (40% more) so we spent the rest of our stay at another very nice hotel. Wish they had been more accommodating. Restaurant looked nice as well but extremely over-priced especially when you're so close to multiple great restaurants in the area that are quite a bit less and offer Happy hour pricing or free corkage.
