Best boutique hotel experience we've had. Customer service is excellent. Front desk (Jordan) is so helpful as well as the bellman and bartender, all very professional and friendly. The rooms are well appointed and beds are comfy. We loved having customized Smore's out by the fireplace and then made to order English breakfast. Very intimate and cozy vibe. All the good restaurants were within walking distance. We didn't experience any street noise from our room either. We actually went to Allegretto first and it felt like a typical mid-range hotel, nothing that special but it is less expensive than Cheval. However, you get what you pay for and Hotel Cheval is worth every penny. Also recommend La Cosecha, the pizza and scallops were very good.
Incredible attention to every detail in this beautiful hotel, we had a great time. Easy walking to town square, shopping and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast is wonderful and the hotel bar is great. The staff can't do enough for guests which really makes a stay there a special experience.
I stayed at Hotel Cheval one year ago and returned for a three night stay again this year. The customer service and attention to detail is amazing at this hotel and worth every penny. In advance of my stay, Dorine - the general manager - assisted me with restaurant and winery reservations. All as taken care of prior to our arrival. Once we arrived, there was a bottle of sparkling wine waiting in the room - as well as a deck or cards. As the staff remembered that my friend and I like to play cards in the bar. This years, I stayed in the Rosebud room which features not only a fireplace but a private patio. Breakfasts at the Cheval are included. The Avocado Toast or the Bagel and Lox are both great options. Hotel Cheval is THE place to stay when you're in Paso.
We have stayed in a number of Paso hotels over the years, but Cheval is by far the best. Service is outstanding, hotel is comfortable, really well maintained and clean. Easy walking to town square, shopping and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast is wonderful and the hotel bar is great. The staff can't do enough for guests which really makes a stay there a special experience
We recently stayed at Hotel Cheval on a wine weekend get away. It was our first time wine tasting, first time away from our kids and first vacation in a long time. Everyone at Hotel Cheval really helped make it an amazing experience. They advised us, assisted with all of our planning, made sure that everything was in order for us and provided a beautiful, relaxing environment. I was a perfect trip and we could not have had the same experience without them. While we saw a number of beautiful places we could stay if we ever return to Paso Robles, I cannot imaging staying anywhere else.
When we first decided to finally take a trip to the Paso Robles wine country, I went to the internet to check my trusted sites and dog friendly listings to create my list of possibilities. I found lots of recommendations and reviews. I then began to call my top selections. I call before I book because we have Stella, a frenchie, who loves to take road trips with us. After a few frustrating errors in "dog friendly" places, I learned to call and confirm. When I called Hotel Cheval, I explained the purpose of my call. The young lady I spoke with assured me they were dog friendly. When I told her my husband takes Stella out to a grassy area immediately upon awakening, she assured me that she had the perfect room for us. That made me feel that this was the right place for our stay. Several weeks before our arrival, I received an email from one of the staff, Dorine. She encouraged me to call her about recommendations for restaurants and wineries. I am so glad I called her. I had started my list of wineries and restaurant reservations, but she stepped up our experience. She made calls for us to places she thought we would love based on our conversation. Yes, she called me and personally helped me! When we arrived, they had or ev space ready for our car and greeted us as their first priority. Our room was wonderful. It had a patio for us to sit and enjoy. The location was perfect for Stella and my husband to take care of her business I am very particular about having a clean room and was so pleased that it was both clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and the barista made great cappuccinos for us. After a long day of wine tasting and driving through beautiful canyons and wineries, it was so nice to come home to a patio with a huge lit fireplace and Jim making s'mores for us. We had such a wonderful experience that we have already made reservations to return next March. We appreciate the kindness and gracious hospitality that the Hotel Cheval staff provided for both the two legged and four pawed guests.…
This Hotel exceeded our expectations. Location is just perfect walking distance from bars, restaurants, and the best downtown Paso has to offer. The hotel is pristine and impeccable, with an A+ amicable staff who facilitate wine tours and tips on where to go. The courtyard and rooms are incredible as well. Will come back and stay here. Incredible staff all around.
We stayed for 4 nights in June and loved everything about Hotel Cheval. The rooms were roomy, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. The staff were attentive and super helpful. The restaurant had a great atmosphere outside, with good food and drink. The attention to detail really set it apart from other places we’ve stayed. And last but definitely not least, the s’mores were amazing!
So...always wanted to stay here, kind of a bucket list place. Making some good money lately so we pull the trigger. Get to the room and it smells like SUPER DUPER strong bleach....no biggie, they care about being clean, THEN the mold smell takes over...disgusting, terrible...go to office to tell tell them, and they say we must be loopy no one else has ever complained? We ask for a fan and they give us a heater, then they end up giving us a fan....all windows open and the fan blowing and it still smells of mold. Asked for a different room...none available..asked for some fabreeze...they will see what they can do, they were fully annoyed at our request and concerns and had no f's to give. Felt like we were bugging them about the stinky room...lol. They did give us a discount on the room so instead of $1500 for 2 nights it was $1200,,,,not worth it....stay somewhere else. Total rip off, The manager at the end said sorry...so that was nice and said that they had mold issues in that room before....so .....stay somewhere else.…
The rooms were outstanding and the Staff amazing. The breakfast staff were a breath of fresh air and could not do enough for you. Your wish was their command. Custom S’more’s at night from the crackling fires. Location in the middle of everything! Book with extreme prejudice for you next wine country trip and be prepared to be Wowed in every way. Almost forgot The Bar staff were at your beckoned call and what atmosphere. A Special thx to the front desk staff that made our stay extra special Alex Montague
