I never write a bad review - but, had to share, that My friend & I really had a very bad experience here! We were told, very late that same day, that things were closing an hour early because of a staff meeting. Spoke to a woman named Jaime who was a bit abrupt and let us know what was going on with no apology. This was after we had made reservations a few days before. (The same thing happened with a couple, with whom we had spoken that same tasting, traveling up from San Diego) We arrived a little after 3 and had no “hellos or welcome”, just a look at her watch and she said “there isn’t a lot of time, the tasting will be rushed” I said “You must be Jaimie?” She said “Yes” and quickly poured a little bit of wine and said “Sit anywhere and I will be out to give you more tastings” We sat for a bit and admired the pretty vineyard. However, after 15 minutes no one came to our table to give us a description or a second tasting! We brought our glasses up to the counter, where Jaimie was, and she poured a second tasting with NO explanation of the wine(s)... we went back to our seats... after 15 minutes, no one came again — so, we went back up there and same thing - she quickly poured another tasting with no explanation given until my friend asked her about it! She quickly gave a vague description and went back to her business — like it was a big imposition— at NO time were we served at our table! She was incredibly rude- with no explanation- The wines were okay, but perhaps if we had a better experience they would have been more enjoyable! We won’t be going back. We will not be recommending this place to anyone. No visitor should be treated like that from a “host”! On a lighter note: Before speaking with Jaimie, I thought Katie & Melanie were very sweet on the phone and very gracious. Perhaps Jaimie could pick up some pointers from them?…
House is amazing. Location is romantic, peaceful. Madelyn is a truly incredible lady. Only downside was the photographer. She had no respect for privacy or consideration for us as the occupants of the house.
It was a girls weekend get away, 6 of us spent a long weekend. The kitchen was perfect size for the meal prep and we made the most of the indoor and outdoor dining space. Watching the deer traipse through the vines (that is a no no, by the way) over coffee was a morning routine. Definitely recommend a stay at this place. Warning...there is very limited cell connectivity, so if you’re tied to your cell, you may be challenged.
We recently visited Hammer Sky for a private sunset wine tasting with Natasha. We really enjoyed the tasting presented by Natasha! The food and wines were delicious. The views from the patio are stunning. We stayed the night in our RV van. It was very peaceful.
We picked HammerSky for our wedding venue and loved it! We knew it was perfect for us when we toured one stormy weekend in January. The staff is warm & welcoming, and the farmhouse is a gem. Then there is Detained, the sparkling wine. Communication with the venue became a challenge as there were 2 main points of contact, but they were not always on the same page as the owner. It also took a few months to get our security deposit back. Everything was resolved in the end. Overall a great experience and I would book again.
