This is the type of motel that was very popular from the post WWII era and are rare today. There were more of them when I was young but even then they were considered nostalgic. One story motel with only 20 rooms owned by a couple who live at a home next door (I met the husband who mentioned this... More

During a family trip throughout California, we decided to stay at the Ranch for a night. What a fun unexpected delight! The appearance is a total throw back to the 70ś, Though the appearance is from a time from the past, the place is very clean and well maintained....the minute we opened the door to our room, the smell of... We stayed a couple of nights to enjoy the concert in the park. The location is great for visiting downtown Paso Robles. It is one of the inexpensive places to stay so don't expect luxury. The rooms were clean and Internet access was stong. The room did gave a small coffee pot but no hair dryer or fridge. The interior is... More

A little old, a little worn, nothing special, not a corporate owned big giant holiday inn, but pleasant. The front desk was old style fill out a card with your info. The keys were actual metal keys as opposed to computerized chip cards. The pillows were thin. The towels were not big and fluffy. There was no bathtub, only a... More

Before we (2 couples, 2 rooms) booked we read the reviews on TripAdvisor. I was concerned because the other couple would have probably booked something more upscale. But I wanted some place that was 'walkable' and would save us money so we could eat well and wine taste. The good things were this hotel had comfortable beds and was quite... More

Great quaint location and at a reasonable price. Very friendly staff. I forgot to show my AAA card and probably could have saved some money though....I could see staying here again when in this great little town.

Although the Melody Ranch sounds like it should be in Nevada out on Hwy. 95, this is a great, family-run motel. The owner offered to get us from the Amtrak station to the motel (although it was only a 4-block walk) if we needed it. He checked us in - said it was the 52nd year of his family's ownership.... Meoldy Ranch is an old style motor lodge with about 20 rooms. While old, it has been maintained very well with some upgrades such as modern flat screen TVs. The front desk is run by the family that owns the hotel, and they are very nice. As I was coming back late, they let me check-in at noon. The good... More

Upon check in, the front desk lady asked if we had a AAA card. She knocked off about $23 more dollars off an already reasonable rate for Paso Robles. We stayed in room number 8. The room is an older room with old school bedspreads. Our room had two beds since that is all that was available. Everything in the... More

It's retro...OK...maybe a little funky, but I love funky, and finding a large, comfy room a block off the Paso Robles square for this price! What more could you ask for...how about spotlessly clean, not just the room but the whole place? How about being treated like a cherished friend? It's got it all! Melody Ranch is in the second...
