This hotel experience surprised us with the gracious and helpful staff; not stiff or pretentious at all. The grounds are gorgeous and the hotel was well kept. They gave us late check out, and we were very pleased with our entire stay.
This hotel rates a 10 out of five stars! I will start with the hotel staff, who are the epitome of what a hotel staff SHOULD be. Every staff member looks you in the eye and greets you as you enter the hotel or if you are in the hallway or walking around the grounds. You were taking the self guided history tour of the hotel as we are architecture buffs. One of the management stopped and answered a question for us then asked us to wait a moment and brought us back a complementary hard cover history Book of the hotel. Now we get to the good part – the beds!! These are the best beds EVER!!! The bed is called the Signature Blissful bed - So they are aptly named! We have traveled relatively widely and have never encountered a hotel bed that was this comfortable! The grounds are a wonderful respite to the outside world. We have not yet eaten in one of the restaurants but they are acclaimed in the LA area. You definitely want to experience this hotel at least once in your life time if not twice!…
I have waited a long time to stay at the Langham. 5 star property, 3 star service, 2 star billing. Grounds: Gorgeous, although the water smelled like old fish near the bridge so I didn't stay long. Rooms: hair all over the wall in the shower, which is gross. Toiletries aren't restocked when they clean up, which when you actually need them, is inconvenient, but fine. I also heard everyone in the hallway clear as day, so not much silence. Pool: All I wanted to to sit by the pool, tan, and have a cocktail. Service was lacking to say the least. First I was told my choice of liquor wasn't available, but it was clearly at the bar. I asked for a basic drink from three different people and they all gave me a different drink each time. I asked for water and ice three times before I gave up. The pool opens at 6a- with no towel service until 11a- dirty shower towels were everywhere from people coming and going throughout the morning with no attendant. Restaurant- the only real one open now is the Terrace. With over 300 available rooms, they had three main servers at any given point. I understand staffing shortages, but if they are going to fully book a hotel, they should make the investment, especially at high times. Coffee- I will never understand having stale coffee in the lobby. The only open restaurant sits away from the lobby, so when you have to wait over half an hour for a table outside, it would be nice to have coffee available there and for someone to actually tend to it. Finally billing: I was charged before I checked out, which is irritating. I didn't get to actually check out, review my bill, and change the card I had on file. I got charged around 1am the night before so I decided it wasn't going to both with breakfast and the wait. I know one thing, the staff, for the most part, is trying hard. It takes better planning and attention from whomever the F&B manager is.…
Staff is genuinely friendly, food is delicious, upkeep of the grounds and hotel is top notch. We enjoyed the spa, pool, restaurants, and roaming the grounds. Highly highly recommend for a relaxing girls weekend! I also will definitely be bringing my family to visit when my kids are a little older.
Langham property is always full of kindness and happiness, I stayed there for 3 nights, and I must give concierge Javier, lalo, and David a vast thanks they are the best, and they made my trip become very special and memorable. also, Alx from the front desk is very professional and patient to explain the property information to me. all those details are definitely recommended to anyone that expects a quality stay.
Management is not running a first class hotel. The room was dated, many items were lacking or second class, no sundry shop for small items. The toilet paper is very thin single ply, cheap and something you expect to find in a motel. The bathroom sink would not drain. Pillows were not acceptable. The room looked tired and dated. Overall, poor value for cost of room.
We live in the Bay Area and drove down to Pasadena for a Memorial Day getaway. The Langham was a very “Pretty in Pink” home away from home for the three day weekend! The front desk and concierge provided maps of the property and suggested walking routes that helped us enjoy exploring the beautiful property and the local neighborhood. The location is convenient for visiting the Huntington Library nearby and DT Los Angeles is a quick drive away but staying here feels like you’re a world away in terms of tranquility. Valet service was prompt whenever we needed the car. The deluxe king accommodations were very comfortable and overall service was excellent. We highly recommend the Langham Huntington Pasadena!
The convenient coffee station by reception desk was out of coffee, creamer and it wasn’t time to close it yet. Was also very messy. I have to add more characters, so am filling in at this point. I liked your outdoor seating around a gas fire pit. Lovely.
There’s only one reason to not give this gorgeous, stunning, awesome hotel a 10. It’s a little pricey. Other than that, it’s almost perfect. First, the valet parking is the best valet parking you’ll ever encounter. They manage it perfectly. Car drop off is prompt with excellent service. Your car is brought around fast and efficiently. It’s parked right outside in a little area devoted to valet parking. These guys have it all figured out. The valet attendance are the most awesome you’ll find anywhere. Second. Customer service is attentive, understanding, and best of all, classy. they offer you water with a smile. We never had to worry about water staying at this hotel. We stayed at a lot of 4 and 5 hotels across the world and they have the best water service period. And it’s included in your stay. So you don’t have to worry about paying $5-$7 for water. Third. The terraces are gorgeous, private and tranquil. The pool is ideal for laps. The whirlpool is awesome. The grounds are amazing with spectacular views of the Pasadena mountains. The hotel is very clean and accommodating. Fourth, and this is more important than you think. The shower is absolutely the best shower in the entire universe! A very strong, powerful, hot shower. Most of the time we can’t wait to get back to our shower but in this instance, we wanted to bring the shower home with us. We would 100% recommend and stay at this hotel again. The cost of a room is a little high but if you stay at the right time, you may be able to get a good deal. …
Historic Pasadena property which is stunning from top to bottom. This place takes old school service to the next level. The only bad part of the stay is that we did not get the room we booked a year early. They did upgrade to a club level room however we were there for 1 night for a reason and that time had to be made up at another property.
