I stayed from 1/5-1/7, we stayed in pasadena to visit a specialty doctor for my fiance. The stay itself was alright but one experience made this stay make me never want to come back. When we checked in, we self parked and the front desk employee told us our parking was going to be $17 for overnight (we weren't going to go anywhere) and she validated it. So on the morning of 1/6 around 530-545 AM, we made our way to a very early appointment so went to the pay station to pay what we were told was $17. The total was $36. No one was at the front desk to help, security was walking through the parking garage and couldnt help but told us to go through the valet exit bc there is a call button and they can badge us through. No one answered the call button. Desperate to get out of the garage without paying double what the hotel told me, I ran up the ramp to find a valet. This valet was the only one at this time and I didn't get his name. He said he'd come down to help us at the exit. So he came down and put our ticket through where it again said $36. He asked for $17 cash to pay for our ticket through their system. I only had $15 cash and he said ok he will put the $2 balance to our room and asked which room we were staying in. He badged us out with his valet badge. Upon checking out, there was no $2 balance. This valet literally took the money for his own tip and assured me that it would be given to the company. AWFUL. I feel so stupid to give a valet a $15 tip just to badge us out instead of truly helping us pay our real ticket to the parking company. Otherwise the rooms could use updating. My hair dryer didn't work and the toilet paper holder was lop sided. Only upsides were that it was quiet and the gym was nice.

Dear Vanessa V, Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. I am deeply sorry to hear that the parking charges and options were not explained to your thoroughly upon arrival, hence, causing disruption in the early hours in the morning. Our parking facilities are owned and managed by a separate entity and not part of the Westin Hotel. Please reach out to me at your convenience so I can direct you to their management team for a rapid resolution. Thank you again for staying with us and happy new year.

Stayed here with group of alumni from Washington and Jefferson College to celebrate 100th anniversary of playing Cal to a 0-0 tie. in the Rose Bowl. Great. Room was small but very comfortable. Great location easy walk to Old Town Pasadena. Slight disappointment in restaurant selection. Would stay here again if traveling to Pasadena.

I’ve been staying at this property for at least the last ten years. Today’s checkin was a huge disappointment. Valet guy had no interest in helping us once we said we weren’t valeting the car even though we were checking in and asked for a luggage cart (ignored). I had to go get one on my own and start unloading. It was raining quite a bit and the valet just stood there watching our stuff get wet. We finally got someone who cared to help us. At checkin, the woman didn’t realize we had breakfast included in our rate (I had to ask about it) and then didn’t tell us anything about it (is it in restaurant? Is there a max?). Perhaps the most disappointing is the new pet policy of $50 per room PER NIGHT. That’s a bit outrageous. We travel with our dog and stay here every year (except last year due to Covid). In the past, there was no fee which is why we opted for this hotel versus other Marriott properties nearby (esp being lifetime Gold). The front desk said this has always been the policy. No, sorry lady, it has not. Didn’t offer additional water or any other pleasantries, no dog bed - very transactional. After 10 years, not sure I will stay here again. Service is definitely not on par with the Westin name or the service level in the past.

Modern, well maintained hotel Found the room to be a bit smaller than pictured. Notwithstanding, the room is modern and very clean. Some quick tips when booking: Confirm your room is not on the south side of the 4th floor as there is a lot of foot traffic on this floor (guests going in and out of the pool area) and you can hear people who may yell outside on the street.

If you read some of these reviews you'd think it resembles more of a Four Points Hotel rather than a Westin. I don't see it. I've been here three times in the past decade with the most recent one last month. It is still a top notch hotel. My only gripe is housekeeping hours, in that I left my iphone charger in the room and when I realized I had done so at 5 PM on the afternoon of check out, that department handling lost & found had already closed for the night. I'm sure it's a lasting effect of Covid and skeleton levels of staffing. Eventually Marriott is going to have to "man up" and start having better staffing levels/hours.
