Was disappointed in the Pasadena Westin. Have stayed many times throughout the past 20 years and the degradation is very sad. We had a room with two double beds that was “upgraded” because of my lifetime Bonvoy Gold membership. The room reminded me of a room in London or NY — soooo small. Shower was horrible and the overall cleanliness and “feel” of the hotel and our room was not up to their previous standards. Will not stay here again when in the area. The Best Western Plus rooms we’ve stayed in in other cities are way better and more comfortable.

Ultra clean rooms and pandemic procedures in place. Made our stay very secure. A lot of eateries within walking distance. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Will check the outdoor temperature controlled swimming pool and gym later. On site eatery is called Ventanas and has indoor and outdoor seatings.

My wife and I (as Gold Elite Members) stayed at the Pasadena Westin for 3 nights (5/2 - 5/5/2021) during which we encountered a couple of "hotel management" problems, as follows: 1. Front Desk Staff problem: On 5/3, we went out for a personal trip and returned to the hotel at around 3 PM and found that our room was NOT MADE UP. I approached the front desk about the problem and they told me the reason: "Housekeeping reported that they have found evidence of guess smoking in the room." I've repeatedly told the front desk clerk that both my wife and I have NEVER smoked in our lives. The clerk insisted to adhere to the "evidence" they found and showed me a picture of the evidence. I then noticed the "Evidence Picture" is indeed in a different room than ours. Someone at the front desk mistyped the room number in their textual communication to the housekeeping staff (room #1143 was mistyped as #1134). OK, I understand that all of us made mistakes. So I informed the front desk clerk that my wife and I would wait in the lobby and requested the clerk to let us know when our room is ready. Unfortunately, the clerk, knowing that we were just sitting nearby in the lobby, said: "We don't know when the room will be made up. Therefore we cannot tell you when to go back to your room". For goodness sake, even a two-star motel staff can do better than that. :-( 2. Hotel Management Problem: On 5/4 at around 1:30 am, the fire alarm was somehow turned on, keeping us up in the middle of the night. The hotel management did broadcast on the PA system saying that the alarm was "false". But then the alarm kept on sounding, on and off, for more than 30 minutes. Then at around 7:30 am we were wakened up again by the same FALSE fire alarm. It is clear to us that Hotel Management DID NOT KNOW how to fix the defective fire alarm system. These are two significant "management issues" that show that there should be better staff training for a five-star hotel in the esteemed Westin Hotel chain. Naturally, my wife and I were quite disappointed about this particular stay, to say the least

Had a present stay at the Westin Pasadena! I was in town for a track race last month and everything was wonderful. Mark checked me in and was so accommodating, professional, and truly provided memorable service. I’m also happy the restaurant was open for breakfast. Thank you.

First, we're tough on properties, so that the hotel was remarkable enough to warrant making a review is noteworthy. We needed a place to stay while letting open house occur at home. Weather has been on the cool side, so beach was not a choice. Add that we have two dogs that would have to make the stay with us Pasadena has good eats, and good walking areas, so we chose to book here. TBH, the property is certainly not a resort property, but more a business support type feel. Access to the entrance is a circular drive, the attendants were helpful in finding a luggage cart, and they offer valet and self park for the same price. It's the front desk that makes this property valuable. We were given an opportunity to upgrade to a junior suite, and they were delightful in doing so. The junior suite room is spacious, with a 2 TVs, sectional sofa, built in desk, and free internet. Was some concern the dogs were going to be freaked by staying in a hotel room, and there was quite a bit of growling and burst barks, but eventually they settled in for the night. There was a wedding party at the hotel, but it wasn't an issue. Briefly there was some rambunctious activity but all was quiet by 10pm Hotel is close walking to old downtown, and cutting through city hall makes quick work of it, too. Should mention that there's a nice park just down a couple of blocks, and the dogs were super happy about it. Back to the front desk. They were kind enough to get us early check AND late check out. We were elated with the results, so we booked another Saturday night. Mark, the front desk person, was exceptional in addressing our needs when we hit a bump on arrival today. Can't say enough about how well he handle us, and was able to take care of the issue. We just returned from a luxury property in the desert and that front desk wasn't as friendly or as quick of foot as Mark is here at the Westin. Again, we're a bit painful as hotel guests, so take this in consideration when looking around for accommodations in Pasadena.
