i recently had a short stay at the Comfort Inn in Pasadena on Colorado . i left my room to go to Walgreens to stock up on my toiletries . let me just tell you first " im African American". Now as im coming back from Walgreens , i go to there little breakfast room where they prepare the breakfast fo the guest . As i entered the room , a rather dark Lady with glasses looks at me with a very nasty stare as she walks towards me , shaking her head and saying NO NO NO ! You dont stay hera ? I just looked at her with a smile and said " Who you might be ? " She tilts her head up high and say , ' im Marry the head Mistress around here ! " now im just shocked . did i hear her right . i just smiled . and said " Come Again ? " She said it with TUTED//// ' IM THE HEAD MISTRESS AROUND HEREA "........and you need to leave please . i just smiled and produced my me key.......The Color Purple..... Now clearly this Lady 'FOB" did not know what her job title was ......So i go and find the GM at the front desk in the lobby.... i say ' hello ! " hello ! The lady sitting with him at the frontdesk says "He only can hear out of one ear ." just when she finished her sentence . A White Gent. approached the desk and said ' hello " one time and the GM said " hello ? " i was shocked again . i looked around . no people of black color worked there and none never did . Now its said such a respectable hotel do not want African Americans there . But they got an illegal head maid thinking she's running a HOE house as head HOE and a deaf GM hearing aid doesnt work for African Americans.…
A find in Pasadena! Large room, very comfortable bed & pillows (smaller ones in front of larger ones, great idea), perfect comforter (asked for), microwave, fridge..surprised to find even a freezer! Many choices for breakfast in cozy room. (This is part of Choice Hotel franchise.) Terrific front desk staff, a.m. and p.m. Other staff very good too. Room on 3rd floor, quiet. Great rate, called direct.
Great hot breakfast, blazing WiFi, clean quiet room, convenient location. Tight parking and a weak shower are the only things keeping this place from a 5 star rating. We stay here about once every three years.
Check in was fine - aloof, no smile kind of person. Room had a strong musty smell, noticeable when you come in from outside but after a while you get used to it. Maybe they never changed the a/c filters. Bed was comfortable. Large size room. The bathroom sink is really small, resulting in water splashing onto the floor. The shower has low water pressure. Breakfast was good with plenty usual choices. At checkout, she was mentally not there, not even a hello. It seems the employees are not happy working here. Otherwise an average Comfort Inn as I have stayed in many that are much better.
I've stayed in a lot of Comfort Inn's over my years of traveling. This one was ok. I didn't have any issues checking in, staff was friendly and gave us a room on the third floor (I don't like people walking around above me) close to the elevator. The room was clean, with plenty of amenities. It had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The beds weren't the most comfortable but I managed. I liked the free parking. The breakfast was your typical hot breakfast at a hotel. Eggs, Sausage and waffles along with an array of pastries, and yogurts. It was good enough for us to start our day out. This hotel was reasonably priced and I would stay here again, if needed.
