The Pasadena Hotel & Pool, nestled in a prime location, is celebrated by many travelers for its proximity to attractions and businesses, making it a hit for various types of visits. While the hotel's cleanliness and charming ambiance receive high marks, guests have noted a lack of in-room amenities such as coffee makers and water bottles. Although the service can be hit or miss, with some staff interactions being praised and others criticized for delays, the overall atmosphere is appreciated for its unique blend of coziness and luxury. The hotel, however, has drawn some criticism over the perceived value, with mentions of high costs for parking and additional services.

I would highly recommend Hotel Constance if you are coming to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade. Our package included parade seats right on Colorado Avenue (the parade route), grab n' go breakfast before the parade, coffee/tea/hot chocolate all morning, warm breakfast brunch after the parade, and a shuttle to the stadium. The hotel is located at the approximate half-point of the five mile parade route. We went outside around 6:45 AM and were able to get two front row seats. The hotel has four rows of seats right on the sidewalk. Many people had gone out earlier and "reserved" their seats by leaving a jacket or other item on the chair. These seats are a much better alternative to "reserved" seats on the parade route which are in bleachers along the route.

Hotel Constance is conveniently located to many shops and restaurants, and Old Pasadena. We used Uber to/from LAX and walked everywhere else.

There is a small bar at the hotel, plus a restaurant. Staff are friendly, our room are clean and the beds are comfy.

Everything as advertised.

Clean and tidy, no doubt.

Staff is very kind and helpful. We experienced unusually warm air in the corridor one day and they immediately put mobile ventilators in order to sort out the issue. Appreciated that.

I would recommend to future guests with car that the $20 that hotel charges for parking per day is a little ambitious. You can easily find alternatives across the street for $12.

Finally, as you can see on the pictures before booking, the toilettes are directly sharing the airspace with the room. As in, there is no separate bathroom with actual walls. The ventilation works perfectly. It can be odd leaving the room while the other person is using the toilette though..

Staying for a few evenings in Pasadena, Hotel Constance was a great option for its consistency and quality.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with great luxuries, awesome linens and eco-friendly toiletries.

To begin with the hotel felt a little corporate, as the downstairs area is very minimal and not immediately comfy feeling. However, the great staff and restaurant and bar choices soon warm you up.

The best feature is the pool area. Great cabanas, seating spaces and a real little sun trap, the pool was just the right size for a good swim and relax.

Location is great, good walking distance from everything you’ll need, cafes, shops, bars, bakeries and restaurants.

As a comfortable base for a few days this hotel is highly recommended. You’ll leave relaxed and happy.

Such a warm welcome from the nice man on the door, check in was smooth and great detailed instructions. Car parking available too. Our room was great, overlooking a garden area. Very modern, the bathroom was lovely and the shower was as a shower should be with enough water coming out to make a difference. Can’t stand feeble showers! We had continental breakfast there both mornings, just a buffet for $16 but plenty to choose from. Music in the evening on some nights, cocktail bar also a pool but we did not visit that. Overall a great experience, thank you.

It was bad enough that our room was very small with a frosted glass bathroom, no dresser, and a badly designed closet that was difficult to open because it was blocked by the bed . But it was the hotel management that made my three day stay miserable. When we checked in we were told that room cleaning has been "suspended" unless you make a special request. That's right, no room cleaning or bed making at this hotel. The next morning we made the "special request" to have our bed made. We then were told for the first time that such a request had to be made a day in advance. We asked for special consideration, but our bed was not made and the room not cleaned that day, presumably because we hadn't provided the requisite one day notice. The next day we again asked to have our bed made, hoping to get the benefit of our previous request. That day the room was cleaned, but the bed remained unmade. The bed remained unmade for our entire three day stay despite repeated requests for this basic hotel service. Management seems to have concluded that it doesn't matter that no guest would ever return for a second stay, because apparently they have figured out that there is an endless supply of first time guests who won't know that they are in for unattractive rooms and mind boggling terrible service.

Don’t be fooled by the overall reviews for this hotel. Everything changed in the pandemic so only look at the 2022 and later reviews. I don’t love the new look, but okay that’s subjective. Here’s what you need to know: no daily cleaning or tidying of the room unless you request it 24 hours in advance. Sorry, this is why I book a hotel — make the bed, scrub the toilet. The fact this was sprung on us at checkin for a prepaid reservation was super annoying. We would absolutely have gone elsewhere. But wait, there’s more: only tepidly warm (not hot) water in the shower, no coffee maker in the room, No complimentary coffee in the lobby, no water
bottles, no mini bar, no valet, but you can self park for 29USD/day. The rate isn’t crazy, they take it out of your daily, yes daily, security deposit of $50. I’ve never had a hotel charge me a security deposit—maybe it’s to guard against unpleasant reviews? Bed was good, room was a little
cramped but ok. I hate the trend (not limited to this property) of having a frosted glass wall in the bathroom. Every time someone uses the bathroom in the middle of the night, everyone gets to be woken up because of the light. The only good thing I can say is that the bar scene looked fun. I’d stay somewhere else and come here for a drink.

We booked a premier suite for our wedding night. It was disappointing to say the least. After a busy day, we wanted some comfort like a heated pool and hot water. Not here. Tepid water, no pool amenities like towels, no wifi, our phone didn’t even work so we could call room service, not even a water fountain was available, or even water bottles in the mini fridge. Even though we made note of our special occasion, there wasn’t even a piece of chocolate on the pillow. On top of over $200/night for a room with no hot water, there’s also a $30 charge for parking. Would not recommend. Very disappointing.

I grew up in Pasadena. I am very familiar with the style and feel of "Old Town" Pasadena and this area of Colorado Blvd. I have to say, this hotel has completely lost its way (and its mind if it has one!)! Something went terribly wrong when it last changed ownership. The furniture and other decor in the rooms is this weird, wacky modern plastic stuff and looks simply ridiculous! The carpets in the hallways and rooms have nauseating colors (such as puke green and reddish pink) and to make them even more difficult to look at, they all have these swirling dizzying patterns. They are so awful that I didn't want to "look down" at any given time while in my room or walking the hallways. There are no staff to help with bags, no valet parking, no in-room coffee, and the food I ordered at the bar was served with plastic utensils, packet mayo, and fruit-cup style packaged salad dressing. Totally unreal! The lobby area is actually quite nice but completely different in style and feel from the rest of the hotel which is just so bizarre. The pool is really quite nice and essentially in my opinion the only thing this hotel has going for it.

Classic downtown hotel on Pasadena's main street, within walking distance of all of shops and restaurants.

My room was quiet and comfortable, with a comfortable bed. Onsite self parking was very convenient and the pool was a great place to chill. Didn't get a chance to try the onsite restaurant.

Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is well situated on East Colorado Blvd. near restaurants, shops and other Pasadena attractions. I also like that this 1926 building has preserved some of its original charm, particularly in the lobby area.

An extensive remodel of the hotel took place within the last several years — “modernizing” the guest rooms. We booked a 7th floor king sized bedroom with a pool view, at some considerable cost. (About $900.00 all in for two nights) The room was very tiny in size. The open area bathroom (no separate room from the rest of the bedroom) had an “artistically” partially frosted glass door to the toilet and shower. The toilet was about 6 feet from the head of the bed, and every intestinal distress could be clearly heard.

I believe the water was softened which is nice when you’re taking a shower, but is probably not healthy to drink, which I did, because there were no bottles of water in the room at all — even for purchase. There were two single use plastic cups provided — not glass, which reeked of cheapness to me.

Parking was an additional per day charge. The front desk man was curt and not welcoming at all. The baristas at the downstairs breakfast bar were all very pleasant however.

All in all, I felt that this hotel is not worth the top dollar it charges. I would not book here again.
