Stay in your choice of mountaintop accommodations offering a range of experiences from luxury to historically rustic cabin chic. One and two bedroom cabins, luxury yurts, modern cabins, and tent camping. For large groups who’d like to stay together, the old Palomar Mountain Hotel restoration with 8 bedrooms sleeps 19.
Our Yurt (Calliope) was exactly the way it looked in the photos. Everything we needed was there. There is a percolator for coffee and no outlets to plug anything in except by USB. We went during a heat wave and our Yurt was in the sun during the hottest time of the day. They gave us a swamp cooler which helped a little. We want to go back in the early spring so we can use the stove. Everything was clean, modern, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Fishing in the ponds was good, catch and release, and you don't need a license. We're definitely going back!!

Thank you for sharing your experience in Calliope Yurt! We’re glad it met your expectations and had everything you needed, from the percolator to the cozy bed. It sounds like the swamp cooler was helpful, and we agree—spring is a fantastic time to enjoy the stove and cooler weather. We’re delighted you had a great time fishing at the ponds, too. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!

This place just blew me away! I can't say enough great things about it. We stayed in a yurt and it was amazing. It was so comfy, modern, and just all around perfect. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the place. I had no idea how great it was until I stepped inside. Super comfy but sleek/modern furnishings, a gas heater that worked on the thermostat so no fussing with it, everything we needed to cook and be comfy. We had hybrid power but there is a full stove and oven so we could still make coffee, popcorn, heat up leftovers, etc. And there are USB outlets for your cell phone. The property was great and we had a lot of freedom. My toddler loved the playground and all the places there to climb, he made a free craft, we fed the goats and pet the huge dogs. We took him sledding on the property...it was just wonderful. Being only 1.5 hours from San Diego it's perfect for a weekend away with family, especially littles. We have found a place we'll for sure return to again and again.

With snow coming down for the weekend, our family was looking for a nice place to spend the weekend and we couldn't have asked for a better place then Bailey's on Palomar. This property is perfect because its tucked away from the main road in a private property so you wont have to deal with people coming up to play in the snow. We were so lucky to have booked the Butternut cottage as it was the last cabin/cottage available and in my opinion, the best one. It has two rooms and it was recently renovated. The cottage also has wifi and all the amenities you would need to have a comfy stay ( towels, sheets, shampoo, utensils, etc) I loved the fact that we didn't have to check in at the office as the cottages come with a door lock that opens up with a code that is provided to you. The cottage had a beautiful fire place, and although the cottage has a very vintage look and feel, everything was up to date and clean. Our back yard is the beautiful view of the mountains and we were lucky enough to see a couple of deer early in the morning. Everything in the cabin worked. We had hot water, electricity and good wifi connection. If we needed anything, the staff was awesome and just a text away. On our first morning I couldn't get the wall heater going and Lane came to turn it on right away. Then if we needed anything else, Victoria would bring it over. On our second day everyone around us checked out and we basically had the property all to ourselves. We got out and played in the snow right next to the pond. Then it started to snow and the beauty of the snow coming down with the backdrop of Palomar Mountain made you feel like you were in a movie. At check out we had the pleasure of meeting Hilda, the HSKP manager, and she was so nice. Giving us some history on the property and offering us a free tour of it and also showing us some of the other cabins/cottages for our future stay. We had such a great time we really didn't want to leave. I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking to have a good time but also that peace and relaxation that only Palomar Mountain can provide.

This place is extremely lovely, and the camp birdsong we stayed in was well decorated and furnished. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about their service. We found a blanket in a basket which we assumed we can use to warm ourselves outside. As I wrapped myself in the blanket I smelled a very strong stench - it was actually soiled (I think with dried sperm)? I immediately threw it to the ground. The rep next day profusely apologized but offered nothing else. We also had three people in our party, but they never bothered to accommodate us with appropriate number of towels and blankets in the first place. There is no cell reception so no way to call the front office for extra towels and blankets - there's wifi so I emailed the front desk, but unsurprisingly to no avail. The only way you can get help is by flagging one of them down as they drive by your cabin. Also, construction noise coming from nearby yurt getting built. Never coming here again.

Really fun family and friend camping trip experience. We came with 10 families and were able to all stay between the tents, yurts and a few cabins. We stayed in the Walnut cabin given we have a 1 year old, and it comfortably fit our family of 5, and even had space for 1-2 additional people if we wanted to expand our group.
So nice to get away from the day to day fast pace and stress of normal life to spend time with close friends in the wilderness.

Bailey's Fern Cabin was perfect for a couple. Tightly constructed and well heated by a gas-powered stove (with a ceiling fan for warmer weather). Comfortable bed, quality linens. Everything we needed anticipated in terms of kitchen & bathroom supplies, blankets, lighting, seating, etc. Excellent shower with stone floor & wall. Modern fixtures but with a rustic feel. Outside fire pit (with mosquito netting for summer season), grill, and picnic table. Easy walking in woods and near state park. Fishing poles & bikes available for rent. Friendly, helpful staff. What more is there to say? We enjoyed a perfect mountain getaway!

A romantic retreat with the hubby and 2 dogs. No cell/wifi service was a nice digital detox as we glamped at this beautiful site. The grounds are charming with lots to do: hiking, fishing, relaxing, etc.. Hilda and Alex were wonderful hosts who went out of their way to assist us with making the stay wonderful. This place is a true hidden mountain gem in socal!

We went with friends on a spontaneous fall getaway to Bailey's on Palomar Mountain. The pictures looked inviting, but we didn't know what to expect. The actual experience exceeded our expectations! We stayed in Applewood Cabin, a lovely, cozy, well-stocked cabin. Everything was thought of, all of the kitchen supplies were thoughtfully provided, the spaces to put things, the comfortable bed, the amazing outdoor deck in the forest, all contributed to a perfect fall escape! We bbq'd, made smores at the firepit, hiked around the property, visited the petting zoo, sat by the pond, played horseshoes, and made the most of our time. Whether you are going for couple, family and friend time, it is the perfect gathering spot! Thank you to all who help to offer the space to us to enjoy!!!!!

We rented one teepee and two cabins. They were all great. The playground, the store, the personnel, the linens were great. When we had no running water in Cedars Cabin an employee came within 10 minutes to fix the problem. Cedars Cabin had so much dog hair along the edge of all the floor area that I took a photo of balls of hair I had thrown in the trash and showed it to the lady in the store.I recommended they sweep and vacuum thoroughly after every rental. That dog hair was an accumulation of many dogs. The lady at the store said several times that Cedars cabin was very old and it accumulated dust. I repeated that the age of the cabin had nothing to do with not sweeping and vacuuming the edges of the floor. We did wash the dishes and took out the trash. Don’t expect me to clean thoroughly when you charged me $75 for cleaning fee. We hope to go back in the future. Thanks.

We enjoyed our stay at Bailey's on Palomar. We reserved 4 freedom tents and they were perfect! Each tent had a queen bed and 2 twin beds with bedding. A big plus is that each tent has its own bathroom/shower. They even had a propane grill and stove. It was an awesome experience going to the lake to fish, petting the goats and the kids loved the playground and craft room. We will definitely be coming back and make it a family tradition!
