Dinah's Garden Hotel emerges as a haven of cleanliness and tranquility, where guests have called out the well-maintained rooms and lush gardens. For many travelers, the hotel represents excellent value, offering affordable luxury with comfortable accommodations and complimentary amenities. The staff's friendly and attentive service ensures a delightful stay, enhancing the hotel's serene atmosphere.
While the rooms are spacious and clean, a few guests suggest the decor could use an update. However, its prime location with easy access to both city and coast makes it a popular choice among visitors.

Detailed Reviews
Dinah’s is an oasis in the middle of the frantic pace of the Silicon Valley. I feel it the moment I step out of the car, and as I walk to my room through lush tropical gardens with fountains and Koi ponds, the stress evaporates with every step. Ask for one of the rooms with heated bathroom floors, or a suite with a steam bath in the shower. Little touches like lighted makeup mirrors, good quality hair dryers, ice machines that dispense ice water too; it all adds up. And if you’re traveling with your pooch, you’ll love the adorable dog park. I was shocked at how large it was.
If the grounds, the rooms and the enormous pool with poolside dining (excellent and reasonable $$) doesn’t get you, then the staff definitely will. I don’t think I’ve ever been treated with such kindness and caring as I have at Dinah‘s. I especially want to call out manager, Ms. Alma Sanchez, as being a superior Hospitality professional. The staff at Dinah‘s will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable and cozy as possible.

Excellent location and service. We have traveled to San Francisco several times and Dinah's is a great value for the location and ease of seeing the city. The room was spotless and comfortable. Easy to catch transportation or walk to some great eating spots.

The staff member at check-in was very helpful. We needed to find a room without stairs which was different from what I had reserved. He described the possible rooms and set us up without delay in a ground-floor room with attractive view of the pond and gardens.
The room was perfectly clean and very spacious. Bottled water was no charge (it was $6 per bottle during a recent stay at another hotel).
The restaurant was crowded and noisy because of a local company's event taking place, but our waiter was attentive and served us quickly.
I would stay here again.

While the hotel is wonderful with green spaces and a nice dog walk garden, we unfortunately checked out after one night because our dog-friendly room was tiled in vinyl flooring that was quite noisy anytime our dog walked on it. He was terrified and didn't move around much. We had a terrible night's sleep and couldn't bear another night. Despite this, if you're travelling without a pet, it would be a wonderful place to stay. The grounds and pool are so tranquil, they even provide you food to feed the ducks and koi fish. Parking was very easy.

All the employees of this hotel are nice and respectful. The room does not have a strong chemical smell compared to other hotels that over sanitized their place. I can breathe well without headache. Some guest like me have chemical allergy and sensitivity. Good thing that this place doesn’t use harsh chemicals for cleaning. I will be back again

Because of traffic I arrived much later than expected I was very rushed and the front desk was very kind upon check-in. The hotel was beautiful I didn't get to enjoy the pool because of being so late because of the traffic and then I went to my event came back and enjoyed a decent rest. However, I think it's ridiculous that the hotel decided to charge me an extra $50 because of 20 minutes, I asked for a late check out upon making my reservation and again calling the desk to let them know I needed a late check out, as I was hoping to be able to enjoy the hotel a bit longer after arriving so rushed. The front desk person explained if I checked out by 1230 that would be fine anything after that I would be charged $50 extra even if I needed to check out at 12:45… I understand how staffing works at hotels, I also understand rules are rules, the problem I have in the situation was the fact that I had to take my dog outside so he could go to the bathroom and because of that even though I was not in the room anymore I had all of my items in my car by 1230, after walking my dog and getting to the front desk at about 1255 to let them know I was checking out officially and leaving the property I was then informed I would be charged the $50 because of not getting in touch with the front desk by 1230. I find this absolutely horrible and because of this I would never recommend this hotel to anyone it's beautiful, but the ownership is obviously extremely greedy taxing people on an already very expensive room for what you get and not being able to work with them and their guests regarding a later check out and charging me the $50. There are plenty of other hotels in the area to choose from I would not ever go back here because of my horrible treatment that I received.

I had warm memories of Dinah's Shack from many, many years ago and was anxious to see the next generation of the place. We stayed in the Bali Suite (#401) which was very comfortable -huge king size bed, coffee station, small fridge, desk and sitting area. We had a great view of the lagoon outside our window and the beautiful flowering gardens beyond. Shower was incredible with many options including steam and even had warming towel rods. We'd highly recommend this place and enjoyed a cozy breakfast that still serves the fresh squeezed oj each morning and has the original fried chicken on the lunch and dinner menu as did the original Dinah's.

This was our second stay at Dinah's Hotel, both times for a period of three weeks. We, again, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Patio Room was spacious and bright and included everything we needed. In contrast to most other hotel rooms, the lights in the room provided strong lighting at night. The atmosphere at the hotel is very peaceful and pleasant. It's really a joy to walk in the gardens and watch the ducks and the fish in the pools. The food at the pool restaurant was delicious. The hotel's staff was very kind and attentive. Alma at the reception was exceptionally helpful.
The hotel is not new and modern, but it has "a character" of its own. We strongly prefer Dinah's on the chain hotels in the area, and we hope to visit there again in the future.

I love this little hotel. I come regularly to the area and always stay here. I request my favorite room which over looks the ponds. These ponds serve as home to large coy and innumerable happy ducks. If you stay in a lagoon room you can hear the fountains and look over this paradise. For a special treat, observe at duck feeding time!
The staff at the front desk, restaurant, groundskeepers, and everyone you come in contact with are friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. I often invite friends to meet me for lunch around the pool. The food is consistent. I particularly enjoy the breakfast options which you can have throughout the day.
The Dinah is a comfortable, clean and consistent. It is not the most modern but it is well kept and always clean. They offer lots of plug options! My room generally has a small couch and table, sink and refrigerator. A small coffee machine is offered also. I have brought take out into the room, from the famous Chef Chu's which is just around the corner. It is easy to get silverware and a clean plate from the restaurant. The location has always been very convenient for me.
I hesitate to even tell you how much I enjoy staying at the Dinah because I hope there will always be a room for me when I call.

About 3-4 miles away. No shuttle bus but you're on the same busy street as Stanford (El Camino Real) and city buses are going by day and night. Doubt you'd be waiting more than 10 minutes to catch one.
Check in at 3pm and check out at 12n. It’s on their website.
Hello Mandi,
You can check out web site under Accommodations for more specifics but the Fountain Suite has one bedroom with a King bed and a pull out couch, there is another pull out couch in the living room, 1 bathroom, kitchenette.
The Asian Sunset Suite has a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths with a full living room/dining room as well.
