We go to Palo Alto regularly for visits to Stanford and typically stay in one of the chain hotels. Thought we’d change it up and stay somewhere different. Dinah’s filled the bill! So cute! It’s an older hotel, but that just adds to the charm! We stayed in a deluxe garden room. The room was huge and had the most quaint little patio. It was so calming to hear the water outside and to see the koi and ducks. The room was clean and had all of the standard amenities. And, bonus, we were able to bring our dog! They even have a cute little dog park on the premises! We will definitely stay there again!
We stayed at Dinah’s this year for Christmas Eve and it couldn’t have been more perfect. They have special dog rooms that are quite roomy and with a little loveseat with a dog cover on it just for our dog. She also really appreciated the beautiful dog park that is full of beautiful roses and other shrubbery and very well laid out. Our king size bed was pretty comfortable and the pillows were decent. Breakfast is always was delicious and the day after Christmas it was a welcome treat before we left. The grounds still look like they did when I was a kid and that is such a familiar feeling and very calming. The sound of water throughout the area with all the Koi ponds adds to that relaxation. One of the few things that still looks like my childhood Palo Alto. I will be returning again and again.…
I stayed 3 nights here while my husband was having a procedure at Stanford Hospital. I hope they understand how appreciative I am for their Stanford patient discount. When you're from out of town and your loved one is going through health issues, having to find an affordable/safe place to stay can be overwhelming. Pros - Great wifi - Spacious, clean room. - Close to Stanford hospital (15-18 minutes depending on time of day). - I could not hear neighbors through the walls like at other hotels. - No additional charge for parking, like other nearby hotels. Cons - Parking near your room can be tricky, even with a handicap tag. - The mini-fridge didn't get very cold, it was concerning for food items. - Horrible, flat pillows
I can't really complain anything about Dinah's Garden Hotel - it's spacious, quiet, safe, convenient, clean, and beautiful, at the heart of Palo Alto, with easy access to Facebook HQ and Stanford University, and tons of awesome restaurants around. There may be only one thing - it's kind of too old and parking is sort of limited (you might not be able to find a parking spot right beside your building if you come back late).
This is not my first stay as Dinah’s Garden Hotel and they maintain the highest level of service, cleanliness and surprise-free visit. My room was ready before time and I was able to check in with no extra charge, which is something I appreciate more and more as everybody else seem to look for more ways to extract money from customers. Meanwhile, Dinah’s keep offering a complementary laundry room, bottled water and don’t charge for parking.
I've stayed at Dinah's twice in the last few months and each time have been impressed with the rooms and the ambience, and most of all the friendly and professional staff. The rooms are clean and--for the price--well appointed. I like the the whole thing: the ponds and fountains and ducks (and ducklings in the spring), even the section of El Camino on which it's located--one of the slightly less busy commercial strips in Palo Alto.
My husband had surgery at Stanford so I booked Dinah’s to be close. Everyone was so accommodating and welcoming especially since things were in such a state of flux. Thank you to all the staff who put up with my ever changing reservations! You were all so nice and helpful!
This was our third visit to Dinah’s Garden. We love the ambiance, the pool and the restaurant. The rooms are large, and comfortable, the staff is helpful. The lush gardens make you feel like you’re in a tropical paradise. The food in the poolside restaurant is delicious and Cullum, our waiter, was especially accommodating and helpful.
I have been to Dinah’s 3 times this year already. I only live 40 minutes away and I LOVE doing a Staycation there. The STAFF is so kind ams even though they are a bit short staffed at the dining area they hustle and do a fantastic job! Employees need to be recognized by management in my opinion of being a manager of our 27 years and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Ricardo who is a “Young Man Of All Trades” He not only seated us, served our dinner, was the bartender, cleared the tables, greeted the guests but most importantly did it all with a Welcoming Smile at ALL times! My stay was supposed to be for only 2 nights but I ended extending for an additional 2 more nights. Alma at the front desk always greets the guests with a radiant smile and remembers us by name and that is so Welcoming. I will be back again in a few weeks for more rest, relaxation and ☀️ sun. Nice to park right outside of our room; clean room with a patio; free water; friendly staff; coffee in room with REAL mugs! lush gardens with water feature nearby. Price was perfect for our quick overnight for a DR appointment at Stanford early in morning. Didn't have to check out till we returned.
