Excellent hotel! A breath of fresh air compared to the chain hotels. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained and the rooms are spacious, comfortably decorated and very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at Dinah’s this year for Christmas Eve and it couldn’t have been more perfect. They have special dog rooms that are quite roomy and with a little loveseat with a dog cover on it just for our dog. She also really appreciated the beautiful dog park that is full of beautiful roses and other shrubbery and very well laid out. Our king size bed was pretty comfortable and the pillows were decent. Breakfast is always was delicious and the day after Christmas it was a welcome treat before we left. The grounds still look like they did when I was a kid and that is such a familiar feeling and very calming. The sound of water throughout the area with all the Koi ponds adds to that relaxation. One of the few things that still looks like my childhood Palo Alto. I will be returning again and again.

We are local residents, and I am a little reluctant to write this review, because Dinah's is something of a Palo Alto secret. When large numbers of our family come to town for a holiday, we give up our house to them and move to Dinah's, where the rooms, staff, grounds, and poolside restaurant are simply superb. We cheat just a little, and get wristbands for our grandchildren to swim in the pool while we enjoy breakfast, lunch or a cocktail poolside. Dinah's is a great place to stay if you are anywhere near Palo Alto and Stanford.

Very nice hotel. Has a decent menu and friendly folks. We stayed in 600b on the 3rd floor and it was very nice. Quiet was great! Everything was clean, no weird smells and very comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast which was all very good. Pool looked nice but I couldn’t swim due to surgery. Highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful grounds !

The rooms smells very strongly like old house or old furniture and the AC is bad. It makes a looot of noise and the temperature in the room drops a lot before the AC starts. Everything else was okish.

We just checked out and I wanted to write this stellar review immediately to express how wonderful this place is. The history is awesome. The food was great and the hotel is spotless. The price is a most excellent t value. The gardens are gorgeous. Each and every employee we came upon was kind and friendly. Something must be going right at this place. It’s a gem in a sea of hotels and restaurants that have staffing and service related issues. I’m an age where we now expect hotels to be dirty and service to be less than- this place is a most positive outlier. Highly HIGHLY recommend.

Was in Palo Alto to visit family and spent 2 nights at Dinah’s. We had a beautiful room, comfy bed with a great view of the exotic courtyard. Swam in pool, and had a nice supper by the pool. Can’t say anything negative about this place, and will definitely go back.

This was my 2nd stay here. I love the koi pond and the ducks and the decor. This hotel is so unique. It's quiet. I didn't enjoy the pool this time (not enough time due to work). I can't wait to have a reason to stay here for leisure instead of business.

Lovely, tranquil setting and a well-equipped, spacious, clean and nice room. We loved the beautiful flowers and the water features that meandered throughout the complex. Great service all around. Special shout out to Alma for her friendly, helpful attitude and service. Will definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Because of traffic I arrived much later than expected I was very rushed and the front desk was very kind upon check-in. The hotel was beautiful I didn't get to enjoy the pool because of being so late because of the traffic and then I went to my event came back and enjoyed a decent rest. However, I think it's ridiculous that the hotel decided to charge me an extra $50 because of 20 minutes, I asked for a late check out upon making my reservation and again calling the desk to let them know I needed a late check out, as I was hoping to be able to enjoy the hotel a bit longer after arriving so rushed. The front desk person explained if I checked out by 1230 that would be fine anything after that I would be charged $50 extra even if I needed to check out at 12:45… I understand how staffing works at hotels, I also understand rules are rules, the problem I have in the situation was the fact that I had to take my dog outside so he could go to the bathroom and because of that even though I was not in the room anymore I had all of my items in my car by 1230, after walking my dog and getting to the front desk at about 1255 to let them know I was checking out officially and leaving the property I was then informed I would be charged the $50 because of not getting in touch with the front desk by 1230. I find this absolutely horrible and because of this I would never recommend this hotel to anyone it's beautiful, but the ownership is obviously extremely greedy taxing people on an already very expensive room for what you get and not being able to work with them and their guests regarding a later check out and charging me the $50. There are plenty of other hotels in the area to choose from I would not ever go back here because of my horrible treatment that I received.
