Lovely, intimate hotel with stunning landscaping and exquisite attention to detail. Management and staff was kind, professional, and attentive. We had absolutely no issues during our stay beyond occasional noise from other guests. Our room was on the smaller side, but it had ample storage, comfortable furnishings, and a large, luxurious bathroom with plenty of huge, fluffy towels and sandalwood-scented toiletries. The minibar was thoughtfully appointed with all kinds of goodies, and the room was stylishly decorated with a glam brass and glass aesthetic, as well as wood and marble surfaces that we much prefer to dubious carpets. Loved the fun wallpaper too! Where this hotel really stands out though is on the grounds. We greatly enjoyed the green-tiled pool and hot tub surrounded by birds of paradise, banana trees, citrus, and palms, and a host of green and white deck chairs and umbrellas. We would definitely stay again!…
We just finished a stay here to celebrate our anniversary. Wow! Did this place impress us. Every single staff member we interacted with was so kind. Brandy is the star though! She made us feel so welcome and went over the top to celebrate our anniversary! I had to hug her when we left! The food was great for breakfast. They had complementary yoga (with the sweetest teacher) as well. The grounds were well kept and inviting. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Such a good vibe here and beautiful resort. Close to downtown too!
Hotel was supposed to be completely remodeled/refreshed? But it wasn’t, maybe new floors in the rooms and new wallpaper but other than that everything is as it was. Also, while making reservation was told only 3 rooms left, but after getting their place was almost completely empty? Extra charges of valet and grounds ($65?) are not worth it. Very expensive for what you get. In the restaurant there are many workers but service is slow and nobody seems to know what they are doing?
This is a beautiful and classic boutique hotel. Understated luxury at its best. The front desk and valet staff was amazing - quick to respond to any issues and made us feel welcome. Only feedback is that the restaurant team seemed to be struggling to get orders out whether they were busy or not. It could be a staffing issue but it was noticeable.
Visited for Birthday celebrations. Due to Covid we had to change all our plans until February. We compliment most sincerely Brandi at booking dept. She was most helpful and a great Ambassador for the Hotel. Accommodation was very good except only one chair in bedroom which was due, I believe, to Fire regulations! Good food and drinks but the following needs attention: Taking ages to have our meal delivered to our table. Whilst everything is cooked as ordered - but to take up to 50 / 60 mins in a not too busy restaurant is not on. Also, the gentleman checking us into the restaurant was most unhelpful and without any welcome. Attitude and personality seriously missing.
The rooms are tired. We asked to see an alternative room which wasn't much better - and then they charged us an extra $150 per night and kind of talked down to us when we questioned this at check out. I felt I had been played. The hotel makes you sign a document saying you can't leave - which is obviously done on purpose because you would leave if you really how tired this property is once you check in and you are overpaying. The hot water takes a good 10-15 minutes to kick in and is so incredibly wasteful. Food is substandard, no pool service- well if you go get everything yourself - the only good about this property is the playlist by the pool and the lush gardens. It is not a four star - and I would not stay here again. There are so many better options in the desert. I wish I had read these reviews before booking.…
Setting is lovely. Food is average at best (if you manage to get served what you actually ordered) Drinks come midway through your meal. Tried to pay and wanted to throw myself into the pool it took so long. Servers very apologetic which says to me it’s understaffed, and the staff also lack training. An elegant setting let down by the absolute basics at every stage. Management if you are reading this, please do some soul-searching.
For the first time ever I checked out of a hotel within an hour of checking in. It was so bad that I booked another hotel even before I got confirmation of my refund. I was willing to lose money and write this off as a loss because there was no way I was going to stay there. I - You'll be flat out ignore for any poolside service for over 40 minutes, even if the pool area is completely empty with less than 5 guests. You'll watch the server tend to those guests, watch them enjoy multiple rounds, all while getting zero acknowledgement or greeting. - Your requests for help with things like putting Umbrellas down will be flat out ignored by staff who turn their back to you and go back to chatting with eachother. - If you raise these issues, you'll have an assistant GM approach this with smarm like you're a toddler. Solutions please, not sympathy. ...and the valet will feel emboldened for some unknown reason to tell you he thought you were a Postmate driver! Yes, all of this happened within 50 minutes of my arrival. I also expressed this to the front desk as well and the young man there, who was not black, started talking about his *own* challenges. Ok. This is a property I've stayed at before and while I noticed poorer service compared to the sister property L'Horizon, my perspective on the staffing and management of Colony Palms was overwhelming clear that I was not really welcome. This is NOT a standard for palm springs and there are so many great properties whose staff and managers I've grown to l love. So many other properties have an unbiased and proactive approach to service whether youre a new guest or a regular. This is not one.…
Rude and flip front desk, negligent manager. Hotel gave me a headache when they messed with my money and messed up my bank acccount causing me hours of having to be on the phone while on vacation dealing with their error. They double charged my deposit hold!!!!!! Guess whay they didn't care about the stress they caused, the work that they gave me to do while on vacaton and the inonvenience of not having my money available to me! They offered a piddling discount and caused more stress by being hella rude. I expect contrition and comps - not gaslighting and attitude.
It was a very relaxing get away. A few things would have made it perfect though, one was there were a few fussy babies and toddlers at the restaurant. I was under the impression that this was an adult hotel. I had the waiter move me 2 times. Also, I am not sure why this happened but I got eaten by mosquitoes.
