Originally built in 1936 by reputed Purple Gang Mobster Al Wertheimer, the Colony Palms Hotel was once a saloon, speakeasy and gambling house that later became a playground for Hollywood ICONS including Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Rita Hayworth. Colony Palms Hotel has maintained its nobility as a stunning four-star boutique hotel spread out over a three acre property. The rooms promise subtle sophistication with brilliantly colored mosaic tiles and fabrics, rich woods, and suzani headboards. Many have fireplaces and claw-foot bathtubs. Mature gardens throughout the property provide privacy, and intimate outdoor spaces, and the rooms open to the a central courtyard with pool. The hotel’s restaurant, the Purple Palm boasts exquisite cuisine and a stunning view of both the pool and San Jacinto Mountains. The newly redesigned Spa offers a serene atmosphere and top of the line treatments. Colony Palms Hotel also plays host to a variety of stunning weddings and events, with the option of utilizing a newly refreshed private event space or a full property buyout for a truly intimate celebration. Colony Palms Hotel is a mix of modern luxuries with a dash of romance and tranquil getaway.

We've stayed at five star hotels across California - from Auberge du Soleil and Hotel Bel Air - and without question, its the staff that makes the difference. So you can imagine how thrilled we were to meet Brandi at the Colony's front desk; she knows all the details of virtually every room, the inside angle on enjoying every single one of the resort's amenities and has a wealth of information on Palm Springs. She offers her insight with charm, wit and perspective; she is a delight from the moment you arrive in the welcome lobby of the hotel. Quite simply, Brandi is exceptional, one of the best in hospitality in the state of California. The owners and operators of the Colony have done a great job of recruiting and inspiring leaders such as Brandi to do their best each and every day. After all, its leaders like Brandi that define a 5-star experience...and Brandi lights up the sky. The colony deserves every one of its 5-stars thanks to the commitment, integrity, professionalism and charm of team members such as Brandi!

We initially really enjoyed our stay, until it all took a turn of worse! Our property was damaged by the hotel staff and we are yet to be reimbursed. although the staff and manager are aware of the situation everyone has been extremely unhelpful ! We literally send daily emails to the manger Bruno and 2 months down the line we are yet to receive compensation. Considering the cost to stay at this hotel I would expect much better, I can’t believe I forked out $300 for breakfast yet I can’t even get and email back!! Not happy at all tbh!

People are always the heart of a company. It speaks volumes of the management that they are capable of hiring incredible people. Everyone I interaacted with was beyond helpful and sweet. Brandi was incredible from the moment we walked in the door. She catered to us like we were celebrities. We found ourselves intentionally stopping by the lobby just to talk to her. Your staff and Brandi made this our favorite vacation and we can’t thank you enough. Incredible experience. Brandi we love you 💗

So disappointed w our first visit here. Terrible service. Umbrellas lowered during peak hot hours. Limited menu. Strict timing issues. One issue after another. Just disappointed. Will not stay here again.

Hello, Thank You for your feedback, we work hard everyday to make our property better. It saddens us all that your time here was not what was expected, we always want guest to have the best and most memorable time here. Concerning our menu the chef at the Colony Club keep a rotating menu, meaning food items are changed constantly to keep our guests from getting bored. The Coachella Valley had a high wind advisory all week, We lower the umbrellas for your safety. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to have you back. Thank you once again for sharing your experience it will be passed down, and we will improve.

Firstly they decided to cancel our booking and not make any further contact with giving any information as to why, I had to constantly contact them for 3 months and they completely ignored every email and message I sent. Thankfully booking.com stepped in and sorted it out for us. Upon checking out the valet who works for the hotel broke the seat in the car we had rented, spoke to the front of house on site who had agreed to pay for the damages and didn't ask any further questions. They are now dragging their feet and general manager Bruno Santos completely ignores calls and emails. Rude and unprofessional, not taking responsibility, I will not be commencing legal action. Do not recommend, spend your money elsewhere where they are kind and accommodating to their guests.

Best stay in Palm Springs. Service is silent while perfectly executed, and the designs are integrated perfectly. It has been nicely refurbish to combine modern cleanliness with vintage integrity. Thank you to everyone.

Loved our stay. Has a very pleasant stay. Pool was such a relaxing place to unwind. Staff was really nice. All the new decor was super stylish and tasteful. The food in the restaurant was very good. We’ve also visited in summer and appreciate that the pool is cooled during the really hot months.

The service I had during my stay two weekends ago from the front desk staff to the pool side service and the restaurant was outstanding. I was extremely impressed by the care, friendliness and service provided by the staff especially during the post pandemic recovery and staff shortage. My friends and I stayed next door at the Triada and had the worst experience being Gold members of Marriott we expected better service, however we received motel level service. We were so happy to cross the street and changed hotels and quickly redeemed the experience.

We have been traveling to Palm Springs for years and always stay at The Colony Palms. We have seen several turnovers in ownership, some were disappointing and some have been more positive as was the case this time. Overall we had an exceptional experience. The redecoration is nice and was much needed. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating, especially Robert who works in the restaurant and does pool service. The room was nice and we appreciated the updates. The only negative aside from perhaps the daily parking fee of $35, was the fact that they only have espresso machines, not coffee machines in the rooms. I can live with this if coffee is made available in the office/reception area early in the morning. (as it has been under previous ownership) For it not even to be available for purchase before 8 a.m. was a major inconvenience especially if you are looking to get out early for a jog or a hike. It got very old walking to the neighborhood coffee shop each morning. I will definitely return, but I hope there is coffee available on site and early for my next visit!
