Inspired by the nonchalant elegance of Slim Aaron’s photographs, The Riviera Palm Springs, A Tribute Portfolio Resort is an iconic, desert oasis with a sprinkling of retro nostalgia. The whimsy of Hollywood Regency in the guest rooms of our downtown Palm Springs, California resort merges with the modern eclectic spirit of the public areas and makes for a perfectly unique getaway.

Ok so in the past I have stayed here over 20 times, yeah to say I loved it was an understatement. I'm not sure what has happened in the past two years, but the place is absolutely run down, the service is depressing and the food...not edible. For two stays I chalked it up to poor upkeep or poor service for the weekend, things happen. However, the last time I stayed with the Riviera was the end of my faith, the front desk stuck us in a very old room that overlooked a construction zone with porta-potties that had been sitting in the sun all day (it smelled horrible). The bathroom was filthy, very old and the carpet was soooo worn and black. The thing is they do have a handful of renovated rooms that are shown on the site and are always talked about by management, if you're lucky you will get placed in one of those rooms. This weekend we weren't lucky. We tried to call the front desk, but no answer :( The smell was SO bad we actually left and booked another hotel down the street, took the loss and kept it moving. This place has a lot of potential if only it was kept up and run properly. STEP UP YOUR GAME GUYS, I want to love you and I want to come back again when things are better.

Most of the pictures seen on the are nice but the details are not correct. IT was a nice stay but we were put in an older room with broken items in the room, not updated. There was construction going on as well which wasn't noted on the description or website. It was an nice stay but a bit disappointing. Room was clean.

We were very disappointed with this hotel which was highly recommended on several sites. Most rooms (including ours) have a view of the parking lot. So the hotel has a very motel-like feel with you staring at your car outside your window. The layout is awful with a long walk to each room. The hotel is definitely dated! In our room, the sink was clogged and one of the bed frames was broken. Lots of other better choices in town!

This place is more like 3.5 stars- doesn’t have the ‘wow’ factor, but it’s very underrated overall. The beds are very comfy with great pillows. Room temperature can be adjusted to maximize comfort as well. And there is a coffee machine in the room, as well as a closet (both essential). My irritation with the room is simply that it’s hard to get ready in the bathroom. There is a makeup mirror which is nice, but the lighting is way better right under the sink. It’s a large bowl type of sink, which makes it hard to get ready in front of when you need to get close to the mirror. Also, the toilet is right in the same room as the sink and shower- this isn’t a luxury upscale type of place. It’s not somewhere you’d want to take pictures of to share on social media, but it’s nice enough for a weekend getaway. So overall, it’s cute and retro, and the pool is nice. Celebrities have stayed here in its golden age- Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Crowd at the hotel was a fair mix of young couples, families, older couples, and bachelorette parties. The gym was decent as well- but could use some upgraded equipment and nicer floors (or mats, at the least).

We enjoyed our stay - we were in block 4 which was quieter, we ate at the outside restaurant and had a lovely dinner of tapas and live music in beautiful mature surroundings. Just watch out for the main pool during the day - definitely for posing!!
