The hotel is reasonably priced and in a great location, convenient to downtown but it is currently undergoing renovation. We had a room that was partly reno'd -- new floors and paint so the room was clean, no bugs. But the outside condition of the hotel is rough and the pool was unuseable while we were there. The staff are friendly and helpful but don't book if you plan to swim.

Looking at the reviews had me skeptical. But, I tried anyway and I really enjoyed my stay. Nice rooms, great area, Pizza Hut across the street, stores and restaurants are nearby, safe, family oriented. Pool and jacuzzi. What more could I ask for! Oh and the staff are so nice, they went above and beyond. The scenery is everything. Any time I’m in the area, I’ll be staying here. Always!!

The owner and night man Bill are very kind...but its a shame that they allow drug people to stay there...let alone renting to loud, no respect inconsiderate people banging and yelling early mornings. I was suppose to have a micro-wave, there was none. it took 15 minutes for water to get warm for a shower....they really should invest money to upgrade for a higher reputable clientele......also it was over priced. I chose the desert lodge as I just wanted a cheap motel that was clean for sleep while I road tripped through the superbloom. This place takes retro to a new level, a similar motel in anywhere other than Palm Springs would cost $35-$45 a night and for that price I wouldn't care. But for $100 (or more) a night this place is grossly over priced considering how badly it needs updating. My rooms was clean, no plug in the bath, no trash can. TV didn't work at first although they quickly fixed that and one lamp didnt work. The pool looked decent enough but I was exhausted from hiking all I wanted was a bed to sleep in. The location was perfect for me as I was going to hike Tahquitz Cyn the next day - 2 stars 1 for location, 1 for a clean and comfy bed which is all I needed. So stay if u need a bed but just know a motel 6 offers a far nicer room.
