The Monkey Tree Hotel is a private 16-room boutique hotel nestled against the backdrop of the gorgeous San Jacinto mountains on a large one-acre property in Palm Springs, California. Originally designed and built in 1960, the hotel re-opened in 2016, after a restoration by its current owners to its original mid-century modern design. A healthy continental breakfast is served every morning and is included in the room price. Inside the expansive private courtyard are a large, heated saltwater swimming pool and lush lawn area spacious enough to find a secluded area to relax in peace. The hotel also boasts the area’s first Scandinavian spa, which includes a dry sauna, hot tub and cold plunge. Use the spa to rejuvenate, re-energize, or recover from a workout.

The Monkey Tree is great! They have all the amenities you need. They are very flexible and easy going. Lots of attention to detail in the decor inside and out. I recommend for a mellow, relaxing weekend with a cool Palm Springs vibe.

We are #1 fans of The Monkey Tree. The attention to details is spot-on! The resort is clean and beautifully decorated. Our room had a perfect view and loved looking out in the evening with all the lighting. The staff is friendly and accommodating. A continental breakfast is provided and delivered by Gary the chef each morning. The freshly baked muffins are the best I’ve ever eaten. This is our GoTo Palm Springs getaway! A+ resort!

Our first trip to Palm Springs, we chose this off the beaten path hotel. But located close to all attractions. Our room was very comfortable with a kitchenette. We stayed here for almost a week. Due to Covid, no housekeeping services, but we left our dirty towels etc outside our door and they were promptly replaced with fresh towels. Any request was also promptly responded. Our favorite was the continental breakfast which included a freshly baked muffin every day, different flavor every day. Very thoughtful breakfast with muffin, Dannon yogurt cup with I believe homemade granola, fruit and a bottled water. The hotel grounds are beautiful! Located in a neighborhood, from the outside doesn't look like a hotel. When you enter thru the front doors, it's a serene setting with palm trees. It is an older property but lovingly restored by the current owners. I would highly recommend this lovely place for future Palm Springs visitors.

Highly recommend The Monkey Tree Hotel. The pool area is fantastic and our room looked right over the pool. I like the privacy this place has and no kids. Kathy is an amazing host. Will definitely be back.
