At the Triada Palm Springs, Autograph Collection, guests are enchanted by the nostalgic charm and tasteful decor that evoke a bygone era. Many visitors laud the hotel's prime location, ideal for exploring nearby restaurants and attractions on foot. The service at Triada has received accolades for its warmth and attentiveness, and the hotel's multiple pools, despite some size concerns, add to the allure. However, some guests believe the value doesn't align with the Autograph Collection reputation, pointing to cleanliness issues and high expenses. While most find the rooms comfortable, a few suggest they could benefit from updates and better soundproofing.

We stayed for three nights in room 217, a room facing the pool, with a nice deck view in front of the room. The room has 1 king with a nice walk-in shower! The hotel offers calm and tranquil ambiance while on vacation or for work! Staff were all great! They are helpful and attentive to our needs!

I believe your experience here depends on what you expect at this price point and what your priorities are. You’ll notice the reviews vary widely. If you are chill, enjoy an old world elegance, not looking for high touch customer service and don’t mind a bit of noise, then this is likely the place for you. Its location during Modernism Week, or any week, can’t be beat—highly walkable. But, some rooms do abut a very busy road, so there is car noise. The old gates are loud and you will hear them slam at 2:00 am. The walls are thin. The pool area is never busy and my husband and I loved the low key atmosphere. But, if you want five star service and amenities, stay elsewhere. This location is not owned by Marriott. They lend their name and stamp of approval, and the hotel is supposed to conform to its standards, but it is clearly being run on a tight budget (I do not know this for sure, simply seems logical). Limited staff. My guess is that is why customer experience is so uneven, as you can see in other reviews. I wish the price point during high season was slightly lower—I think then expectations would be set correctly. Can you likely do better at this price point elsewhere? Yes. But my husband and I were happy with our choice and definitely recommend, for the right kind of traveler. The location cannot be beat. We did not rent a car and walked everywhere. Gilbert, the bartender, is wonderful and super helpful, he told us about the history of the hotel and gave local recommendations. I might recommend asking for one of the 2nd floor rooms between the two pool areas, stay away from rooms along the road. Would I stay again, well there are many great options in a Palm Springs. Likely not. The owners need to reset their price point lower or hire more staff and go high touch. They are shooting themselves in the foot by trying to find the middle ground. Just my opinion.

We stayed here with our baby during COVID. We liked that there was outdoor entrance to room so no inner hallways or elevators that would make us nervous. Great location close to downtown Palm Springs. Manager was great. When room next door was occupied with folks making some noise happily helped move us to a room with no neighbor so that our baby could sleep. Rooms aren’t huge, but King room was clean and with affordable COVID pricing it felt like a good safe stay. Small boutique hotel so make sure you know what you are getting. Don’t come here if expecting large resort hotel.

Like most things in Palm Springs, this hotel is unfortunately a bit of a throwback. The photos make it seem quite modern but in reality it is a bit rundown. The facilities and rooms aren't fresh and generally seem like a bunch of (old and worn) stuff was thrown into a room. So overall, I didn't feel like this was a great value and was surprised for an Autograph Collection property.

On the plus side, the set up is great for a friends' weekend where rooms surround the pools. I was upgraded to a Casita (which really is just a suite with a kitchen and living room) which seems to be common - my friends were also upgraded. We did note that most of the housekeeping staff was not wearing masks as we saw them enter and exit rooms they were cleaning, which was really concerning. After mentioning this to the front desk, they said they would speak to the housekeeping staff, and to their credit, we did not see the staff without masks after that point. However, the bartender at the pool bar was wearing a mask which has a vent, which are known to be bad for spread and are no longer allowed in many cities and by any airline.

I noticed later that all of the signs that tell you that a mask is required shown the mask being worn improperly, so it isn't surprising that the staff isn't getting it right. We also never saw anyone disinfecting anything in common areas. And we saw a few guests smoking on-property even though I thought the property was smoke-free.

Overall, I wouldn't return during the pandemic and would consider staying elsewhere given the price point.

Let me begin with the positives. The staff at this property was great. Everyone was cheerful, helpful, and tried their best to make our stay a good one. The other positive is the location. It is an easy walk into the main area of downtown Palm Springs, and there are many fabulous stores and restaurants nearby. The 2 stars are for those 2 reasons. The property itself has potential, but it needs a lot of help. We are platinum elite members and this is the worst Bonvoy hotel we have ever stayed at. We purposely booked a suite with a kitchen. First of all the walls are paper thin and I doubt that the windows are double paned, so you hear a lot of outdoor noise and noise from other rooms. We heard the large dog baking in a nearby room quite well. The room itself was not clean, it needed painting, the furniture is old, scuffed, threadbare, and uncomfortable. The sofa dipped to the center, there was no place on the sofa to sit that was comfortable. The screens were bent so insects could come in when the window were open, Perhaps the worst feature was the kitchen. It wasn't outfitted well at all....impossible to cook with what is included in the kitchen. The plates were made of plastic and they burned when we put them in the microwave, There was absolutely no way to heat anything in the microwave unless it was just placed on a paper towel. That does not work for most foods. We requested microwave safe plates so that we could heat our dinner, they had nothing they could offer us. We asked for a blender to make smoothies, again they did not have one to offer us. I could continue....but you get the idea. We were scheduled to be there for 7 nights, we left after just one and found somewhere else to stay. The cost for that one night was $460.00 and they comped the parking....and that was a monday night. Needless to say I would not return to this hotel unless it had a major facelift.

Stayed during COVID at the Triada in Palm Springs, a lovely addition to Marriott's Autograph Collection. As an ambassador member we were welcomed graciously with many apologies that the kitchen was closed and no breakfast would be available, however we would receive points and if we needed anything they would help us get what we need. The front desk had upgraded me and my gf to a beautiful casita suite with a kitchen, two patios and a nice King bed. The room fit Palm Springs so well and really had the character and vibe that I'm looking for when staying in the desert. My only issue with the room was a very small bathroom - however everything worked very well in the bathroom and the shower was super nice, so no major issues there at all.

We ordered takeout dinner with some other friends who were staying at the property from a nearby mexican restaurant and the staff helped us with plates, bottle opener, and plasticware. I would have loved to have had real silverware and the like, but that wasn't an option due to COVID. They helped us with an outdoor heater and a few other items to make sure we were comfortable and all was good.

I look forward to returning to the property when COVID is not an issue, though I can imagine it is probably packed during those times.

I was looking forward to a stay at a boutique, old Palm Springs style hotel. The Triada is part of BonVoy so I felt that their Covid cleaning would be top notch. It wasn't. The mold in the shower was disgusting. The carpet by the small fridge was wet.
Our room 818, a standard king was at the top of the stairs. Unless you pulled down the screens people walking up look directly at your bed. It also was extremely noisy both at night and starting at 6am in the morning. In addition to that noise, the pool music went until 1030 with the drunken party people yelling until after 11pm. In the morning there was also a lot of joise coming from the lobby below.
Now about the pool areas, there was no way to tell if the lounge pads were clean. Sone of the white pool towels were actually stained brown. Without any locks on the gates I had the feeling that not everyone was a guest.
Surprisingly we will never return to this hotel. Maybe a different room would have been a help but as I said, they don't seem to take Covid seriously.

I was extremely impressed by the service at the Triada. Christina, Jessica, Dania and Aaron where very attentive to my questions and requests. I had a lovely corner room with views of both pools and a small private patio. The architecture is "eclectic Spanish Colonial Revival". There are two pools on the property, both in courtyards;one is salt water.

According to documentation in hotel and information provided by the staff, the spectacular lobby was built in 1928 as a private residence. Venture capitalist David Margolius purchased it in 1939 and expanded the property. By 1948 it was called The Ambassador Hotel, later Alan Ladd's Spanish Inn. It was a favorite of Howard Hughes, Lana Turner, Jimmy Durant, Elizabeth Taylor and others.

The property was abandoned in 1994 when subsequent owners went bankrupt. After two decades it reopened as the Triada, Marriott after an $8 Million dollar renovation. While my room was nice - pool view and small balcony, it could use a little updating in terms of carpet, sofa and paint touchups.

The nightly rate I paid was very reasonable. I highly recommend this hotel for those who want to "experience" the hotel's history and superior customer service.

Following a business trip to Palm Springs, I stayed at the Triada Autograph Marriott, a choice fueled by my loyalty to Marriott Bonvoy. Upon arrival, the warmth and helpfulness of the front desk staff, particularly with dining suggestions, set a positive tone. The building, which is older and possibly historic, lacked an elevator, but the staff kindly assisted with my luggage to my upstairs room. The room itself impressed me with its cleanliness and tasteful decor, alongside a notably comfortable bed that ensured restful sleep, undisturbed by the bustling street outside. My stay spanned four nights, a period during which I particularly appreciated the room's comfort and the well-kept hotel grounds, including a refreshing saltwater pool offering pleasing views and swimming experiences.
However, my anticipation for a vibrant bar scene was met with disappointment. Expecting the luxury and sophistication typical of Autograph Collection hotels, I found the bar dimly lit and lacking atmosphere, a stark contrast to the lively, social setting I enjoy, especially after a day of work. The limited selection at the pool bar, while acceptable for outdoor settings, did not live up to the standards of luxury accommodation, both in terms of beverage options and the level of service. This was evident when seeking a whiskey at the bar, encountering not only a limited selection but also a lack of knowledgeable staff, which discouraged me from ordering more complex cocktails.
The food and beverage offerings represented a significant missed opportunity for the Triada to enhance the guest experience. This was further highlighted by a breakfast experience that fell short of expectations, with a basic request for a cheese omelet with sausage being poorly executed.
Understanding that the Autograph Collection aims to offer unique, upscale experiences, it was disappointing to find these aspects not fully realized at the Triada. While the hotel’s location is advantageous, close to downtown Palm Springs and its array of dining options, the lack of a vibrant hotel bar and quality in-house dining detracted from the overall experience.
As a seasoned traveler and dedicated Marriott customer, I felt compelled to share these observations, aligning with other reviews I unfortunately did not consult before booking. This feedback is shared in the hope of constructive improvement, especially in the food and beverage department, to better align with the expectations set by the Autograph Collection's reputation. For those seeking merely a comfortable place to rest, the Triada meets the mark, particularly given its convenient location. However, for those of us who value a complete luxury hotel experience, including a dynamic bar and quality dining, there's room for growth.

Our flight home was cancelled at the last minute and we had to stay overnight unexpectedly. I chose this hotel on the Marriott app as it was very near the airport and reasonably priced, especially for an Autograph Collection Hotel. I arrived at the hotel less than an hour after making the reservation and was able to check in immediately (even though it was before the official check in time). We were given a very quiet room on the second floor. It was clean and comfortable, though it could have used better lighting. There is also no elevator to the second floor which was a bit difficult with our heavy suitcase, but manageable.

We spent a couple of hours by the pool with the bar and it was quiet and pleasant. The other pool area was not as nice, the pool was colder and the hot tub was not working which was disappointing.

The hotel location could not be beat (especially compared to where we had stayed all week in the outer reaches of Palm Desert). We could walk to countless restaurants and stores in central Palm Springs. We took the hotel's recommendations for both dinner and breakfast and had great meals (particularly dinner which was the best meal we had in 8 days in Palm Springs).

The best part of the hotel was the staff. They were exceedingly friendly on check-in and check out, and provided us with a few complimentary toiletries (we had thrown some out as we thought we were going home).

Probably most of the rooms are out door hallways. FYI, I didn't feel very safe at this hotel. My shower had mold, the carpet was wet from a leaking mini fridge. My general feeling was that Covid cleaning procedures weren't taken seriously. Its also very noisy, at least our room at the top of the stairs was. The pool music was very loud till after 10pm.
