Upon check in I saw the room and immediately left to request a new option. The room was small, not at all like the photo, not well kept and directly over the parking lot- but I was being charged $400+ per night. I was told a move wasn’t possible - other rooms were not available to me. I then went back to the room called Marriott’s Platinum Elite line and was told I need to bring my problems up to the front desk. I said I would find a non Marriott hotel instead. At that point I was told someone would call me as this was an urgent matter. I also direct messaged the assistance account on Twitter and received the same feedback. I have yet to hear from anyone. I luckily found another hotel at a similar price point and much nicer experience, the exact opposite of Triada. As I checked out at Triada, approx 30 - 40 mins after check in, there was no effort made by the GM to rectify the problem instead he told me he needed me to stay in the lobby while he checked the room to make sure I didn’t take anything. The whole experience was disheartening and incredibly disappointing. I won’t ever stay at this hotel again, and I no longer plan to be a loyalist to Marriott.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Remember they too are dealing with COVID. It is clear when looking at other reviews that there are a variety of rooms and some have been updated others were not. Our stay was only for one night and the room was fine and comfortable. I agree with some comments regarding the utensils in the kitchen, could use a refresh. I do believe the property has old Palm Springs charm with both a salt and chlorine pool. As an elite member we were offered late check out.

The room was nasty..majorly soiled mattress that they couldn't swap out due to Covid. I was there with my gf, and her 2kids. Check in is at 4, already later than the standard check-in at hotels, but, whatever. We arrived at 4:45 but the room was still not ready (at almost 5PM).. I requested some sort of extra accommodation for this (as we were told we wouldn't be able to check in until 5:45PM!), and then the mgr offered free parking. But I had to ask, so, that's lame, they should offer that sort of thing up without someone having to ask, considering we wouldn't be able to get into the room until closer to 6PM, and we had a car-load of stuff/drove in from Colorado. But, the main/most serious complaint was the couch/the pull out mattress. It was soiled in several spots, like totally disgusting. So now we have 2 tired grossed out kids. As mentioned, the hotel couldn't swap out the mattress due to covid protocols, but how this mattress wasn't in the trash long ago is really the best indicator of how much they care about keeping their stuff tight.. look at the other reviews here, the place isn't well cared for. We called/requested extra sheets and blanket as the kids wanted to sleep on the floor; the extra sheets/blanket never came. After complaining immediately, the mgr was kind (the one star is for the mostly nice staff, the valet, and the person serving around the pool), and said that we could check out the next day if we wanted..if we could find another hotel. This is during spring break, and most hotels were full. The next day we road tripped to Joshua Tree (incredible as always), got back, grabbed a bite, and I spoke to another mgr (Mike), told him what happened the day before, and he said he'd refund me. This was around 5:30PM. The first manager never mentioned anything about a time. Mike said he'd refund me for the room. Period. He didn't say anything like 'oh, you are telling me too late in the day, so we can't refund you', he said 'you will be refunded for the room, it may take 7days' or whatever. He gave me this printed check-out doc showing me that he only charged me for one night. Then/today, I received an e-mail w/ a 'new' foloio, and saw that they only refunded $100. When I called to discuss after seeing that the room was not refunded, the (first) mgr said that I needed to let them know we were checking out BEFORE NOON. But she never said that when we first spoke/didn't mention any specific time when we first spoke, she only said a version of 'no prob, let me know tomorrow if you are able to find a place, and we'll refund you'. So we have both poor communication (because we found another spot to sleep thinking we'd get a full refund here), as well as a disgusting mattress that should be burned. Plus some more minor (but still lame) things like the shower can only be turned on when you are in it (meaning you will get wet before you can adjust temp), and the curtains were all falling off their rods.. while I don't really care about curtains, the hotel should. In short: you can do much much better in PalmSprings, they are way (imo) overcharging for a place where no one is paying attention to the details (in the room, or on the communication front). I suggested next time they let the guest know about specific times, etc to avoid at least in part my weak experience here.

Good for the Mind, Body and Soul - the Triada is the trifecta. This truly is a Palm Springs Signature stay with the classic charm and charisma of an old Hollywood hiatus. And the staff - top notch. Really! From the moment you arrive to your final departure you feel welcome and wanted - and wanted back! Save room 318 for me!

As lifetime Marriott Rewards Plan members, we were excited to try this "Autograph Collection" hotel. This should not even be in the "Marriott Family". No parking-only very expensive valet parking; no water offered or in the rooms; no bath robes (their excuse was that with covid, they would not know if the robes had been used. Well, DUH, you don't know if the towels or sheets are used, but you wash them anyway. The bar was closed, & the restaurant was only open 8AM-Noon for breakfast ($15.00 for bacon & eggs). The rooms were very stark-like a Timeshare waiting room (my wife's description). However, their staff was great: Aaron was a whirlwind of help; Kevin & Mike were very pleasant. Needless to say, we will not be back-especially for $200.00 per night on a weeknight.
