My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the end of March. We've stayed at larger hotels in the area in the past and the Hideaway is our new fave. We loved the small scale of the property and the 2 people per room / no pets / no children policy as well as the mid-century vibe. The location was spectacular, just a few blocks off the main strip but far enough away that it was peaceful and quiet. Rooms have been updated but are not super "new," so if that matters to you, be aware. We brought a small cooler with us, which came in handy poolside. The hotel is in walking distance of the Museum Trail / North Lykken Trail, which was pretty strenuous but doable once the sun was behind the mountains (we saw some bighorn sheep!). The only downside of our visit, which I assume is temporary, is that the pool was not heated as advertised. My husband dove in anyway but there was no way I could do so given how cold it was.…
I was looking for a lovely hotel-cation for my parent's anniversary and this place exceeded my expectations. Thank you Angela for making them feel welcomed with a celebratory card and chocolates! The suite was a quiet paradise surrounded by a beautiful garden and I was happy to hear about their pleasant experience at The Hideaway. Contactless check-in/out was available and they also enjoyed hiking at Tahquitz Canyon nearby.
What an amazing stay at The Hideaway! I’ve stayed at several places in the Historic Tennis Club District, and this place is by far the most peaceful and relaxing. First and foremost, the Burns design is stunning and the owners have obviously spent a lot of careful attention to preserve the original design and energy of the property. It’s an intimate space with few rooms, which translates to a private and quiet experience. The room was spacious and nicely detailed. I loved the original tile work in the bathroom and the images of the place from yesteryear. The grounds were meticulously kept. The pool made the 115 degree days much more pleasant. The housekeeper, Margarita, was so sweet and made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. The property manager, Alden, was also incredibly kind and even helped accommodate an extra night’s stay at the last minute. The property had appropriate COVID-19 mitigation protocols in place. Lastly, what a value! I paid more than half of what I would pay at an adjacent property and felt like 110% of my expectations were met. I thank The Hideaway for providing a restful and restorative space for a much needed getaway!…
Can not believe the complete and utter lack of customer service and unprofessionalism displayed by The Hideaway. My group rented out the entire venue for close to $5,000, and had to secure general liability insurance to the tune of $1,000,000 in order to stay here. We are all professionals (fire fighters, attorneys, engineers, doctors and business owners) and were excited to have a weekend away from dealing with COVID for the last five months. Now don't get me wrong- the venue is epic. Super cool midcentury modern that Palm Springs is known for. However things took a turn when Angela, the company's rep decided to drop by at 8:30am Saturday morning, after 15 adults had been up partying all night until the wee hours of the morning. She then sent an email around 10am threatening that we would not be able to stay Saturday night because we left the place too messy. Of course we were nowhere near our email and didn't realize she sent that until she stopped by at 11am to "check up" on us adults. And by that time we were up out of bed, and had the place spotless. Even the sweet housekeeper kicked us out of the kitchen and told us to not worry about cleaning up and that we needed to enjoy ourselves. I've included the condescending email for reference as to how juvenile Angela's tone was towards us, and my response. What really gets me is that I responded to her email (days later) and included someone from the company's management level and almost two weeks later have yet to receive a response. Guess they're too cool to acknowledge and take credit for a mistake. Sucks because we were planning to rent out the entire place again in September but we've decided to spend our money elsewhere.…
Stayed here over the Christmas holidays and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and appointed in the mid century modern style. It almost felt like we were on a TV or movie set - so perfect! There is no front desk, no concierge, no bell staff, no bar. This is a place for total rest and relaxation. If you enjoy peace and quiet and don’t want to be bothered ... this is the spot for you. We loved the location - you can walk two blocks to the main retail/restaurant/shopping area. After rambling around Palm Springs during the day, we came back to our little Hideaway, grabbed a book and sat by the pool until the sun went down. At night you can sit by the fire pit and read or chat with other guests. Truly a sanctuary! Would most definitely stay here again.…
