We loved everything about our stay at this gem of a boutique hotel, plumb in the middle of town, but tucked away on a quiet block. The vibe is white washed Palm Springs with a touch of Spanish mission. We had Twin Queen beds in Room 24 next to the pool, with a humungous bathroom complete with free-standing tub. For a splurge get the upper terrace rooms with views across to the mountain. Kudos for the empty bar fridge ready for one’s own snacks and drinks, massive of storage space both in the room and bathroom, nooks and crannies with outside tables and chairs, chilled water by the pool, and all spotlessly clean. The guest pantry next to reception offers drinks and treats to purchase and complimentary tea and coffee, and a generous plate of pastries or cakes. It was super handy for us having a microwave there, too. There are also complimentary bicycles for the well-marked network of bicycle trails around the town, and an on-site restaurant and café (although we didn’t have time to try these). The Alcazar is great value in Palm Springs; not much more than an average motel stay and certainly well below the other four and five star hotels. The staff did a thorough job cleaning and sanitizing, even wiping down the sun loungers in the morning. We would definitely come back and stay again.   Cons The smell of bleach after housekeeping has been (bring your own scented candle or buy one from reception!) The maintenance person blowing the leaves every morning at 7.30am. Would have been handy to have tea and coffee facilities in the room as the guest pantry didn’t open until 7.30am.

Robert and the team run a great ship at the Alcazar......this is our third time staying at the Alcazar and it just keeps getting better. The rooms are nicely presented, super clean and spacious. There is a ceiling fan, AC and small fridge in each room. There is good off street parking and the centre of town is only a short walk which is great for heading out in the evenings. There is complimentary coffee and pastries each morning from 7.30am. The Pool area is really nice with lots of sun loungers and umbrellas for shade. We never fail to meet great people staying here while chilling in the pool. We love this place and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Superb boutique hotel with such a chilled vibe - as soon as you walk into this amazing oasis of calm you feel good. Stayed 3 nights after a really hectic 2 weeks at a Sports tournament in Cincinnati so my son and I were really in need of some down time. We stopped off here to meet with old friends, now P.S residents, before heading up to L.A and S.F and it’s was almost perfect. Arriving quite late we checked in to room 35 ( I think) a poolside double bedded room, really nice quiet room with a lovely spacious bathroom with a tub and separate shower, quality toiletries and first class linens. Really comfortable bed and pillows and lots of space for clothes though 7 hangers for 2 people was a bit meagre - not a problem though, Krystal at reception sourced more for us. Our only problem was the air conditioning which was unfeasibly loud - like an engine so we both had to sleep with noise cancelling headphones on - I mentioned it at reception however they didn’t offer to come and check it which I was surprised at, we stayed at 6 other hotels during our trip of the U.S.A and didn’t experience anything like this anywhere else, this is the only reason I haven’t given Alcazar 5 stars. . The pool and pool area are just amazing, with the mountains and date palms in the near distance, and the coolest music playing you really feel like you’re in a movie. Iced water and pool towels on hand complete the picture. We could have stayed by the pool all day - next time we will. Croissants, coffee, interesting teas and juice from or sometimes cake or other pastries from 7.30 a.m but Cheeky’s for breakfast is the BEST, we especially liked their Ranchos Huervos, Bacon Flight, Cinnamon buns and green juice - great team working there too made it a really fun experience. This is the sort of hotel you dream of returning to. Till the next time.

Loved this boutique, small, quirky hotel. Rooms were minimally decorated, all white decor including white vinyl floors. Bed was super comfortable. Lovely bed linens. Everything about the room felt luxurious. Bathroom had a lovely rain shower and was well appointed. Pool area is lovely and relaxing. Complimentary towels are refreshed regulalry. Iced water is kept topped up. Nice relaxing background music. Open until 11pm - just what is needed after an evening meal in 97 degree heat! Complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning is a nice touch. Staff were all perfectly pleasant and relaxed. The ajoining restaurant seemed really popular although we didn't eat there. Overall one of the most relaxing enjoyable hotels Ive ever stayed in.

Very well-run property. This is ideal for those who prefer a small, quiet place to relax. There is a spectacular view of the San Jacinto mountain from the East side of the pool area. Ask for Room 36 if you want to stare at it all day! The rooms are intentionally under-decorated, but clean and with very good beds. The bathroom is quite spacious and modern. Keep bathroom door closed to ensure a cool room if you are there in the summer!. The owners also have two restaurants that adjoin the property. One is a popular Italian restaurant BIRBA and the other a Breakfast/Lunch (cozy) "Cheeky's". Additionally, Palm Canyon Drive is steps away and a mild walk southward gets you into all the shops and restaurants. No need to drive. We even used the bicycles for a great Sunday morning ride along the Las Palmas loop (directly West of the hotel). I only have two things I'd like to see changed: 1) the pool gates open at 7am, which means I can't enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the morning sun hit the mountain (which happens around 6-ish during the summer). Likewise, while the hotel provides coffee and baked goods, they aren't available until 7:30. 2) the hotel pumps music around the pool area and it is a (imho) monotonous "new age" marathon. So, if hours of that would annoy you, bring ear buds and your own music. On the consecutive weekends in July that I stayed there, there were only 1 or 2 families with young children. Primarily it is couples or solo folks. There is sufficient parking on the property as well as an overnight security guard. This is a lovely place, if you value quietude and the charm of "old palm springs". I can't wait to go back.

Stayed here for 3 nights and wishing it was longer. This is a cute courtyard style hotel with the prerequisite air conditioning and pool. It’s clean and quiet. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Bikes for your use and restaurants on site. Our room is was a pool side king. The bed was very comfy. Staff are really great and we could not get enough of the pool. Thus is a low key relax kind of place. We loved it and can’t wait to return.

We stayed recently at the Alcazar during March break. The others in my party had stayed here before but it was my first time. I really enjoyed my stay, the room was nice and comfortable and I did not find any issues with it but if car noise bothers you I would suggest you not stay in a mountain view room (mention to the staff and they should be able to help out). As I said I did not have any issues with it. The hotel is smaller which I enjoyed as the pool and courtyard was never too busy. The hotel is on the north end of the main strip in Palm Springs but there are many great bars and restaurants within walking distance and bikes are available for sign out at no charge. The staff was always really friendly and helpful. The view from the balcony outside my room was really amazing and you could watch the sun go down over the mountains.

We had a wonderful stay. I’m glad we splurged for a poolside room, it was well worth the money. Our room, the hotel pool area and grounds, and breakfast were all fantastic. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We traveled from Virginia to meet friends in Palm Springs for Moderism Week. This was our first time to PS, we’re already planning our next visit. Thanks, Alcazar, for a great experience.

Based on the recommendation of friends we booked Alcazar while visiting Palm Springs for a few days. The room was comfortable and clean. The "pleasantly surprised and amazed moment" was after we realized after checking out that we had left a few items in the room. I was not able to call the hotel until hours later and was informed that the room had been cleaned and nothing was found. The next day I received a call and was told they had found my diamond ring and would mail it back. The next day we discovered we were missing something else and called the hotel. Again they said nothing was found but to our surprise they subsequently mailed that back too. Based on their honesty, responsiveness and integrity I will always stay at Alcazar.

This hotel is a 5/5. We have stayed here 3 times! From the time that you check-in to the time that you check-out, you are treated like royalty. The staff is so friendly, professional, and accommodating. The GM, Robert is very passionate about creating a great stay for guests. We encourage anyone visiting Palm Springs, to stay here! The property is very clean, the pool is great- lots of seating for relaxing/tanning. We have enjoyed the king suite and the pool side king. The beds are so comfortable and the property just feels like a peaceful retreat. The location is great and a easy walk down canon drive- which is where all the shops and restaurants are. We like to rent the bikes from the property and ride through the nearby neighborhoods. The hotel is attached to birba and cheekys and I highly recommend that you eat there. I recommend you stay at this hotel! Enjoy!
