I stayed at the Sakura Inn in February of this year (perfect weather in this desert town) and found it an almost magical experience, as I think it would be for anyone interested in Japanese culture. George, the inn keeper, has created a secluded world (in a residential neighborhood) complete with Japanese decor in rooms and garden (which looks out on a view of the mountains). I chose to have a Japanese breakfast and strong coffee each morning (American breakfast is also available). It's possible to forget you're in the middle of a city. The charm is also due to George's hospitality. There is a pool though I didn't have time to swim. For those who enjoy a slower pace and an unique experience, I highly recommend it.

My Husband and I stayed here for two nights MANY years ago when we were in the midts of raising 4 young boys, mid 90's is my best guess. I lived in this neighborhood in 1979-80. This is the original tourists neighborhood. Not glitzy, very authentic retro. Hence the other reviews mentioning the surroundings grounds. Twenty seven years, dozens and dozens of motel/hotel visits later, THIS place often crosses my mind, this is what I remember. Fabulous personal service, romantic poolside breakfast....authentic Japanese fare, not much if any choice here, we figured we would politely enjoy the ridiculously obscure breakfast and then go have a "real" breakfast...we still laugh about that because it was ONE OF THE BEST breakfasts we have ever enjoyed! The futon was comfortable and not directly on the ground. Over all this was a great choice for a getaway weekend.

The Sakura B&B is a wonderful taste of Japan in Palm Springs. A quaint little getaway in the desert. Designed with an authentic Japanese feel and just enough American amenities that makes this a perfect getaway. Weather you are here to enjoy Palm Springs Dining, Nightlife or an afternoon at the pool, the Sakura offers a comfortable convenient getaway from your everyday life. Be sure to take advantage of the authentic Japanese or American Breakfast!!

My girlfriend and I had taken the weekend off to visit this place during thanksgiving. When we arrived, George Cebra (The Host) kindly greeted us in front of the door. We were very much delighted and had the honor to be guided inside the room, pool, jacuzzi etc. The view was as if I were in middle of Tokyo, looking at the Fuji mountain. I really loved the music and ambience of the inn, and loved every minute I stayed at the place. Very relaxing and soothing environment. If you are looking for a quiet, extraordinary place, this is your place. Overall, amazing.

Had junk visible, junk cars in limited parking, old old tv. Nice pool. No real menu for breakfast. Noisy window air conditioner. Not a good experience. Only ones there and manager not there when we arrived. The ground's are old and in need of fix up.
