The music was not good. No one was dancing. Only 2 bar tenders to take care of all the people. 2 more came to help around 11:15 pm. We spent the entire night making the line to get 2 drinks. Making a line instead of enjoying or dancing. The dj never announced the countdown. No one knew when was midnight. Right after midnight we started watching the fireworks from the casino and at 12:30 am, the security guard was already asking the people to leave. The dj stopped playing music around 12:15 am. The ticket said the party was until 1:00am. The drinks were terrible. The taste of dirty martini was nasty. 2 drinks 37.50. We never paid so much money for 2 drinks that were looking and tasting like drain water. If you want to ruin your new years eve, just go to Rowan roof top new years eve!…
2 People stand out- Viviana at the Rooftop Pool and Ahmed at the Front desk- Both people made us feel very welcome and comfortable- I highly recommend this hotel- Ahmed checked us in and we called the desk to resolve a prblem and he responded within minutes and corrected the issue. We visited the pool for 4 hours on our second day and Viviana took care of us and everyone else with a smile and incredible efficiency in 100 degree heat!!! Wonderful---
I was neither blown away nor upset…except about the check out time being 11am…. that upset me… 1) no modern hotel should have 11am check out time if check-in isn’t until 4pm. Especially at over $600 per night… 2) no other similar hotels in Palm Springs have 11am check out time…I checked, the Parker, Ace, Colony Suites, even the Hilton have 12pm check out time. I almost asked for an hour off… That aside for over $600 pn (nearly $700) the room was nothing special. Two queen beds on the lowest floor. Not very big. Balcony (with someone else’s laundry from a previous stay on the other side). Good bath products…not amazing, but good. Good sheets…not amazing, but good. We couldn’t get into the restaurant. Room service came in takeout boxes. No mini bar. When we entered the room it smelt very strongly of aftershave and poo! We opened the balcony door and aired it out, but it was a bit unpleasant……
The hotel is clean, well located, and has good amenities including coffee in the morning and wine in the late afternoon. Our hotel room was nicely appointed with everything we needed. Our only complaint relates to the front desk/reception. We were barely greeted (zero "welcome, hope you have an enjoyable time, what can we do for you," etc.). In fact, the receptionists were unfriendly, mostly silent, looked down just about the entire time. They need training!
Awesome property. great escape to Palm Springs! Modern , hip and cool hotel in the center of Palm Springs. Rooms are great and the rooftop top is spectacular . Would come back here again for a getaway
I love the Kimpton Rowan! I’ve stayed here on many occasions and it has always been a great experience. A big plus is that the hotel is pet friendly. I’ve brought along my cats and even my bunny and the trips have always been fabulous. Definitely recommend making this your Palm Springs choice of hotels.
We just LOVE this hotel! The service has been consistently great from start to end. The wine social is always a great way to start your evening, with a glass of wine. The hotel is pet friendly. They actually treated our pups like guests and had treats behind the counter. The pool area is compact, but with plenty of seating.
Just got back from a wonderful vacation out West , we stayed at several places on our road trip , one of the many was The Kimpton , or Rowan Hotel . We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights . Let me first say that any negative reviews are "haters" plain and simple ignore them ! This Hotel is beautiful , filled with beautiful people . We stayed in a beautiful corner unit with gigantic floor to ceiling windows over looking the amazing beauty of Palm springs. The location is perfect and everything is in walking distance , no need to Uber here. Palm Springs is filled with shops and restaurants . The Rowan alos has one of the best restaurants in the area right on the 6th floor , the food was exactly as expected , pricey but well worth it . Outside of the restaurant is the pool area, outdoors , surrounded by the mountains of Palm Springs , there is food served outside by the pool and of course your fav drinks , the pool is small but just right for the Hotel . The staff were absolutely very friendly and helpful with anything we needed . we never had one complaint . Prior to this trip i did lots and lots of research because like you i didnt want to make a bad decision , The Kimpton is a 100 % correct pick , you will be very pleased with your decision . …
Horrible management and horrible hotel. Noisy rooms, kids running around pool unsupervised, air conditioning in the desert is controlled by loby. The staff blames Kimpton as opposed to taking responsibility. stay away. plenty of other options...
A quality, modern hotel with a great vibe. The Kimpton Rowan in Palm Springs certainly delivers when it comes to offering a great atmosphere. We also loved the add-ons: complimentary wine or beer during a cheerful, end-of-day Happy Hour in the trendy foyer and complimentary coffee to get you going every morning. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable and the hotel's location is great - smack in the heart of town so easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Some reviews said their room was noisy but ours was pretty quiet (we had a room at the back). The only negative was the room with a "view" which we paid extra for. We had a "Queen Premium San Jacinto Mntn View" ... what we got for our extra dollars was essentially a view of a giant carpark. Yes, there was a mountain behind this carpark but our outlook certainly wasn't a nice "mountain view" as one would expect ... in short, save your dollars! (This is also why I gave the hotel 4 Stars, instead of 5)…
