After our initial confusion as where to go to check in and park our car (parking is very limited) (I just called the number provided for guests), our experience at Sparrows Lodge was pure bliss. Our room by the pool was exactly as described, cozy with that rustic feel, no TV, very little storage and quiet. We took advantage of this and packed light, unplugged from work life and just chilled by the pool with a good book. My favorite thing to do in the morning was to take my complimentary breakfast (awesome by the way) to our little outdoor patio behind our room and chill before it got too hot. I can only take so much sun so I was very happy to relax on the chaise outside our room, protected from the direct sun, and feel the cool mist pass over me and listen to the trickle of the water flowing from the fountain nearby. I did see a lot of shenanigans by the pool with people reserving with their towels, books, suntan lotion chaises by the pool in several spots to take advantage of the sun and shade. This occurred mostly on the weekend and was not the Lodges fault in any way! Some people..... It was the perfect oasis to return to after exploring all that Palm Springs has to offer. Which is a ton. I would be neglectful if I did not mention how awesome the staff was at Sparrows Lodge!! They did try to anticipate your every need and responded quickly to our requests. More coffee, towels, a drink or snacks. NP. We did not dine at the Lodge because we had so many restaurant recommendations, but we did listen to Brian (Manager) when we checked out and went to their sister hotel, Holiday House, for lunch. That review will come later on. Lastly, we will be thanking our friends (Bill and Judy) for a long time for this great recommendation!!!

This was my first trip to Palm Springs. My daughter and I both needed some down time. Since neither of us had ever been to PS we had no idea what to expect. As we drove into town our first impression was, "this is interesting but right now we're feeling glad we came but guessing we won't feel the need to come back." That changed after 5 nights at Sparrows Lodge. You park in the lot in front and have no idea what to expect beyond pictures you might've seen. One minute you're on the dusty, dead streets of PS and next minute you're totally transported to a secret, private, beyond charming oasis. SL was everything we wanted in a get away. Quiet, laid back, super comfortable, delicious food and drinks and a very nice staff. It's not swanky in the traditional sense but I'd call it chic rustic. Some things we liked: The decor throughout is lovely. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable (I'm super picky in this area). We didn't hear our neighbors at all. The toiletries were great. Room was clean and the back patio was a lovely 2nd private space to enjoy. The piña coladas are so yummy. We spent our days reading by the pool, going to Joshua Tree and a couple of other hikes, the Palm Springs Art Museum and just recharging. The staff was friendly and helpful if you needed something. My only complaint would be the hard boiled eggs were hard to peel but that's only because they were so fresh so that isn't even a complaint ; ) Loved that they had a few guests with dogs since I was missing my giant pup (dogs need to be under 40 lbs to stay). Big thank you to the lovely staff, especially the great younger guy who checked us in (glasses--so sorry we didn't get your name), Melissa who I loved chatting with and Freddie on the grave yard shift who made sure we had a yummy breakfast waiting for us at 6 AM. Will 100% be back to Sparrows Lodge--maybe again with my daughter, but definitely also with my husband and maybe for a low key girls weekend away, too. 100% recommend this great boutique hotel for anyone looking to recharge and relax.

Please. Because we want it all to ourselves. STAY AWAY if you want to party, if you want a big glitzy resort or you can't appreciate quiet and serenity. Because that's what the Sparrow Lodge offers. It's a lovely, tiny property that makes you feel like you're vacationing in a friend's glorious backyard in a quiet neighborhood somewhere. Not along a bustling road . Oh- and your friends make excellent cocktails which they bring to you poolside. Those friends are also excellent chefs. AND their pantry has bagels, oatmeal and eggs for you every morning. Are there faults? Nothing is perfect but 4 stars is too little for a place that made us so happy. The rooms have AC but its not adjustable. The shower is partially open to the room so a long hot shower can make the room hot for a little while. (Our shower leaked but I was too content to complain and it didn't bother us.) The bed MUST have a sheet. Ick. We hated the 70s folk music which was played over and over again all weekend. There were many ages (over 21!!!) staying there- I am certainly not suggesting playing EDM or loud party music. But Bob Dylan's harmonica can be pretty piercing after awhile. Not to mention his voice but that's another subject. There are plenty of loungers poolside that have shade and misters and they are very comfy. The problem lies with those who feel entitled to throw out a towel and a bottle of sunscreen to "reserve" their spot at 7 am. Only to not use it for another three hours when they decide to actually leave their room. Don't be a jerk- be respectful of your fellow guests who ARE at the pool and would like the shade. There is a whole other set of loungers under an awning that are encased by misters and a good 5-10 degrees cooler as a result. There was never a moment when a lounger wasn't available. (Having a pool room doesn't "reserve" the lounger closest to you FYI.) Evenings are also divine at the Sparrow Lodge. Why? Not telling. There is more wonderfulness offered at Sparrow but I won't tell you all of it- there are many little things the staff does and the grounds offer that I think are worthy of finding out when you arrive. It is the little things that Sparrow does so very well; and being happily surprised is a wonderful thing in a world where outstanding hospitality is hard to come by. I legitimately pondered not leaving a review so that this hotel stays under the radar but that's not fair to the people that work hard to make it what it is. And its actually not for everyone- all sarcasm aside I actually overheard someone complain that the noise from trickling water fountains was akin to water torture. The sounds of chirping birds and the rustling of mature trees might be some people's Bob Dylan. For us there is no other place in Southern California we'd rather staycation at. And this is our third try in as many months.

I picked the Sparrow Lodge because I had heard great things about it as a romantic getaway with phenomenal customer service and it did not disappoint. I was there taking my sweetheart for a special occasion and they helped me pull out all the stops. The room was so cool and unique. We were greeted with an adorable note from the staff and two complimentary drinks. At night the hotel was lit up and beautiful. The next morning there was a farm fresh continental breakfast. I want to personally thank Justice, Andrea, and Melissa for making our stay magical!

I don't like publicly revealing my fave spots but this is the best hotel in Palm Springs! I'm a very picky traveler (trust me!) and I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you truly need to get away and RELAX this is the spot -- quaint, mellow, vibey, and my favorite part of all is NO DJs and NO TVs! Mega bonus is that they just added cocktails and food all day. I just love this place.
