Stayed for a few nights and overall enjoyed our experience. We chose the Saguaro mainly because of the fun atmosphere with the pool and outdoor activities/games so we could stay at the hotel and have some R&R. Besides the pool, really enjoyed the food and drinks from El Jefe and the friendly staff. While the outdoor areas of the hotel are really nice, the indoors and some of the amenities need some work. I.E- some updates to the gym and refresh in the hallways/common areas would go a long way! Would stay again if in the area :)
It is not worth the money. Don’t try to contact them via phone or email before your trip because they will not get back to you. The pool is great, and the El Jefe restaurant is super good. The tacos and nachos are so good! Customer service is awful. Upon check in, they are not welcoming, and very snappy and rude. With your resort fee, you get “welcome margaritas” well it’s 1 margarita per room per day. So if you have 5 in a group like we did, I was bummed. I’m not sure exactly why there is a resort fee. I tried to get some help from the front desk about check out, and he couldn’t be bothered to stop texting on his phone to answer my questions or even look at me. The room is OKAY but you can tell it’s a very run down hotel that they tried to paint over. The pool on the weekend is super packed and loud. Good luck finding a chair or a place in the pool. If that’s your vibe then great. The location of the hotel is a little far from the main Bars and clubs, but the Ubers are super affordable. Overall, I would not stay there again.…
We visited recently and the front desk wasn’t completely clear on what would be charged upfront Hotels usually charge for the first night and then charge the rest at checkout This was not the case here and they ended up charging for the whole stay including a daily deposit which they do not tell you about They need to do better and be honest with their guests as what is required Also the rooms and ambiance was cute for a Palm Springs getaway but not worth the price they’re charging for
The Saguaro is in a good location and the pool area, bar and restaurant are all great. However, the common areas and hallways are in need of updating. The rooms have always been sparce and clean. The beds in the room were the worst I've ever slept on as you could feel and hear the springs. A total refresh is needed and better mattresses. Getting the front desk to answer the phone can also be a challenge. I hope improvements get made as this is a fun hotel.
My team of eight and I were in town for a conference. We booked everything a bit late - 30 days before the event. In our research of hotels, we discovered The Saguaro hotel - and the price was right for our budget. I have to admit that I had my concerns. Upon arrival, my team and I were plesantly surprised! As we walked into the lobby, there was a collective "this is different." Once we got to our rooms, everyone began texting "What color is your room?" It was hilarious! We all loved the quirkiness of the place. Not your usual hotel for sure. My room looked right out at the pool area with a deck and seating for two, which was beautiful. We stayed three nights. The location to a mall and other stores was perfect. The entire team also had lunch at the hotel restaurant El Jefe. The food was good and the staff was very accommodating. Would I stay at The Saguaro again? Absolutely!…
It really is a motel you would NEVER stay at if it wasn't painted in bright instagram aesthetic colors. The pool is fun, and the restaurant and bar is good. But there is nothing else good to say about the stay. A/C not working, dingy and dirty rooms, hardly any outlets, no coffee makers, just an overall gross vibe. No one answers the phone at the front desk. If they charged a lower price, then fine, but you are paying TONS of "resort" fees for zero amenities. I swear I'm not exaggerating here. I would recommend buying a day pass to visit the pool if possible and staying somewhere else.
I booked a 4 night stay for a "fun" birthday trip for my daughter and myself, turned into the trip from hell. They couldn't accomodate an early check in which is totally understandable but stated they would call when our room was ready. Never received a call and no one ever answered at the front desk when I called to get a status update. When we got back to hotel after 4 pm, they put us in a room where the A/C was not working on a 101 degree day. I asked to be moved and requested a quiet room as the current one was right next to the pool bar. The room they moved us to ended up to be directly above the room the poolside DJ sets up in on Saturday. Of course we did not know this until he started playing on Saturday at noon. Again I called the front desk, and once again, no one answers. I walked down and the woman at the desk said she couldn't move us but the music would be over by 5 pm. It actually lasted until 7 pm. I tried several times to talk to a manager but was told there were none on site. I am still in shock that they would put their guests in a room above the DJ, especially guests that requested a quiet room. I have yet to have my phone calls/email to the general manager be returned. To make matters worse, I just received my final bill (had to call the hotel and ask for it to be emailed) since there was (no surprise)no one manning the front desk when I checked out yesterday. I found several added charges on the bill.…
We stayed for four nights in a pool view suite and loved it. Suite was well appointed, spacious and very clean. Wooden floors with cool area rugs and very comfortable king size bed with great linens and oversized pillows. The master bath was huge with a stand alone tub and glasses in large shower. There was a separate balcony overlooking the pool off the bedroom and living room that was great at night with glass of wine or people watch at the pool party in the day. Definitely worth the money for the suite. El Jefe restaurant is very good. We had breakfast and dinner there axxwell as drinks at the bar. Service was great as was the food. Was a nice surprise to find a really good Mexican restaurant in a hotel that was not way over priced. The pool Scene was great fun each day and hotel guests get free access. DJ was awesome and the bartenders did a good job. Great margueritas and fun atmosphere. We used the gym twice and liked that it was spacious with 5 pieces of cardio, universal weight machines and free weights and benches. One of us had a massage and Eddie the therapist was great. So relaxing and much needed massage. The staff that we encountered at the front desk, housekeeping and restaurant and bar were all very accommodating and friendly. Thank you! We will be back for sure.…
Maybe my expectations were too high… The photos online are so inviting and everything looks pristine but FAR from it. Check-in was great even tho they were slammed with a line stretching out past the door. The room looks fun when you first go in but it was tainted by stacks of dirty dishes in the alcoves (room service or UberEats, idk) and overflowing trash cans in the hallways. There was no room service the three days we were there. NO COFFEE MAKER?! For a $300+resort fee room, that’s a minimum expectation. The DJ music was fine in the afternoon but it got louder as the night wore on (tbf, only Sat night was the worst) As this was my first time to Palm Springs, I’m glad we came to a colorful, Instagram worthy hotel tho I’d never stay here again. It has so much potential-seemed to be seriously understaffed, maybe pandemic related but keeping everything clean is absolutely mandatory for a hotel.…
Pros: - They have a great pool and lounge area - Prime location as it’s only a 5-8 min drive to Downtown - Room is spacious and there’s a cute balcony - Hotel has a “aesthetic” vibe to it which lots of fun colours and decor (great for pictures) - Joe at the bar is amazing! Cons: - Hotel needs some major renovations, looks nice on the outside but you can tell it’s old on the inside - Rooms have musty odour… i think from the carpet - Service is definitely hit or miss Overall: I had a good experience and it’s a fun vibe if you’re traveling with friends. Personally, I wouldn’t stay here again. For the price, I believe there are better or at least comparable options out there with better service.
