Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for a quick overnight getaway after tax season. My hubby had a comp room, which was on the 10th floor and was really big and really nice. It overlooked the pools and the mountains. So pretty at night. The only problem I had with the room was that the shower had only one temperature - hot. Otherwise, great room.
In the casino, there was a band and I found some great slot machines and had the most fun in a casino that I have in a while. I couldn't lose at these machines!
I have to say that the food and beverage offerings at the hotel were somewhat lacking. The gift shop had very limited items for snacks/drinks to take to our room. There's a grab and go food vendor, but they were not open during our stay. For breakfast, there were really no options except the cafe, which does not do to-go orders to take to your room (and no room service). There's a coffee counter, which had bagels and pastries, but we didn't see a protein option which is what I need in the morning. I don't eat sugar and while I love a good bagel, they don't agree with me. Even prepackaged hardboiled eggs would have been a great choice.
My hubby had to go to the gas station/deli up the road to get me something for breakfast. It's not like there's anyplace else within 20 minutes to get anything else, so for the hotel to not have the option of to-go orders from the only place that serves breakfast, is a real disservice.

Love this hotel! Our families from across the country reserved about 20 rooms for our son’s wedding in October. We couldn’t have been happier. The rooms are big and spacious. Bathrooms are large with plenty of counter space and a separate soaking tub and shower. Could use a little more lighting in the room.
We ate at every restaurant in the casino and were impressed with everything we ordered, so delicious! Went to the Noodle place twice!
So impressed with everyone we dealt with at the hotel. My husband talked to someone at the reception desk at least 5 times, lol! We were nervous because it was our sons wedding and we wanted everything to be perfect…and it was.
Our family loved hanging out at the pool bar during the day and had a blast at the bar watching live music at night! So much fun!!! Only a few of the people in our group were gamblers and they were very impressed as well. My brother in law hit 4 jackpots!
I’m bringing a bunch of friends back in February. Just called and the receptionist was so nice and helpful. Wineries in the area are good and Old Town Temecula is a short drive away with great restaurants and more wineries as well.

Tried booking a room for last minute get a away. was on hold for 28 minutes then got hung up on. Resort needs to find a better way to accommodate reservations and/or offer on line booking. Will try calling back hopefully rooms are worth it .

Last weekend I planned out a very relaxing long weekend to spend at Pala. I really needed a mini getaway from work but, that is not what I got. I checked in on Friday, get to my room and the first thing that hits me is the smell. I follow the smell to the refrigerator where someone had left a container of food that seemed to have gone bad. I immediately call housekeeping and they come take the food away and spray deodorizer. I then open up the curtains to get a beautiful view of a parking structure. This is what I'm supposed to look at for the next three days??? Then I go to use the phone to see if I can switch rooms and notice how dirty the phone and desk are. After several calls and a day and half later I switch rooms.
It turns out that the only room service they have is in the morning for breakfast so, Sunday morning I order a breakfast burrito and what I get for my $25 is a mediocre "fast food" breakfast burrito with really bad salsa and a tiny tin bottle of diet coke. It was a terrible breakfast that I ate maybe a quarter of, because I was hungry. The high roller restaurant had very few choices of food and that was all three days that I was there. There were people there that would make small talk with me while I gambled, than asked me for money and cigarettes. According to the lady cleaning around me these beggars show up on a regular basis and try to get money from anyone that looks like they have it. Why doesn't security do anything about this? I kept attempting to make it a relaxing and fun weekend until I came to the realization that my weekend was over and it sucked. Thank you, Pala.

ll their COVID protocols on their site before attending so I was shocked at how little they were doing. Yes they take your temp but that's about it. Smoking is allowed and the place stinks awful. Since people are "smoking" they leave their masks down and no one tells them to put them on. I was also shocked that all the slots were open. This is the 4th casino I've been to since COVID and the only one that had no social distancing at machines. I was so angry we drove all the way there to find they don't follow their own safety protocols. Go to Pechanga instead, they do not allow smoking and enforce masks.

In the past 3 months I have stayed at this hotel many times. The first month or so, the hotel/casino was very strict about following their covid policies. Temperatures were taken, mask were required everywhere and at all times, every other slot machine was turned off for social distancing and there were employees cleaning non-stop. There was a lot of obvious care put into the reopening.
In the last month I have seen people walk around with no mask, all machines are turned on so you have people sitting right next to you on both sides (no social distancing), minimal cleaning (I see messy/dirty areas every where), and the last night I stayed there I got horrible bug bites and ended up in urgent care.
So, they no longer have enough employees to keep the casino floor clean or spray for bugs but, they have now placed extra employees at all the entrances to check every single person's bag to ensure that they do not bring in alcohol in order for their bars to make more money? I ended up sick because they wanted to make sure their bars made more money???? It's ridiculous how many employees I see just standing around at the entrance that can actually be doing better things.

No more POOL ? its closed for winter? who does that? no more Cave? no more dancing in front at concerts? the buffet has completely gone downhill as I see about 75% of the reviews are bad and saying the same thing. I've noticed it seems there are no younger people here anymore, the under 40 crowd, much less under 55 ! the down slide all started a few years ago as I see, the new pool fiasco is like small Koi ponds where I have to stare at a hairy rear 5 ft away, ( Pechanga had these too but they are digging it up to put in a BIG main pool) then they closed down dancing at Infinity room used to be sooooo much fun, now concerts are seats only in front and mainly over 75 yr old seniors sitting, zzzzzzzzzz. New casino interior seats are a joke, very uncomfortable ( Pechanga new ones are great) the new bright lights were cool but they just installed darker brown tint and potato sack shades , ewe brown? It seems like they just keep cutting corners down to the smallest tiny things, like the online " my Pala casino" games points , I used to rack up enough for food etc in about 6-8 weeks playing most days online, but now its taking like 6 months, wow they realllly turned down the point winnings. Im not sure they will change things, it would take years to bring back the " cool crowd" that used to come here, there all at " the P , the H and the M nowadays. The " P " Pechanga should just buy them out, call it Palanga ? logo could be PP ? hmmm, no thats just wrong ! ha ha.....Pala used ( before about 2017) to be a blast, like all in one sat night, upfront dancing at Infinity room tribute bands, starlight theater, Luis Reys bands, smooth music at Cave where we saw stars hang out like Lynyrd Skynrd, electric food at Cave lounge, buffet was great, sushi was crowded with cool people , we would bop back n forth during concerts , then dance all night with a dj, those were the days before they ruined it all.

Although the hotel and rooms are luxurious and well appointed, having to show your drivers license every time to access your room is absurd, first they would not let my wife accommodate me to the room since she was not "officially registered" with the front desk, then every time I came back for my luggage I had to take a temperature check and show my license 3 times in a row within a 15 minute period.
If you like TSA procedures, you'll love this place. Otherwise wait till restrictions are lifted.

I was looking forward to being with friends at Pala Casino. I realized right away that Pala Casino is not an inexpensive place to stay after asking the wife what it cost. Anyways we can deal with that even though they were going to take a good amount of money from us anyways if you know what I mean. So I figured I would give my best and was upset from the get go. Our friends called and said you can’t bring in any beer or booze. They search your bags and to me that is stupid. I knew I would buy some drinks from the resort but I enjoy hanging with friends and having some drinks in the room for a quarter of the price. Major disappointment and I was ready to go elsewhere. We dealt with it and spent money on their drinks. Dinner time comes and we eat at some grill place inside. Talk about crappy food. None of us finished our meals and we walked away. Long story short. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. We stayed at other Indian casinos and they were way more accommodating. I will never return to Pala.

A shadow of its former self, Pala hotel/casino is still undergoing major construction. Since its inception we have visited the hotel frequently including staying for my husband’s December birthdays. This year we were in shock and disbelief at the state of this once cheerful, friendly place. Entering the lobby we were met by workers hammering away at the once beautiful water feature. We had to shout to make ourselves heard at the reception desk and felt sorry for the young lady who helped us. We were alone in the area.
The nicely furnished room on the 9th floor looked out over the pool area. No complaints about the room. Construction noise was ongoing with concrete being broken up by large equipment. At night, noises from the nearby service elevator seemed amplified.
Now for the piece de resistance: DIY housekeeping! We had not been advised that there would be no maid service unless we stayed for three nights. For a hotel of this stature this is unacceptable. My husband emptied the trash down the hall and took the used towels to a maid who was cleaning check-out rooms, bringing back fresh ones. After talking to the front desk person, who made no apologies but kept stating policy, someone appeared at the door with bathroom amentities.
There was no mention of my husband’s birthday which in the past was recognized with a Happy Birthday banner in the room and a small delicacy on the table. Also, there are no hotel discounts such as AAA.
Restaurant prices are sky high and restaurants sparsely occupied. The buffet is gone, Grab and Go and sports bar were closed. Poolside area a mud pit. Spa is gone. We didn’t recognize any of the employees and later heard that all of the previous staff had been let go.
In the casino area many machines were turned off and people were complaining at the service desk. The payoffs on the slots were poor. No-one seemed to be winning. The smell of smoke hung in the air.
For an enjoyable gambling experience I can recommend Pauma, a short drive away set among orange groves. Friendly staff will greet you, the café is airy and light, prices reasonable. Payoffs good and frequent. Security evident. They even had the Marines picking up toys for Toys for Tots.
