My family stayed here for the weekend. Room wasn’t available for another after we were supposedly able to check in at 4pm. Fireplace which we paid more for was broken. Coffee maker was broken. Bathroom wasn’t very clean. The location was amazing but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Great property, room options and location but condition has not been maintained over the years. We stayed here about 5 years ago and the cottage room was great. Returned in 2021 and by chance stayed in same room. Doesn't seem like they've done any maintenance since. Windows were broken, one almost fell out of frame when we tried to open. Carpets dirty and had substantial sized sticky spot. Bath/shower fixtures half broken. Microwave and mini-frig smelled bad. Bed was super hard...maybe same bed as 5 years ago. It is shame because it's really a great property. I understand COVID impacts but these issues have been it the making for far more than 1 years. Hesitate staying there again.
Arrived for a one night stay to find a lovely property within walking distance to the "The Great Tide Pool" made famous by Ed Ricketts and John Steinbeck, and the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in the forest. Checking in we were helped by a delightful woman with a fun personality which was a great start to our stay - it's amazing how much an employees attitude can set the tone for a hotel. We had booked a dog friendly, one bedroom cottage, as we were traveling with our Golden Retriever. Comfortable bed, fireplace, small kitchen with mini sink, microwave and fridge and two bathrooms. One with a shower, and the other with a bathtub so large you could swim in it. The only thing of note to management was that perhaps a dog bowl might be offered as part of the kitchen set up for future guests. Common areas of the property hosted firepits that many guests were taking advantage of and meandering throughout the property were swings guests could relax on with a glass of wine or cocktail. Another unique feature was they offer bikes to rent making the Monarch Sanctuary and the village of PG very easy to access and alleviates the need for parking. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the pool and hot tubs were closed and breakfast was a grab and go bag with fruit, granola bar, juice and a pastry. All in all, it was a nice stay and we wouldn't hesitate to return. …
This was our second time here. First time was in the lodge and this time in the cottages. The fire places by the cottages were perfect for hanging out after exploring the local area. 100% recommend this lodge!
Just an old and tired hotel paint everything in the junior sleep was very outdated couldn’t get the thermostat to work so had to sleep in cold room, bathroom door was broken and had to fix myself just to be able to get out. Jacuzzi didn’t work. Woke up the 2nd day of my honeymoon to a bunch of ants all over the room. Just sucked to not be able to relax I a room that was suppose to be an elegant home away from home for our honeymoon.
