We would stay here again. Stayed three nights in June. It’s about three blocks from the beach, walkable easily, and close to restaurants, and the grounds and our room immaculate, quiet and charming. Check in was smooth. We really enjoyed the hot tub, which was always clean and rarely used so we had it to ourselves. I deducted one star because the toilet had a leak in it. Every time we flushed water would come out of the top of the tank, so we had to use up all our towels mopping up water. That floor was slippery when wet. It was fixed our first morning there, when we reported it, so a minor problem. The morning we left the bathroom electricity stopped working for some mysterious reason, but we were leaving and it didn’t affect our stay. Great value for the money. I would book again, definitely, on a return trip. Problems were really first world problems, and we had a great experience overall at MP Inn!…
We have stayed before and enjoyed it, mostly due to the location and the fact it’s dog friendly, but this stay was horrible and a rip off at $400 a night. We were checked into a room with a broken shower and had to repack and move (after dinner). We were placed into a DIRTY, un-sanitized room (Covid precautions?) with a broken phone and kitchen lighting. All huge safety hazards. By law hotels have to have a working phone for emergencies. There was even a dresser drawer filled with dirty laundry, including crusty, gooey underwear! So nasty! Dirty counters, dishes and missing supplies. Other peoples bathroom supplies left in the shower. I doubt the bending was clean. So gross! I asked for some sort of refund and they only offered $110! We paid $1400 for this, ridiculous! The night guy trying to help was swamped (he was doing his best), so I didn’t want to give him a worse night and opted to deal with a manager later. I asked to speak to one in the morning and was told they would contact me to discuss. They NEVER did. Had to ask again the next day and was told “yeah, so I told them and they said that’s all we can offer, sorry.” No call or anything. I even emailed the contact on the website and NEVER got a reply that way either. On top of this our neighbors are super loud and have multiple barking dogs and don’t care. I’m checking out tomorrow and it will be a scene. We won’t be back unless serious actions are taken. I’m so embarrassed I chose this place and ever recommend it. Rip off. Poor management.…
The property is in a very good location if you plan to visit the Lovers Point and the 17-mile drive. The neighborhood is quite and Peaceful; the staff were welcoming, friendly, and went extra mile to make sure their guests had everything they needed. Prices are reasonable, and rooms are very clean. The only suggestion I would make is to book a king size room if you are traveling with your partner or one more person. We booked a queen size and we felt we could use a bit more space. But it worked out for an overnight stay, not big deal at all. Highly recommend this property if you are visiting the area!
This place is always amazing. The rooms are clean and the staff is always so nice and helpful. We stayed in a room with a small kitchen and fireplace. I was amazed at how spotless the kitchen was! The housekeeping staff was extremely nice and attentive. The fireplace was great since it was January and a bit cold outside. We love the hot tub, firepit and location, as we are able to walk to the beach and the little town with its cute shops and restaurants. The staff are so friendly and nice too. We can't wait to come back again!
I am giving this hotel a low rating for three reasons: 1) they did not follow COVID protocol; 2) they never picked up the phone when I tried to call them and 3) they did not return neither phone messages nor emails. Background: My husband and I have a compromised immunity and informed the hotel of our concern for COVID cleaning protocols when we booked. This was our first vacation in 18 months. They confirmed following cleaning protocols when we booked, the last day we could cancel, the day before arrival, upon arrival before our room was ready. While waiting in the parking lot for our room to be ready, we noticed a housekeeping going in and out of rooms without a mask or gloves. We took a picture. We hoped that our rooms were in a separate section of the hotel. However, when we finally checked in (as again asked about cleaning and confirmed), we were given a key to one of the rooms that housekeeper was in. Predicament: We could risk it, go home or try to locate another hotel. We attempted to cancel the reservation stating why, but we could not get a refund. We were told we had to call back and speak with a manager. As noted above, we called numerous times and either no answer, manager was out, or messages were not returned. In other words, no resolution. We attempted to resolve the situation with our credit card. The one star is for the front desk who tried to be helpful - at least sounded like they wanted to be…
My husband and I spent a lovely weekend here. Quaint place. We enjoyed the hot tub after a day wandering the area taking in the ocean, light house, nearby shops and restaurants. Walked to the butterfly sanctuary and even decided to extend our stay. The manager was so friendly. He really cares about his guests. Room was just what we needed and for a great price. Housekeeping were so nice and accommodating when we needed more towels, etc. Several guests were also using the fire pit. We opted for a glass of wine in our room instead. Would stay here again.
My wife and I visited the area recently for a romantic weekend. We had a wonderful stay at this inn. Our room was very clean and nicely updated. There is a hot tub on the property which we used every night and it was so relaxing and nice. Additionally, the staff was very attentive and offered great recommendations on where to go and what to do. We will be back for another stay at this wonderful place soon.
This hotel has zero flexibility when it comes to their cancellations, even during COVID! I have been trying to cancel/rebook my rook, and they are so inflexible. I am not feeling well as well as my friend that is traveling with me, and we are taking precautions 5 days in advance to cancel or rebook the room, and they take so long to pick up the phone and then cannot provide me with a solution to this problem. Most hotels are considerate of their future guests, and this hotel just doesn't care if one has covid symptoms. So frustrating to find such an inconsiderate property. The room is 300 dollars and apparently a very horrible place to stay, according to other reviews.
My stay at the Monterey Peninsula Inn was everything I could have asked for and more! The hotel manager, I believe his name was Aaron, was extremely kind and helpful throughout my stay! We couldn't figure out how to get the heater to turn on, and after a quick call to the front desk, in 2 minutes Aaron was there to get it on in no time! The room was extremely clean, bed was very comfy, and most importantly we felt very safe! Check in and out was a breeze! I couldn't ask for a better place to stay in such a beautiful place like the Monterey Bay! THANK YOU MPI!!!
I had such a wonderful stay here. Clean spacious rooms and friendly staff. The location is absolutely perfect and walking distance to the beach. I will be recommending Monterey Peninsula Inn to all of my family and friends! I can’t wait to book my next trip and come back!
