This is a spread out facility with a central lodge. Our room was simple, but a little too simple. No TV, No AC, No Coffee in room, and barely wi-fi. There is a boardwalk leading to the beach so that was nice. The lodge has a small bistro so that's where you'll need to go for your morning coffee. The... More

This is a state park with rustic cabins. If you don't want to stay in rustic cabins, don't stay here. But if you do stay here, you are in for a treat. Honestly, I'm not into "rustic" cabins but I chose this place because the architect, Julia Morgan, designed the original buildings when it was a YWCA camp. Morgan designed... More

We stayed here for a single night on our way down the California coast. It was rustic, as expected, but perfectly comfortable for a night. We really enjoyed the grounds, which included a walkway down to the beautiful beach. Food was mediocre and expensive, so we mostly ate at some of the nearby restaurants in Pacific Grove and Monterey. There... More

The state of California has done a good job of keeping the beauty of this place over the years, without increasing prices too much. You do need to pay attention to which buildings you stay in, because they're all quite different. Some people like the rustic rooms, some people would rather have something more modern. There are great walks through... More

We were there for a family reunion. It's a great place with plenty of room for groups. It's owned by the state and has a camp feeling to it. The lodge is beautiful and the beach is just a nice walk down the hill. The atmosphere is very rustic. The rooms are 70's. We enjoyed our stay very much. Their... More

I recently attended a family event at Asilomar, and was very pleased with the location. Our room had one minor problem, which the staff promptly corrected. The grounds themselves are pleasant, with a nice dining hall and social hall with pool tables and ping pong. The beach is within walking distance and the food was very good. This is a... More

Starting with the good: great views and nature around and... That's it! The place has very dated rooms. The building where our room was had an accessibility sign but we had to drag our luggage upstairs to reach our room. Internet connection, even though advertised, was non-existent (and if you complain you get told by front desk to contact a... More

A family visit with some of us in a conference. Ask to stay in the original houses, designed by Julia Morgan (the newer houses are more like boring hotel rooms). Not fancy but full of character. I was a little put off by all the fees and taxes which made it a rather pricey three days. Lovely location.

We have been to Asilomar many times before and have always enjoyed our visit. This was no exception. The location is indisputably one of the most beautiful in the word, with the Pacific coastline just across the street. Although Asilomar is largely on the rustic side, this is part of its beauty, rooted in a history of having been built... More

The Conference Center is a quiet rustic establishment that offers a large variety of options to accommodate many different groups. The grounds are large and you'll encounter those who are part of a business or educational symposium as well as large families who are there to enjoy the beach, the nearby Monterey Bay Aquarium and have some quality family time...
