In the Age of Covid the Inn is handling it extremely well. Great food and service with an admirable attention to social distancing. Add this to the lovely accommodations. Lovely views of the bay, whales, otters, seals and critters. Additionally while we were there deer were seen at several locations near the beach.
great location- right on the water with beautiful view of the ocean for breakfast and the wine aperitive that happen daily and are included with the nightly rates. You can step out and go for a walk, jog or a bike ride along the beach. Right by 17 mile drive. Rooms are very charming and tasteful. The silver collection in the house is amazing and even more amazing is that they use it all for guests, when serving. So you are taken back to glorious days of this house. You can imagine the amazing dinner parties and social events that happened here! Staff are very freinedly. Everything was perfect!
Trying with difficulty to narrow down why the Martine Inn is uniquely extraordinary. It is a rare jewel which has managed to embrace modern day yet preserves things universally cherished such as quality of service. From the 1st phone call, we were treated as treasured, old friends. The presence of history and quality was everywhere. From the antique silver serving collection to the delightful tiny crystal condiment servers, the antique autos on display, remarkable art, paintings, antique furnishings, (best part, clawfoot tubs) to gorgeous wood carved fireplaces it all fills one's cup. Best location. Awesome set up. Friendly guests to chat with. No bad seat in the dining room so what ever room one's budget allows for, all guests enjoy a perfect ocean view. Exquisite (fun!) breakfast each morning with uniquely thoughtful menus and presentation, served on silver platters. What a message to guests. Every need or want already anticipated. At night, no noise. Just waves crashing below. No glaring street light or Inn signage. Maybe much like it was when the Inn was first built? Nice to enjoy natural moonlight and watching tiny vessels across bay. Best of all, no TV's in rooms. What a rare chance to hear one's own thoughts. Already planning to return! Thoroughly enjoyed a time of unplugging and just being.…
Great breakfast with a wonderful view while eating. Love the California room. Light and airy with a view of the courtyard. Just cross the street and you can walk for miles. Close to everything, but quiet and so quaint. Second time here and not disappointed.
The wonderful views , gorgeous historic, romantic lodgings , delightful breakfasts and wine hour still make this beautiful place heart fluttering special even 'tho they can't have their endless homemade cookie jar and fruit cornucopia and other lovely amenities right now . The staff is as lovely and hospitable as the virus allows . Did not want to come home.
